I love the fact that they counted both the dunks of Blake Griffin on Pau Gasol from the same game. It was like Blake had a vendetta against him or something because twice in one game is wild
I know that Alonzo was in the receiving end of several of these. But give the dude credit, he never ran away from a dunk. He always went up attempting to block it.
@@GORILLA_PIMP True. He’s also remembered as being one of the Heat’s greatest players, a two time defensive player of the year and one of the all time great defenders. Oh, and also being a champion and instilling a culture into Miami that has since been maintained.
That Kemp dunk and the Pippen over Ewing dunk were 2 of my favorite NBA dunks of all time. But the Vince Carter "Dunk of Death" in the 2000 Olympics is the sickest dunk in the history of mankind.
6:25 What they did to Terry was horrible. They stole the guy’s lunch money, bullied him, embarrassed him in front of the school n then got the guy suspended. Terry just felt so alone, get the guy to the counselor office.
scottie pippen's dunk is very sensational and the subsequent events are hilarious, pippen dunks in Ewing's face, Ewing falls, pippen steps over him, ewing tries to push pippen and pick a fight, pippen turns away and immediately starts to talk trash to Spike lee in the stands. Beautiful
‘89 Tom Chambers over Mark Jackson ‘93 John Starks 🆚 🐂 in playoffs ‘00 Vince Carter in Olympics KG (not sure what year this was): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2hRcFCxgsMU.htmlfeature=shared
Shaq’s on Chris Dudley is truly the most disrespectful. He dunked on him, thrusted him, and then shoved him to the ground. Pippen’s is also an acceptable answer
@@mauricewilliams4001 ,🤣,I know, the only other dunk I thought was just as disrespectful was Shawn Kemps"aka the reign man"dunk on Chris Gatling,I think he dunked on Gatling twice in that playoff game, I believe, but Chris Gatling in my opinion saw that coming,he had too give shawn his props,on the other hand, Chris Dudley had no idea that was going to happen, Shaq literally King Kong sh*tted on Dudley,it ain't no way anybody can tell me that even the refs at the end of the game couldn't stop crying/laughing there azz off, they had to give shaq that 15 yards roughing the passer call/personal foul, shaq probably had to pay a fine/funeral for Dudley,I know that's a football penalty😭🤣
There are dunks that are disrespectful by nature and there are dunks that really had ill will directed towards the person. That scottie on Ewing dunk is nothing but hatred 🤣
Bro after seeing it one more time I think it's my favorite in-game dunk .. the way he pointed the guy in the public too hilarious.. that was real men on the court back then
This brings up some memories. Firstly, damn Shaq is so scary up in the air. Secondly Macgrady was clearing the rim so easy. And lastly Baron Davis should have won the MVP. He was the one guy Allen Iverson said he couldn't beat in a game 1v1.
Kemp pointed at him like that because ole dude told Kemp the last time they played against each other that he'd never dunk on him. Well, he was wrong, but at least he had a little bit of confidence, right? 🤷🏽♂️
I still recall that Baron Davis dunk on Andre Kirilenko like it was yesterday. The build up to that moment was intense considering The Warriors should have never been there in the first place. The Mavs sat Dirk Nowitzki in the last series of the regular season to let the warriors bump up to 8th seed because they were deemed as the weaker team, and the Mavs were number 1. 8th seed Warriors knocked the Mavs out. Then this dunk came in the second round and really made the fans feel like it was in the bag. It was the absolute pinnacle of the pre Steph era. I think the season before they went less than 20 wins but they still sold out. Just a fun group to watch win or lose.
@@olubode ya know I've heard that too bro, but I don't think it's exactly true. I did some digging on that and apparently Weiss had signed with a Euro-league for much more $$ than NY was offering him. Which makes sense, because what team is going to not sign someone because they got dunked on? That would be dumb from a management perspective lol. Regardless, it made Weis famous for all the wrong reasons haha. And yes, I agree that it was a better decision than going to the poorly-managed Knicks.
Alonzo Mourning challenged EVERY shot at the rim and sometimes thats just how it goes. Just never forget though that 'Zo won way more of those challenges than he lost.
Yep. Every great defender will get dunked on. Every great pitcher gives up home runs. How they respond to those moments is what separates them from the rest.
Head band New Jersey Vince banging on him with that cock back tomohawk was one of the most violent things I’ve ever seen….let alone dunks…always rated that dunk higher than the Olympics Dunk
The very first dunk in this video. Shawn Kemp's savage dunk... That will always be one of my ALL TIME favourites.. also his little celebration/taunt pointing at the guy on the ground is just golden IMO.
@@ersellote yeah, same with the Edwards' one or with all the travels each and every night. How're you supposed to defend a guy that jumping towards you with his elbow against your face?
