I thought Junaid Khan’s acting was pretty natural. He still has more to learn but he is clearly dedicated to his craft. He is an artist to watch out for - intense gaze, delightful acting, amazing screen presence, charm and an eye for a good script - I think he could be big one day.

He has theatre background, theatre style is more animated since they are performing live so I feel he needs to work on camera acting but overall a great debut. He has potential.

i think i disagree with you here. This movie was smooth. All the actors were great. Nothing awkward in Junaid’s performance. For first performance, it was great.

With all due respect to Jammy.. I have a completely different view on this movie.. I felt Junaid did a great job and I was not even aware he was Amir’s son, I only watched it for Jaideep and I was pleasantly surprised by the characters and their dedication. This is a very good movie but will probably not get the fame it requires cuz of the topic it speaks on.

See now thats a star kid launch. I didnt even know hes a star kid till i googled him. He acted really well for his first movie, he will only get better if given a fair chance. We have very bad nepo products in our industry, I mean we all watched that unforgettable series of Zoya Akhtar with all the nepo babies. This was different and was a very interesting subject.

Junaid was much better even if you compare it those of Sara and jhanvi who have practiced in almost ten movies

It is a brilliant movie with excellent acting,superb editing and brilliant dialogues. Did not feel slow at all, something most dramas can come across. did not expect a new comer junaid khan to hold himself against someone like Jaideep, That man is a legend, give him the oscars already.

I saw the movie today. While I agree with most analysis, I think the original history itself was captivating and made me overlook the weaknesses. The makers have missed a chance of making a great film. They were bogged down by the political atmosphere and yet credit to makers for making a movie in the current political atmosphere.

Just finished watching and I'd recommend everyone to give it a shot. It's tragic and cathartic for the nation that what happened in the 19th century is still applicable and relevant to the times we are in in the 21st century. It's done fairly and MUST be watched by the older people for sure since they keep up the older hideous 'rituals' and uphold the worst twisted 'religious' malpractices.

I loved the movie because everyone looked like their part and performed well. In my opinion, Junaid did a great job for a first timers though yes, there were some moments he did seem awkward, but I loved his dialogue delivery.

Unlike other star kids, im surprised that junaid chose not so commercial and featured movie instead he chose more of an arthouse or parallel cinema type of movie. Unlike aamir khan, who was launched by the commercial QSQT in late 80s

I didn't notice any cinematic flaws that Jimmy explained since I watched it without any expectations, and it was on OTT.

I feel its more of a yrf problem, they try to make movies on social issues but really fails to deliver it. Take that Ranveer Singh movie for example, can’t even remember the name.

I think Shyam Singha Roy did it great. Even though it was a 30-40 min sequence, they really explored many taboo themes in a cohesive way. It felt so natural with the main leads performance (nani & sai pallavi) and setting, colours, dance performances, costumes, etc.

I really liked Junaid Khan's acting ..it looked beyond acting as if he is actually Karsan. Shalini Pandey's acting was also so impressive.

I liked the rawness. You can see potential in Junaid. Someone who has done theatre and appreciates the art form I know it is very different from being in front of camera but a good actor is a good actor. I just felt his eyes and actions could have shown more of the emotional heartbreak.

It was an amazing film highlighting a very important issue. They have done an excellent job both junaid and jaideep as mahraaj. I feel like this you have bashed junaid Khan for no reason. His performance was moving and I really liked the fact he didn't use his father's name or any fancy marketing campaigns to get attention.

Jammy, it looks like you might miss out on another gem from mollywood this week as it has limited screen and no release outside Kerala yet. Gaganachari is such a wild ride man! I hope you can catch it on big screen somehow. You might not get the hidden puns and references but its an absolute blast!

What a great and truthful movie, which hanged on to the reality or the truth it has to showcase. Not a single moment was lost. Instead of showcasing that as just a debutant for Amir's son, it should be given a separate space!! Bollywood has finally started to take off in a new direction. Its high time they should and right so, led by such a great and important incident.

Junaid was good,but the problem is, everyone else around him is soo much better that he comes across as a slightly more competent male version of Alamzeb's Sharmin Segal.

I just don't get why everyone on Twitter and other reviews are raving about Junaid's acting. Honestly, I found it pretty below average. I felt his performance lacked depth and authenticity. His expressions seemed forced, and he didn't really capture the emotional nuances of the character. Am I the only one who feels this way?

This is the first time that I'm disagreeing with Anmol.. The sets looks cheap.. is because it's an OTT movie headed by a newcomer.. they have to think about the budget as well. Junaid is a tall and non social guy.. just like me and we do have an awkward posture and weird personality but I think that adds on to the personality of karshan. If Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt can become superstars because of their mannerisms.. why should we judge Junaid after Just one movie? Who knows these mannerisms make him stand out among the catwalking starkids. Yes junaids acting is uneven and awkward.. but it's his first movie. He didn't undergo year long training like the Archie's cast.. and I think he performed really well compared to the debut movies of other star kids.. So we should give him some time. You complained that the actual court case sequence was only 30 min long after mentioning that the court let this movie pass only because it shows the events leading to the case and how it doesn't target any community or religion. I think if thet had shown the court case any longer by questioning the Maharaj and the ways of the haveli.. the movie might never had gotten a release. So I think the makers did a very good job. Yes there are lots of areas to improve but for a low budget film..headed by a newcomer and shot in a pandemic they did a very good job.

I remember long back when I was in 7th standard Fahadh faasil debut movie Kai ettum doorathe and later movies were flop. In kerala people used to refer to him as Fasils Son and even a cameo of mamooty couldn't save the movie. The man did his homework and came back with a vengeance now the whole country knows him and refers to him as Fahadh fasil the great actor.

I feel the portrayal of the beautiful scene masked as SA becomes a great point of contrast. I agree with you when you say that Delhi crime preserves the sensitivity of the situation and the filmmakers should have done the same here as well. This scene required a little more thought to find a better approach to shoot the SA part. The fact that JJ feels that he is doing nothing wrong has to be depicted.

I watched it yesterday and found it to be a good movie. Junaid Khan did a good job as a debutante. In fact all the actors have done a good job.

Honestly, while watching the movie, I found Junaid's dialogue delivery to be completely on point but his expressions definitely were stiff, especially during one on one scenes with Jaidev... For that man, there was no need for dialogue to prove his skill... He simply smiled throughout the time, karsan let out all his frustration. And I could feel the anger in his voice but then hai face and eyes looked blank. Nevertheless, he did well as a debutant and the choice of a serious and sensible plot rather than some problematic masala movie for his first performance sounds impressive.

Shalini pandey is a very good actor. But unfortunately her first film flopped like anything and her second film had a very hushed netflix release.

I thought the movie was very interesting.. with good performances from all . Specially junaids debut was way better for a 1st time actor...
