there's no guarantee that he would've managed to raise a child to supposedly teenage maturity behind katara's back, so if anything, katara being the mother would make enough sense; there's nothing really stopping katara from being the mother
Exactly. The video literally showed baby Tenzin in the family photo. 😂 I'm not placing much belief in this theory when immediately something he's using as evidence was proven incorrect in his own video. BUT it's a cool theory, just not canon.
Let's not forget the red lotus was already created before Zaheer joined and P'li was a weapon for a war lord; which is why she's with Zaheer. He helped her escape.
@15jewjew agreed also remember what tenzin about the avatar learning how to bend. Using this knowledge we can assume that due to zaheer,s airbender like personality and his ememnce spirituality and study of airbender culture that when he gained airbending it came easy to him because despite just gaining these abilities he already had the mindset and personality of an airbender
It always seemed to me that Zaheer studied Airbending culture so much that he was basically an airbender, only without the actual bending. He studied airbending as just a martial art without the magic, like in the real world. That's why he picked it up so quickly.
Me not one second into the video reading this comment NO NO NO NOT IN THE SPRIT OR MATERIAL WORLD IS THIS POSSIBLE! AANG IS WAAAAY TO LOYAL AND ZAHEER?! THAT IS JUST CURSED!
Also Zaheer did all of his studying and had all of his obsession, but was clearly losing the 1-v-1 with Tenzin... y'know... the actual airbending master
Here is what I believe, Zaheer is an orphan raised by air acolytes in the southern air temple. He was Avatar Aang's star pupil, so Kya recognised him even though she didn't participate in the battle against the Red Lotus when Korra was three. He soon became obsessed with Guru Laghima's teachings but in a twisted way. He saw how people like Yakone run rampant in republic city and how he used his power to terrify the masses and How 99% world's power is with one person. This is his turn into anarchy. His beliefs twisted he then met Xai Bao the founder of the Red Lotus who supported his Ideology and helped him form a team to capture the next avatar and raise her according to their beliefs.
They didn't want to raise the avatar they wanted to wipe the governments and the avatar but Kya recognized him probably because Tenzin was one of the people to save her with Sokka and Zuko and she is his sister
@@avapilsen Yeah not to mention everyone Kya knew spent time trying to get them to talk I wish they would have done more like shown a flashback to them stopping them the first time around
1. Tenzin wasn't the first born, he was actually the third. 2. Zaheer never created the red Lotus, Zaheer emphatically stated that the red Lotus was created by a man called Aiwei after he thought that the white lotus had failed by comming out publicly to serve the avatar. 3. Zaheer also stated that both he and Tarloq found out about Raava and Vatsu together. I really doubt Zaheer is Aangs secret son. The best theory would be that he was just a man in a powerful dark organization with access to a huge arrray of knowledge. Plus he has a natural commection to the spirit world and also plenty of time on his hands to practise airbending in his prison. Amd i highly doubt Katara would just watch as Aang hid away his own son😅
@@danielbanson3179 The Red Lotus is a global, militant, and self-proclaimed anarchist organization, founded by Xai Bau as a splinter faction of the Order of the White Lotus
I believe that Zaheer was born a non-bender. He loved the ideology of Guru Laghima. He wanted to join the Aang and Tenzin at their estate in Republic City, and Aang, seeing this earthbender and his radical beliefs, Aang thought he was too radical and decided to decline his offer. Zaheer, struck with grief and resentment, travelled back to the earth kingdom. On the way, he met a man named Xai Bao on a ship, and learned that their ideology were the same and joined Xai Bao and got some partners to ambush the avatar.
That doesn't make sense, there were no airbenders except aang and his son so who woulda said that to Zaheer, who woulda sent him to the northern air temple, what conversation would he be hearing since no monks were alive
@@rishypantina7527 you just edited your comment lol😭 you had said that zaheer was born an earthbender. i just said that he was not a bender when he was born. he got airbending After harmonic convergence.
