not sure if it's a concious acting choice on Dannys part but eveytime Robert manhandles Aaron a bit, pushes him up against a wall for example, Aaron smiles/smirks a bit and it looks like he really enjoys it :P it's just one of those microexpressions that are faint but says a lot and really makes me impressed with Danny Millers acting.
Yep definitely, I totally agree. I love those little hints of subtext in how they would be in the bedroom. Robert seems to lead in the sexual and romantic scenes and Aaron follows his lead. It's the first time we see Aaron in a more submissive role in a relationship, and the way Danny plays it is that he likes being handled by Robert who clearly likes handling Aaron. Robert comes across as highly sexed and always looking at Aaron like he's something to eat which just creates a crazy heat and tension between them. That's why they're addictive viewing because it's also about what they're not saying (body language). There's so much hidden detail for a pre watershed conservative show like Emmerdale. They get away with a lot, especially the sexual innuendo. Their affair was really hot and steamy for a male/male couple. For me it's actually a rare case where a BI/Gay relationship on an English soap is portrayed the way a heterosexual one would be with real relationship drama and raw emotional intimacy. The characters aren't walking stereotypes, and they are both complex. I only found their story recently but i always heard about them. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as i clearly am, and it's because they have so much chemistry and sexual tension.

there should be a zero part. All Robron thing started at the moment Robert asked Aaron if he fancied his bird. Aaron said something like "I will fancy her the moment I stop being gay" . Robert's smile at that moment told everything. The rest, well, is history
LOL yeah i loved that moment. You could actually see the lightbulb come on over Robert's head with Aaron's gay reveal. He told Katey that there wasn't anyone remotely interesting in the village to cheat with on Chrissy. Then Aaron drops the bombshell. Robert looks so turned on and already has a to do list made. To do = Aaron. He just starts pursuing him and eye fucking him like crazy. Even when Aaron shoves him against the wall when Robert offers him money for finding the vintage car. The camera just lingers on Robert's reaction after Aaron leaves = massively turned on, sees a challenge in moody Aaron and wants to dominate him. And it's also the first time you actually see Aaron in a relationship where he's more submissive and wants to be handled. I think the sexiest thing about Robron is that they only have to look at each other and there's sparks flying. That tension and heat they create is explosive and i honestly think a big part of it is how Ryan plays Robert. Cocky, charismatic and highly sexed. You see that in the sexual and romantic scenes it's mostly Ryan leading and Danny reacting. I think Ryan shows a lot more comfort and fearlessness with portraying the gay scenes. That's not to say Danny is bad, he isn't, in fact since his return he's greatly improved with how he portrays the gay side of Aaron. I remember him with Jackson and Ed and you could see the struggle and discomfort, and of course he was very young too but i think now a huge part of that improvement is about the partnership and natural chemistry with Ryan. They're both great and have created a memorable Bi/Gay couple.
Juan Baker I'd argue even before that. Starts when Aaron gives Robert Chrissie's ring back and gives Robert one of his signature smirks. Camera stays on Robert and you can see he's been hit in the solar plexus!!! That's what I LOVE about this couple. The little give aways.
LOL I came here for the same reason, wanted to rewatch that Lay-by scene again! Sooo sexy! And what a romantic gesture from both of them! I LOVE it! Robron forever! :3
Their first kiss ... and they had no idea what was to come. Aaron is a great actor ... he oozes total excitement while trying to play it cool ... he's so angry, but scared he'll be rejected again and he can't make any response, but as several people have commented he gets excited when Robert takes control, even though Robert is a bit rough. He is totally smitten by Robert's confidence, success and arrogance and so excited by the prospect of a forbidden and secret tryst. This man, Robert, is unlike any other he has come across and the though of having sex with him is exhilarating. Great acting by both actors in a truly memorable scene!
@@angelaholmes8888 Cheers Angela ... yes, this is one of the best scenes but they had many other memorable moments. Also, the script-writing was top class for this period of the series, and the two actors, Danny and Ryan, develop an extraordinary chemistry which is rare in Soaps. I've seen the two of them being interviewed together on their roles and they seems to have a strong friendship and rapport, even though they are both Straight in real life. Just by looking at the body language in the sexual and romantic scenes between them i'm convinced with how Robert seems to lead and instigate with Aaron reacting and following that Robert definitely tops. Add in Robert's personality - cocky, self assured, need for control and alpha through and through compared to Aaron's personality - Alpha bravado hiding an emotional and very vulnerable nature, and i don't see versatility between them. If you watch Aaron in this relationship you see that's he's much different than he was with Jackson and Ed, and Danny definitely shows this with his acting choices. Aaron is more submissive and vulnerable in this relationship. Robert takes more of a charge e.g. shoving Aaron against his car in the first kiss scene, Danny plays that scene with Aaron being taken aback and then turned on with being manhandled by Robert. The subtext there is definitely that Aaron likes Robert's alpha side. It happens again when Aaron damages Robert's car and Robert is pissed and they shove at each other and then Robert shoves Aaron against the wall and kisses him. Danny does it again - aroused with alpha Robert, then Robert orders Aaron upstairs. Now watch the rest of their sexual and romantic interaction and you can see the difference in Aaron's s shoves to Robert's. Ryan plays it like he's turned on and wants to dominate, and Danny plays it like he's turned on and wants to BE dominated. Robert takes control and Aaron clearly likes that. I do believe Aaron has topped before with others but with Robert and how much in love with him he is that Aaron is more of a power bottom who likes being taken care of by Robert not just in a sexual way but also in the romantic sense.

I know its a M/M relationship, but Robert seems to adopt more of a 'male' role in their relationship in the sense that he's the dominate, bossy, hunter gatherer one whereas with Aaron he takes more of the 'female' role, in that he seems more caring, gentle & softer. Although later on in the relationship, they do seem a bit more even. U start to see Roberts more gentle, caring side & Aarons more dominant, manly side xx
