The halved rythm at 1:57, that's not in the album track, gives me chills under my backbone. An absolute banger from this man live, the most powerful slowing down you can ever see.
2:40 The fact that he lost two sticks back to back and flawlessly grabbed another without missing a beat, is truly mesmerizing. You got yourself a good one, VF. ❤️
Think he only lost the one. Stick broke in half and then he chucked the butt of the stick away. Still impressive as fuck that he never missed a beat though.
@@drummerjosh901I’m pretty sure he loses one a few seconds before the broken one, unless you don’t count the broken stick as lost. Idk, I play strings😅
man was such a shame they never put drum cams on from back in the days. i remember watching the bonus dvd that came with one of the cds... think it was tocs but spence and tim said that arron was the best drummer, basically carried the group. i honestly was sad when Arron left, even tho they replaced him DD who was sick in normajean, but like they said arron was just another beast. Thank you piggy, you inspired me to play drums man, my high school was years was nothing but UO, and NJ.
Aaron has always been an incredibly energetic performer but watching this video, it's evident that he's worked his tail off at upping his technical abilities. The raw emotion is still there but these days he's playing with a noticeably increased level of precision and intent. It's awesome witnessing him continuing to up his game this far into his career.
You can't teach passion. The dude is filthy, Paul Koehler from Silverstein is another MONSTER in this genre. Omg... I love good spacing with drummers. Shows more maturity than tons of fills and crap every second.
Just the drum kit in general sounds amazing. Back in the day the deep beefy dead sound was the thing to have. I always hated it😂 I like cranked snares and punchy sustaining Toms
After LITSOS came out, one of their Australian tours, he had this 14 x 8 "gold over brass" snare that he took with him on tour, and that live snare sound is absolutely insane. Idk if the video is still on RU-vid, but it was under the Truth Custom Drums Australia channel.
Probably there the whole time. Youre hearing the actual drum. In the studio engineers like to smash and compress the shit out of it when most of the time it would sound better just mic'd and EQ'd a little. haha
I love how he grew out of having that rack tom so far to the left and flat. I don’t have a problem with it being flat, as a flat kit is fun to play, but his rack was so far off to the left that it almost looked silly.
Its like if Animal from the Muppets was a real person. His energy and the way he consistently hits the drums so hard is incredible to watch. I remember watching the Lost in the Sound of Separation “making of” dvd, and the producer got Aaron to play a shallow kick (I think it was 18 or 20 inches) instead of a 28in. kick like he had been because it would sound punchier. I’m glad Aaron stuck with it ever since because his kick sounds so good here.
brather my favret part when het cymbal mega hardd, verry good at smesh, so much so i want all cymbal hes own for mineself. now im gonna hard smesh cymval and bassdrum! xbreakdownsx big spirit! all best in future Aaron!
This band makes INCREDIBLE music…. For DECADES. Aaron is such a natural heavy drummer. It’s awesome. He inspired me to beat the sh out of my drums and pis off everyone playing with me 😂