I would’ve guessed that he was Aang’s adoptive son. A street kid that Aang decided to take in and teach about air nomad philosophy. However, him just being a rouge air acolyte makes more sense because it could explain why the acolytes weren’t mentioned in the legend of korra, maybe Zaher wiped them all out.
I think the Air Acolyte theory is more likely, but I'm not so sure about the exile. I think he started as an Air Acolyte and then joined the Red Lotus. Maybe not out of resentment to Aang but because of him taking his teachings the wrong way. He probably joined the Air Acolytes as a young teen (maybe 15-16?) and then left for the Red Lotus when he was 18 or 19. He might've been a close student of Aang's and he taught him some things about the world, like how not all of the world's leaders are good people like Zuko. Zaheer knew that Avatar Aang and the Air Acolytes in general wouldn't accept if he decided to take a violent approach, but he heard about the Red Lotus's beliefs and saw an alignment. So he left the Air Acolytes to then join the Red Lotus.
Their family photo is as clear as day; Tenzin is the youngest. It literally showed a young Bumi (probably like 10), a little Kya (like 4 or 5), and a baby Tenzin
yeah i thought that was not right, but maybe he meant first airbender? bumi didnt get airbending, kya got water bending so it was tenzin who happened to get airbending
Zaheer was a good fighter in general. Another popular theory is that he was always a competent fighter and just incorporated the air bending. Rewatching the way he fights really makes it seem like it was just his general martial arts enhanced by gusts of air.
1. Zaheer did not found the red lotus 2. it has been said that Zaheer and Unalaq join the red Lotus in their teen years 3. the red Lotus wise men that who told about Avatar Wan, Ravva and Vato
@@roronoazoro8789he means that in the video it is stated by him that tenzin is his first son but that's false since bumi is actually the first son of aang and katara tenzin is actually the youngest
I think Zaheer looks young, even younger than Bumi to be Aang's first son. But yeah, the theory about him studying under Aang would not surprise me if it was true.
Yeah this is a reach. 1. Tenzin was the youngest. A quick wiki search would’ve clarified this and he is referred to as “little brother” by Bumi and Kya on a couple of occasions. 2. If Zaheer were to be older than Bumi, the eldest, then he’d be in the 60’s ballpark. He’s not that old. Tenzin is the youngest and he’s 52 in book 3. 3. You can’t imagine Aang cheating on his wife with a straight face. Be real lol
I definitely think that if zahir was aangs son zahir would know and would’ve said something in the show. It would’ve destroyed tenzin and his view on his family, dad, and himself for being to oldest born
I mean, it does seem interesting that Zaheer knows so much about air nomad culture as well as philosophy and is an excellent master of the ability despite only recently getting his ability. Him being Aang's first child does not seem too far fetched and neither does being a rogue air acolyte. There is one thing though. Aang could not give someone bending even if he wanted to. He does not have that power. He can either restore someone's bending or strip them of it. With Lin, her bending was restored. With Ozai, he stripped him of his bending permanently. Only the lion turtles had the power to grant someone the power of the elements.
If Zaheer’s bending was taken away at the first place, I don’t think Harmonic Convergence would restore it, I remember some benders(Amon’s victims) in book 3 still needed Korra for them to bend again.
Aang never seemed to ever see himself as the one to revive his race as if that was a life goal. I think Aang, although he would like an airbender child, never made that his prime intention. Partly bc ALL original air nomads were benders (the smallest population and the only nation with this) so there was a chance any children he has would automatically be biracial and lack that automatic airbending inheritance. I'm definitely sure he wanted to sire one but more for the well being of his future life-- you NEED a bender to properly display and pass on the art but also bc that world literally could not function properly without the balance of the four.
I feel like the second theory makes more sense than the first one. Zaheer being an air acolyte who believed the avatar was selfishly holding on to power is much more plausible than Kataang or just Aang straight up abandoning their child. Especially with how they had to live without their parents. The only problem is that it should've been a fact from the get go. If this theory was to be confirmed then that meant that nobody knew who Zaheer was before the red lotus, despite being one of aang's students
I just feel like the timeline doesn't add up. If Zaheer is to be the first born son of Aang, born before Bumi and Tenzin and Kya, he would have to be really old. And if he was an air acolyte, again, either really really old or runs the risk of Tenzin and Kya and Bumi especially at the very least knowing his past.
