Aaliyah Definitely Believe in Missy & Tim when no one else did.. She Definitely help put them on the Map. I see why Missy is So Grateful and Love Aaliyah So Much
@@UptownNYC aaliyah already had a successful album, for her 2nd album she reached out to missy and timb who was not at the time big. They did help aaliyah but aaliyah was the one who truly put them out there. You can find somewhere in youtube missy talking about it.
@@UptownNYC Aaliyah put them on because nobody wanted to use they’re beats, due to the simple fact that they’re beats always been very difficult to sing on with the different melodies. Aaliyah had the power to work her magic on they’re beats and that’s how they got put on the map.
@@UptownNYC how old are you ?? Aaliyah debuted in 94 she had multiple hits , her album was multi platinum. Then she met Tim and Missy in 95 they were unknown, so yes she put them on
This generation will never know that back during the 90'S and early 2000s era was the SHIT. It was banging! No disrespect to this era but you had to be a teenager or an adult during that time to know what I'm talking about. Missy and Timberland was doing their thing. Aaliyah was at the peak of her career. Homegirl had 3 albums under her belt before she was even 25 years old. Loved Aaliyah and miss her as well.
I was in kindergarten during this era and I 1000% understand and know what you're talking about. I grew up with these artists. I DO remember Aaliyah KEPT getting snubbed by the soul train awards and that really upset my older cousin. But anyways there's nothing like the late 90's/early 2000's in terms of music & culture. I wish I can go back and do it again but in my 20's instead!! The vibe was so fresh back then I miss it 🥺💯
This is a rarity! Thank you for the upload. Always loved the friendship Aaliyah & Missy had. You can tell they were close; loved the music they made together especially on cuts like "John Blaze" & "Where Could He Be?" featuring Tweet.
Very true. For Tim and missy the sound was futuristic. For Aaliyah it’s her looks. When I look at her from 97-2001 it’s like I’m looking at someone from now.
Remember that press conference with tlc when they called on lisa Lopes to speak who would have thought she would be the group member who ended up dying years later
Aaliyah used to hang with Lil Kim, Missy who were known to smoke weed so I'm sure she probably hit a few blunts with them sometimes. It doesn't take away from the fact she was still a cool chick!
Yes, definitely. They were part of one crew. In 1997 they toured together, she would babysit his child when he was out at night parting. Ginuwine seems always very moved when he's speaking about her, she was that little sis in the family.
Me and my adopted mother who I need to DNA test are surely related to Aaliyah and Missy. She’s definitely related to missy, and I am related to Aaliyah. Same mannerisms, jewelry placement, and hairstyles. I do not dress like that anymore, but I weirdly started dressing like that when I was around that age. I prefer to cover myself, however I was constantly being told to wear less by various people. I love the 90’s and The Crow, so thats kind of how that style formed aside from being German. Aaliyah was 19. Ginuwine seems to have been signaled away from Aaliyah by Timbaland, because he was getting too close. Ginuwine was most likely being used to promote gin and wine, but he might not drink much or at all. I am not judging others, but I don’t even drink alcoholic beverages. Health conscious. She was an adult. This is a psychological set up.
