Saw them live well over a decade ago. My dude hit a keyboard handstand and didn’t skip a beat. That image will forever be one of the coolest things things ingrained in my mind from my blurry teen years.
@@madskrillz2If I remember correctly he said that when he joined some of the old songs didn't have any keyboard parts and he didn't just want to stand there so he wanted to bring as much energy as possible to make up for it! I could be misremembering but I love that he's going as hard as ever over 2 decades later!!
Dallas Taylor sounded better with the band but hey I am glad to see him making a comeback with maylene and the sons of disaster after his accident, their new music video thrush is incredible.
They are literally in their 40's and look at them! these daddys put out a lot more energy than all of that young crowd together. You know what? I clicked this video after seeing an old 2002 old og underoath video. Man, the changing of times... so sad these days are never come back, and its not because of the band, they put almost the same energy than back then, but the crowd man, wtf. You spend much money to got these spots and see the show, got this crazy energy show in front of you, with the frontman coming right next to you and... you do nothing but put out your phone (?) seriously wtf.
Sick show pumped to see them in a few weeks. Interesting it looks like they are rolling with one guitarist, Tim, given the recent eh vacancy. I was expecting them to have a second but it sounds like they are maybe just going with a backing track?
@bryanbaez4412 yeah they gave no reason as to why they kicked James out but the 2 new songs suck so maybe they regret it. Aaron threw some shade at him when a fan asked about it so apparently it was pretty ugly.
@@JohnDoe-mv2be oh really ? What did Aaron say. Also, I rather like the new songs, but Spencer’s singing has gotten so unpleasantly nasally and raspy that it ruins it for me. I wish he’d go back to singing like how he did on disambiguation or even sleepwave
@@carverlabarberaofficial yeah I know. Maybe they can fire Tim with no notice too and Tim’s parts could sound just as perfect. Also, Chris just jumps around and might as well just be let go and put on a backing track. And Grant, well, at this point you may as well replace him with a track too.
can't blame them for using auto tune. it always sucked hearing them live back in the day and hearing aaron struggle to hit those notes while smashing the shit out of the drums
Spencer's keeping it real. Having a cord all taped up on his mic has been his signature since he joined Underoath 19 years ago. He used to swing his microphone around like other vocalists at the time did. Quite a few vocalists jacked his tapped up mic style because of how cool it looks.
Falling in Reverse was the headliner. This crowd was totally not there for Underoath. But I should say...even as a 55-year-old, I didn't know much about Underoath (despite being a lifelong metal head).
fair enough i mean these bands started out in the last 15 years and part of the warped tour scene which was mostly younger people. I forgot how many new fans go to shows now for these bands that have been around for awhile cause they make radio rock/metal now@@LauraRocksDenver
What is up with the T-Pain level autotune?! This used to be one of the best live rock bands in the world. Without a second guitar and with autotune BS, they've sunk to depths I never imagined. I'm disappointed.
He's gotta play the shit out of those drums and is also expected to hit each note pitch perfect? I think its great that he is using it to help maintain the sound since those vocals are really important with maintaining the feel of the song and most people that come out to see them are expecting a sound similar to what they grew up with for the nostalgia. Considering this audio isn't coming from the board I think they sound fantastic.
@@cowboy_henk 100%. Aaron's pushing 40 (apparently in 3 days!), basically hasn't stopped making music for the last 25 years, same for basically the whole band. Spencer honestly still sounds great. Plus Aaron is one of *very* few drummer+lead vocalist combos I can think of. That kind of breath control is insane. And even without a second guitarist, this still sounds fantastic IMO, and DTGL was one of my absolute favorite albums when it came out. They're still doing what they love. Just glad I've still got a chance to see 'em again lol.
@@AdamSlyter Dude still sounds awesome IDC what anybody saids. IDC what anybody saids about Underoath either because they are awesome and will always be awesome.
Red Rocks isn't a place for moshing if that's what you're thinking. It's elevated and people can't mosh or crowd surf there - it's too dangerous. It's a venue full of steps.
The vocal tuning live is over the top and stupid. Underoath was one of my favorite bands back in middle/high school. These dudes just aren’t the same…musically and ideologically
It is impossible to mosh or have a pit at Red Rocks. It's all rows that ascend up, and there is no space, nor is it safe. It never happens, just because of the layout of the venue.