Terrrrrrrrible theory. The creators already said Zaheer was instantly good at airbending because he was a martial arts master. He was able to use his skills as a fighter to bend air in a more aggressive manner. Also, as community and family oriented as the water tribes are Katara would never have allowed Aang to alienate their first child from the family. And I just could never buy into the idea that Aang had a child with someone else. He got the woman he wanted, even struggled with the idea she might not feel the same toward him a few times, that and being a monk and all that. No. Zaheer is definitely not Aang's kid
Yeah only thing off about this theroy is that the red lotus was already started a few years after the white lotus it is litterally mentioned in korra how they were original founded before zaheer's group, they mention that zaheer wanted to kidnapp korra when she was three an tried an failed but that plan was years in the making as he stated.
But wouldn't Zaheer have one of those like idk "hello brother" o..or " u look just father". But this Theory doesn't make sense anyway cuz Zaheer is at least 40ish and Tenzin is 51.
Or he got his airbending after the harmonic convergence. He was just a random dude who was obssessed with airbenders after aang released the information after the 100 year war.
I think ming hua joined zaheer because she was made fun of having tentacle arms and when she met Zaheer zaheer had open arms and brung her in the group reasons why she helped kidnap korra is because zaheer did so much for her so this is a token of her gratitude
Dismissed. #SorryNotSorry If I'm not mistaking... Zaheer is younger than Tenzin and Aang and Katara were each other's loves. Aang wouldn't have kept that from Katara and she's family oriented, She wouldn't have kept that hidden. Especially to Tenzin, Kya and Bumi. IJS
The first theory is dumber than rocks and i won't pretend to entertain it. The second theory is more plausible but won't work either. Zaheer would have been way too young to study as an acolyte under Aang, plus, he joined the red lotus at a young age. The red lotus split from the white lotus, and it was founded by some guy whose name I can't remember. Korra was 70 years after Aang, so by the time the red lotus was created, Aang would have been too old anyway and would be less likely to have a secret child. I think a more plausible theory is that one of the air acolytes split off and taught their son (Zaheer) everything about airbending and then Zaheer joined the red lotus after that.
I don’t think Aang’s gonna cheat that easily, it’s too dark for an airbender. Not a spiritual thing to do, so if he did cheat I think he would no longer be able to airbend. Airebending is an element of freedom, him going dark would imprison him with guilt based on his personality. I know Zaheer did worse but his principles are twisted, making him guiltless.
You said that Zaheer created the red lotus, that's not right. He said that someone else created it when he met Korra at the spirit world, at the time his partners tried to kidnap Korra in the desert. I don't remember the name of the person that created this, but I remember he said that.
Second version I think, I just can't imagine Aang doing that to Katara or his own child. That will be completely out of the development and caracter that is being presented form the beginning
no way pi lee is related to combustion man, we found out in the books combustion benders are like a secret gang, assuming they are related because they have the same sub bending doesnt make sense(also the timeline kinda doesnt add up)
One of the problems with this theory is that Zaheer has stated that he and unalaq both studied together in the red lotus (when they learnt about raava and Vaatu) but otherwise good video
Alternative thought: The air nomads that didn't settle in temples probably had a few children "out of place", and might have resulted in a young man that was in search of his heritage and bringing justice to the avatar - who was ultimately responsible for not stopping the genocide against them.
I think what happened is after the firebender strike Air benders tried to find any remaining surviving air benders. A few who were born in the are had air bending blood but no powers managed to escape and watched everything destroyed while praying for the avatar to show up but never did. Then much later on a miracle happened and Zaheer was born into the hatred of what happened.
