He lost because they decided to continue the dunk contest instead of giving him the win, just because they couldn't give Gordon's dunks more than 50, and they couldn't give Lavine less than 50. He had for sure the most exciting dunks that dunk contest. Just the last unplanned dunk was less good than Lavine's dunk who had also great contest.
