My favorite and her best live performance ever in my opinion this really grasped just how many places her voice could go this made me just love her even more
Probably because she showcased a smoother, softer voice more. There's "Giving Up (Is Hard To Do)", where she performs amazing vocals. I think she just didn't want to be a diva like the rest. They compare her to Janet, Ciara, Cassie, and all of those girls with weak vocals. But Aaliyah could actually singer better than them. Aaliyah was like in the middle, and around the corner. She could sing sing high and low, smooth and deep, falsetto, and jazzy. She had her own voice.
The word your looking for is “unique” indeed A’aliyah voice was very unique but it wasn’t weak she naturally had a smooth sound light and voice unlike Janet who actually you could never understand, and Cassie she was only a studio chick. A’aliyah never cared to be anyone more than A’aliyah and she didn’t have to try to upstage anyone including herself. When it comes to dancing A’aliyah used a deeper tone of voice that I didn’t like but it was to keep her breathing under control I believe once she gotten older she voice never changed yet she had more confidence in herself because she started to come out her little closet and started to give much more of a stronger preference. And honestly if A’aliyah was still living she really would have had to change up her vocal style as far as singing because the media and the public would’ve ate he up like seriously 😒 she was our R&B princess 👑 and sweetheart A’aliyah’s music is a treasure as is she and just timeless. A’sliyah is now frozen in time sadly but a lot of artist remember and love her. # I’m her # 1fan
The main fact here is that Aaliyah has a voice of an Angel which I believe is being heard in heaven among other Angels. She was never capable of singing a bad version of any song. The girl was/ still is in my mind a beautiful, talented, loving gift that we were lucky enough to have had on this earth for the all too brief time we did. To me she's more than "One in a million" she is "Once in a lifetime!" I'll always love this girl for who she was and her talent!
Aaliyah Just didnt have the right people behind her to back her up because she should have had more shows so she could over come her nervousness but she was talented miss her so much
She did it on this performance. Kept it soft and kept me melting. I wish I was one of the dudes swaying in the audience captivated by this live groove. Miss u
@bajeboi Her voice is nice, I love the silky quality of her voice. But the thing is, when I hear Aaliyah sing, I hear true singing and it's really pleasant to hear.
Aaliyah Tupac Robin Williams Bruce Lee Were my favorites during the nineties they were great loved them watched them back to back and listened to them back to back
I remember this BET when it was clean and they had Teen Summit, teens talking about making a difference. Just saying. But back to Ali, gorgeous, and a sweet voice, I think if she would've performed more she would've gotten better, she says she's a nervous performer, but she would've gotten better, and this performance, is so beautiful and peaceful, it makes you want to close your eyes and remember her still being here
@WestVoice belting was not her strongest aspect but falsetto and low notes and the ability to transition as well as her tone here is a performance where her head voice reminds me a bit of whitney
She could sing she sing this from her heart ❤❤❤❤❤ go Aaliyah for ever and always one in a million.for ever and always I still listen to this song still.sounds good 97 in the house.
Is this not the most stunning falsetto so authentically summoned and genuinely emotive to grace the stage. That performance blew my mind it was so spiritually soothing
I love how delicately she could sing & protect her vocal chords. I see that so many people think that singing has to be growling & yelling, but it's about using your instrument wisely. If only we had more years with her... I knew when I heard "At Your Best" that she was always gifted & got even better with time. ~/.\~
Blame her production team. They had her in the albums singing with this high airy voice, knowing that she had a rich alto voice. Her voice is pretty good
Angela Love aaliyah was a soprano, no alto and u dont use alto for a solo singer its contralto or mezzo-soprano aaliyah was a soprano but could be also mezzo-soprano cause she was good at low notes as well
This is one of her less popular songs but a lovely one. The way she could transition from highs to lows is pretty amazing and sounds so smooth the whole time. She will be missed. This girl could shut it down on the stage for real! Best, Marvin 😀
damnnn RipAaliyah love & miss ya... she was such a great artist nd under rated.. her voice aint shit like ciaras aaliyah really had talent too sad she had too go i cry everytime watchin her.. damn... dis was beautiful!!!! & i love this soonngg..
i wished she would of had more opportunities to perform to overcome her nerves but i think this performance is on par with the others there are just alot of interesting things she does with her voice here especially the way she sings just @ 2:50-2:58 that is alot of head voice chest voice transitioning goin on
@bajeboi remember also that are tastes a decade later are probably a lot different than the perceived tastes of the market they were probably aiming at.
