that's the record i had to buy as my first ever vinyl record :) (the reissue that comes out in like 2 weeks, but it's basically the same as the version you're showing, same track list as well) can't wait!!
I initially enrolled in vinyl me please for three months. Then I unenrolled for a number of months, only to get a great offer by them to re-enroll for another six months I just recently renewed that six-month subscription for an additional three months. Everything is going up in price right now. That’s just the nature of the current economic situation. We are in. I still think that Vinyl me please offers a great value for the price, but it is a high-end product/service. This is my first time watching your channel, and I hit subscribe, since I feel you will be talking about music that is not on my regular radar. And probably don’t talk about on my own channel. And I am always looking to expand my tastes. BTW: I really appreciated your video on grading records. I think it is one of the better videos I have seen on the subject.
This was my first Record with VMP last month. An let me tell you I was very impressed. The packaging was off the chain. I’ve never been so excited about a record like AALIYAH. They got me again this month with Usher- Confessions. Now these record are not cheap at all. I’m not sure if this relationship with VMP will be short or long term. It depends on what they release.
So glad I picked up the VMP version! The vinyl packaging and quality was done so well! I have ordered a few selections from VMP. Aaliyah, E Badu and Sylvester were some of my favorites. The pricing is a bit more but we pay for the quality of the production as they have their own record plant.
Ayy your back! Nice B roll on the vid I'm based in the UK so for most hip hop rnb vinyls you're paying £25/30 so those prices are kinda normal over here... I was really considering this Aaliyah, but I have others on my waiting list, that I'm waiting for..... Speaking of which, looking to sell your Saba or little sims? I'm your guy!
Great video as always! I picked up the standard version from amazon , but id be lying if i said i wasnt eyeballing the VMP version. Its gorgeous! Side note: gosh, im so jealous! You have Year of the Gentleman 😭 I've wanted to get my hands on that for a while. Anyways, Keep being great, man! Love the vids
Happy to see you posting new content. Regarding VMP: I blame you, It's your fault! ;-) Caught your video on VMP last year and looked into it further. Last Holiday Season my wife inquired on gift ideas and I tossed out the idea of a gift subscription. She very generously gifted me a six month subscription. 1st LP was Sigur Ros this past Jan. and as a fan I was thrilled. Subsequent months have either been to my tastes or of interest to me. Had one month get "lost in the mail", but I blame USPS not VMP and it turned up (undamaged) a week later. Bought a couple On Sale items and one had a bad nick in the outer groove which resulted in a tick throughout the first 90 seconds of a track - Customer Support was easy to deal with and promptly replaced it with a minty-mint copy. Thinking I'll renew for another six months. Prices are hight, but not unreasonably so in my opinion as the cost of shipping is including and the quality is there.
I’ve read that there have been sibilance issues with this pressing. Did you experience that? VMP has always done a great job with their packaging, but most of the time, issues arise from the actual pressing, specifically when pressed at GZ. We’ll see if those issues go away once they open their own pressing plant. I could have a THEORY on what else you could be getting from them. It’s been 2 years since my last subscription to VMP. Prior to that I had a sub for almost 2 years. In that time my favorite records were De La Soul’s 3 Feet High & Rising and DLSID. I quit them before the price hike mostly because their choices didn’t always lineup with mine and the last thing I need is records on my shelf that I don’t listen to. $46 per record(monthly) definitely isn’t a good value. A 3 month sub at $40 per record isn’t good value. Especially when a lot of these records are going to be issued outside of VMP for less money and they’re the same pressing.
Just joined last month and this was actually my first record from VMP! I’ve only bought one more since then and so far so good. Unfortunately the one I bought had some skips but it’s not the end of the world. I think for the quality of their packaging and records, it’s worth the money. I’d say they’re probably the nicest and coolest looking records you can really get right now. If you’re a record junkie like myself, then VMP will only make things worse 😂
They'll issue you a replacement if you contact them. I took a short video of the tick resulting from a defect on an On Sale record (John Cale) I'd purchased and they sent me a replacement at no additional charge.