Yeah I dont buy this at all. Zaheer and Bumi knowing how to fight has nothing to do with it, airbending depends on spirituality. That's why Bumi and Korra both have trouble learning it. Zaheer is also a monologuer, the fact that he didn't ever mention Aang bring his father pretty much 100% confirms this isn't true for me. Also the whole, Aang didn't do the same thing with Tenzin angle.
i have a slightly different theory: aang actually gave him airbending, but then zaheer still went on to do his less good things so he took it away and never gave it to anyone else in fear of a repeat of that
What's not mentioned here is that if we're going with Zaheer being Aang's son, it should be Zaheer is Aang and Katara's son. They kept the secret altogether and even Zaheer kept it.
I feel like the second theory makes more sence in explaining how Zaheer was already so proficent in using air-bending when he got it because if he was Aang's son... even if he had hidden it from people, Katara at least would have known. Though, if he was a banished acolyte.... again, some people would have heard of him too.
From my understanding the air nomads were against any form of force... Even their societal structure did not practice force, only protection of one's Own Way of Life. However government is a form of force... Zahir took the concept that none should be forced in a way to mean that he should forcibly remove those that use force... That is where he differs from the air nomads... They would probably agree with his goals but disagree with his methods from my understanding of their culture.
I dont think pli is related to combustion man but it is a possibility that the shooting boom is genetic but it could also be the firebending result of people trying to make a firebending avatar using spirits or dark spirits. Maybe when wan stopped the fight between the firebenders and spirits a firebender and spirt wanted to recreate that power so they merged and became the firstsparky sparky boom man/combustion man
From the video description, "Aang has a secret son in avatar the last airbender / legend of korra and I can prove it." Sorry, The Avatarist, you lied, and failed absolutely in proving that Zaheer was Aang's son, in fact you shot that theory down within a few seconds of starting to describe it. You called Tenzin Aangs first son, that suggests you know very little about Aang's family, Tenzin was Aang's youngest child, the firstborn son was Bumi, who seemed to be about a decade older than Tenzin, so Aang would have been in his early 20s when Bumi was born. Your ideas would put Zaheer in his mid to late 40s when he first tried kidnapping Korra and late 50s or early 60s when the Red Lotus escaped, to me, he'd seemed of similar age to Tenzin, and younger than Bumi. The second theory is much more plausible but I don't like the idea of Aang refusing to energybend Zaheer into an airbender, if Aang could energybend airbending into non benders, when Korra picked up Tenzin and his children would not have been the only Airbenders, Aang would have gifted bending to the top air acolytes, perhaps after 5 years service and proving to be of the correct attitude. As Zuko said when Korra asked him for advice, the rebirth of the Air Nomads was Aangs greatest wish. I think it is safe to assume if Aang thought he could bring airbending back with energy bending Aang would have done so. I think a better theory would be Zaheer learned everything he could about airbending, practising airbending kata/forms (perhaps even under Aang's supervision), which is why he already knew how to airbend well enough that he was able to (despite being massively outclassed) hold Tenzin off for 20 seconds, not long after harmonic convergence gave him the power.
I can't see Zaheer being Aang's kid, since nobody could imagine Katara allowing her child to be banished, let alone Aang banishing a child, especially with both of them having seen what happened to Zuko. An Air Acolyte that took things too far? Maybe.
Well you of all people should know the Air Acolytes exist from the comics, so there is reason to believe he just was passionate about the air nomad history.
nobody caused harmonic convergence. he just opened up the battlefield where two spirits would fight during that time frame. harmonic convergence is a celestial event. all though, considering the moon is tethered to a spirit, it is reasonable to assume the others may be tethered to spirits as well. I wonder if the spirits make bets on who they think will win the battle. if so, maybe harmonic convergence is actually more of a pro wrestling match that the spirits set up to happen once every 10000 years.
That theory would just destroy teh picute of someone searching for a balanced world. Because then Zaheer would be just a mistreated child who wants vengeance tbh.
Cool theory.Agree . Imagine Tenzin, Bumi and kya by learning trey have half brother who is Zaheer Aang'son, their father's illegitimate son. Absolutely, they would react very harshly, not only them but Korra would've believe it her enemy is her previous life's son.