@@mastermerion Not even close. Kobe was literally about to two-hand slam on the right side of the basket and changed his mind in mid-air and reversed it with the finish on the left side. Way more complicated than Julius's lay up.
@@Vscounter it's not just that. It's also how they came up. In those days, AAU wasn't as big so they players weren't so chummy by the time they got to The League. It's not so easy to develop rivalry if you're BFFs and what not.
7:22 the nets bench reactions to the larry nance dunk are HILARIOUS 😂😂. Caris levert knew something nasty was about to happen he just sat back straight and clutched at his knee, trevor booker jolted with excitement, randy foye had to be held down by Dinwiddie to stop from jumping up and celebrating. Scola also went from hunching forward to sitting all the way back in amazement lool. I love how some plays completely make you unaware of what side you're on, if its a great play its a great play🤷🏾♂️😂😂
Not a Bulls fan but it's hard to beat Scottie dunking on Ewing, giving the head slap to Ewing, then trash talking Spike. Might be the best dunk sequence ever.
I knew the 97 dunk of MJ on Mutumbo was going to win that year. I remember watching it during the 96-97 playoffs. Mutumbo was talking about how Jordan never dunked on him and then it happened and Jordan did Mutumbo's signature finger wave back at him. He got whistled for a technical foul after waving his finger at him, but MJ knew he would and it was worth it. It was epic Jordan.
Duncan on Birdman 2012 should be here. He smacked him in the face with the ball and then made him fall down after the dunk. Also Duncan on Ben Wallace (not sure of the year) - same style of one handed dunk, and Wallace fell down in a heap. And this was prime DPOTY Wallace.
If you weren't around for Mourning you don't understand... he was terrifying. Total beast mode. But the Carter on Mourning dunk was special. He had retired earlier due to kidney issues. Nets were the first team to sign him after. It...didn't work out. He was kind of a dick. He ended up going back to Miami after and balling pretty hard. Nets fans were upset with him. Then this happened lol. But they ended up winning a championship and we didn't so...
I was a student at Duke when JJ Redick played. We all knew he could drunk but he never did and mostly just drained 3s. When he was wide open (I believe his senior year), he went for his first drunk in play and got it (although way less cool than all of these, obviously). In subsequent interviews he said he was glad he did it once, but doesn’t like to dunk and wouldn’t do it again. I thought that was cool af, until a few weeks later he had another opportunity and did it again lol.
@@ahmadmahmood6986 The Dikembe Mutombo posterizer? I think technical fouls etc went overboard after Malice in the Palace. When Duncan got ejected for laughing with two techs? All down hill from there. But like the Shawn Kemp posterizer and the taunt? He would have the tech when he is coming down in to the crouch.
Watching a lot of these dunks reminds me. When Russ was absolutely feeling it that man slammed that ball so hard you felt like he was gonna rip the rim off
My 2 favorites were right at the beginning. The lister blister delivered by Shawn Kemp and Pippen blowing up Ewing, then telling spike to "sit yo ass down" it's like Pippen got a 2 for 1 with that.
Definitely missing DeAndre Jordan's dunk over Brandon Knight. The other glaring omission is Vince Carter's dunk in the Olympics when he teabagged the 7 footer from France.
Hah I just commented the same thing and then scrolled down and saw this comment... I completely agree...Steve Francis wins in this video and vice Carter jumped over a guy in the Olympics...BEST DRUNK EVER
Nice video, but tell me how you didn’t include Tom Chambers Dunk on Mark Jackson? Or “The DUNK” (that’s the name of the dunk) by John Starks against Jordan and Scottie Pipen? 🤯
Two impressions here: 1. Scottie Pippen's jump. The higher he gets, the faster he seems to explode upward. Give his dunks a near weightless, rising quality. 2. The teamwork in the 2013 dunk is a thing of absolute beauty.
Pippen was two way beast and new generations can see how good he was.He is player for every generation. He will be a triple double machine in this time.Sorry my English is bad.
respect to the defenders for doing their job without fear of being made to look foolish. too much talk about "getting posterized" making defenders too wary to play defense. I love seeing the defenders that will go up to block/defend every time, even after already getting posterized.
Wow after all these years I didn't think jordan was mimicking him, just thought jordan had a little brain fart.lol.. but yea, Zo used to scream like that after dunks.
@@LANDCRUISERLIFE is that true? I thought so too before. It then gives this another dimension... Jordan really didn't just want to win, but go under the skin of his opponents and destroy them psychologically. Which is kind of cruel but very fascinating and impressive as well in terms of his determination.
Really glad you included that Terrence Ross dunk. So underrated, mostly I think because it happens so quickly there's no time to appreciate it. But it's absolutely filthy.
