This interview is disturbing in so many ways. The way they are dressed alike and the way those two adult interviewers would ask if an underage girl is married to an adult man.
This interview is all over the place they clearly asked were they dating lol 😂 and then the man ask her about school and being a student lol 😂 clearly Robert was far from a student lol make it make sense !! Clearly there is a gap in age even when Rob talks about naming the album.
Yeah I always thought they were in an inappropriate relationship and she looked more comfortable around him in interviews than with her mom and dad. It’s like he gave her some confidence in herself. It’s a shame nobody did anything until s***t hit the fan and that vibe magazine issue came out.
I remember seeing this interview as a kid so in love with their matching MICKEY MOUSE outfits, not realizing he was grooming her and US that looked up to her. We thought dating way older was a norm. Smh
I agree with 💯 % because I’m a victim as well I was 17 /18 I started dating the guy 6 mths before turned 18 however he was 23 Niether of our parents agreed 😕 I thought by going over my moms head and introduced him to my grandparents, they told me nothing was wrong in the age gap🤔 that it was ok to date so we did …fast forward now I have a 26 year daughter looking back I would have never allowed my 17yr to date a 23 … but doing that era growing up we looked at it as being cool , popular, thought it was a way of being cute🙄 however I’m not justifying anything also I’m not going to deny like this wasn’t a thing back in the day either…🤷🏾♀️

It's cute when she gets embarrassed about her album not being platinum yet and R. Kelly provides her some assurance. Her album was certified platinum just weeks after this interview. Their relationship was inappropriate but I think R. Kelly provided her with some confidence. I read she was nervous during her first video shoot and he would tell her how beautiful she looked and how she was going to be the best.
He was a predator PLEASE he could careless. He also allegedly messed with Aaliyahs mother too which explains why her mother never spoke out about this. He married her to avoid the possibility of Aaliyah testifying against him in court or against her alleged pregnancy with him. in the eyes of the law she wasn't able to consent regardless of how they felt. Both of these comments are INSANE. If she feels anything towards him, it’s a type of Stockholm syndrome. And it’s completely inappropriate for him to live her. There is NOTHING cute about any aspect of their relationship. If he helped her career and confidence, he did it purely as part of the grooming. Look at her, she’s a slightly insecure and nervous 15/16/17 year old who had no business being with a grown 20 something. Shame on him and shame on her parents.
