I think Aaron Gordon is a prime example of an extremely talented player who was originally a franchise level player but couldn't quite be "the guy" but had the potential to be. But then, was traded to a team that found a role and utilized him to perfection

And this why great coaching and great role players matter. Yea you can have all time great players but if you don't have a coach able to put the team together with a great game plan or don't have great role players who know their role and practice on the type of looks they will actually get in the system, you won't have Denver's success. Jokic and Murray are great obviously but AG learned what spots he should be on the court to fit around their offense and has worked on his game in the those spots and it shows. Even something simple as knowing he can get easy touches and draw a foul or get an easy bucket in transition from sprinting down court and sealing his defender in the paint. Or learning when and how to cut during Jokic's post ups. Its been such an underrated subject when talking about the success of the Nuggets but AG is a big part of that. On top of him taking on the tough defense assignments and even having to play the 5 at his size sometimes for them. He should definitely be someone who has a Most Improved award.

@@torreywallace1494 outside the paint yes but on the drive they triple team him, for some reason the wall absolutely never works on him, every team is told to focus on defensive boards and keep lebron off the offensive boards because he is elite at putting up second chance points, the game plan works on him because he is ass juice when it comes to shooting.. its like when he is off he is ALLLLLLLL the way off.. with shooting, and if they box out and keep him off offensive boards then he looks regular, even if he scores 30.. it will be a slow 30 built up by forcing drives over working.. gassing him and reducing his defensive efforts even more than they already are.. he defends in spurts but when hes gassed thats when he starts flopping and letting guys blow by him.. denver, spurs, etc etc play him very well sometimes... will it happen this year, i truly dont think so.. i think he specifically planned for denver this year

@@thetunkmasteryou can’t compare averages versus the possessions they actually guarded each other. You gotta pull up the numbers of how efficient Lebron was while being guarded by Gordon. @@thetunkmaster what you need to do is pick up the clips and see how Gordon guarded him even when Lebron didn’t shoot, if he played great defense denying him the ball, or forcing him to pass the ball, and then the total shots. If Lebron took 30 shots while being guarded by Gordon and made 8, then Gordon played great defense, made him shoot 26%. But that’s how you can determine if Gordon played good defense on him or not. Not by saying “oh well Lebron averaged 27 ppg so he played great”, because of the great defense that Kawhi and Iguodola played on Lebron they won the FMVP