Honestly that earth queen in legend of Kora had it coming from the start of the earth queens own introduction to the whole series and while killing is normally bad but this is one of those times that I would have said yes to killing
Wait, there is one thing that you forgot. Aang would have to keep Zaheer secret from Katara. If Katara knew, she would tell Korra his backstory. But I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be true.
You wouldn’t even have an opportunity to be surprised or not because this zaheer theory is just stupid there’s already a bunch of comments tearing it apart the entire theory is “oh this guy is a good airbender so he must be aang’s son”
I think that after Zaheer born Aang wanted to show him some of the Guru culture and they found an book of every teaching of Air Nation guru and they got in Laghima page and after this Zaheer at 3 am couldn't sleep and he wanted to read more of the Laghima and then he discovered Laghima's attack and he made sure that he'll avenge Laghima and he tried to kill aang and break the reencarnation cycle he used the most secret and brutal tecniques that Aang didn't know that and he taken off Zaheer's bending and banished him from his house and he created a strong hate for the Avatar history and tried to create the Red Lotus and when he discovered that Aang passed away he had the chance to break the cycle for killing Korra when she was 5 and here he is. In the White Lotus prison
Frankly the first theory is complete jargin. First off Aang would have too cheat on Katara. Second Aang would have to banish his son. For god sake he let Zuko join the group. But the second one is believable and honestly I like it. But honestly he also wasn't like a master or anything like if it wern't for the rest of the white lotus Tenzin would have wiped the floor with Zaheer.
I like the rogue Acolyte Idea and I never thought about giving someone bending. Though Korra mentions that the Red is an offshoot of the White Lotus. To make it work, Zaheer would need to be a White lotus, a troublemaker, who was assigned to Aang in an attempt to teach him humility. Aang manages to do this by making him an Air Acolyte. Zaheer becomes a real deal monk, enough to be the favorite, with his second being Tenzin. I assume Aang would be interested in the idea of giving someone bending and maybe even agreeing to it at first before communicating with his past lives, learning about Wan and Braava, and deciding to go back on his word in a way. Thus causing a young Zaheer to lash out and attack Aang and maybe his children. This would cause Aang to Banish him. Zaheer creates the Red lotus and the rest of the theory goes from there.
"and spirits in general, he is kina weird" :))))) I think the second theory makes a lot more sense. Zahir would be Jealous of Aang's kids and would become obsessed with air nomad's culture to try to win Aang's attention but not getting it as Tenzin, gets him to want to hurt Avatar's cycle and others.
I once wrote a fanfiction with this idea. The Kyoshi warriors offer themselves to Aang for breeding and Zaheer is the child of Aang and Ty Lee. In my story, Zaheer couldn't bend, but is exactly as obsessed with Air Nomad culture and freedom as he is. The freedom part is due to his mother. How did the Kyoshi warriors “break” Aang's loyalty to Katara? Actually quite simple: Reason (lack of aribenders) and appeal to Air Nomad traditions. Faithfulness was not a virtue to Air Nomads, quite the contrary, attachment was frowned upon.
Ultimately this is the only theory that explains how Zaheer was such an airbending master right away. It takes YEARS of practice to do what he did, and lets not forget, Zaheer even managed to unlock the ultimate form of Air Bending, free flight. After 4 weeks of airbending? really?? Him ALREADY being an airbender and master as a child, who got his bending taken away would make a lot of sense. And being the avatars first, perhaps illegitimate son, kinda works for that theory. Obviously Katara is not his mother. But then again how old did Aang get? 100 years? And he has kids in their 40ies or 50ies? That leaves a LOT of room... why DID Katara and Aang wait so long?
In the comic that take place a year after the 100 year war Aang thought people about the air nomads and their culture and saher probably listened and learned how aang moved
Too many issues with your theory, Zaheer didn’t start the red lotus he joined them Xai Bao started it. Secondly Tenzin was the youngest of Aang’s children and lastly, when Zaheer meets Tenzin he says it’s an honor to finally meet an air bending master suggesting he’d never met one before so how can he be the son of one?
