Well, it's the 162 game record. It's only a tie with Babe Ruth for the 154 game record. Nothing is more absurd than thinking that length of season doesn't count. Can you imagine?
The dual shots of Judge and his mom, breaking down how they're both waiting for confirmation then making eye contact, that's what sets Jomboy apart, legendary stuff.
It's baseball history. I'm no Yankees fan, but you gotta love it and respect it. I love what Judge said after the game about the guy who caught the ball: "It's a souvenir for a fan... they made a great catch out there and they have every right to it." What a class act.
@@MoonlightGrahamCracker Yeah, Judge knows that ball is worth life-changing money. You can sell it, give all the cash to a financial advisor, and live off the dividends for the rest of your life. (It’s already valued at several million dollars.) It’d be a completely different story if it was a player’s first career HR. I’d say “sure, how about some tickets and an autographed bat in return”?
@@MoonlightGrahamCracker Who's said that? Which players have guilted fans into giving up their home run ball? Damn. Sorry... I'm assuming you know. If you do, I'd be really interested to know.
That Judge and Mom breakdown with the triple split of him solo, her solo, and the field shot showing where she was sitting was pure poetry. Jomboy...you've outdone yourself with this one 👏
Eat shyt ESPN. Yall want storylines? Yall talk about trying to bring baseball back? And its on Jomboy to bring us this mother-son multi-angle breakdown?
@@HolySoopCoolers Haha your funny only 6 people in history have done what he has done not to mention the other guys were using loads of steroids keep crying bro!
You realize they’re just a normal Mom and son facing enormous pressure in the eyes of the world, when you see the simultaneous sigh of relief for each other.
I was there! Awesome moment and cool part of baseball history. The stadium was buzzing for 4 more innings 🌩🔌🎉Happy for Judge, he seems like such a great guy.
What a season. Across the entire league. I don't think we'll see another one like this for a long time. It feels like every team in the playoffs belongs there with all of their magical moments. From the Guardians being the youngest team in baseball, to Judge breaking the AL home run record in his contract year, to the Mariners breaking their 21 year playoff drought, to Pujols hitting 700 and so much more. I could go on about this season and the magic its felt like it has had. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs, lets have an October to remember!
@@ericschminke8233 as someone who's been a fan of the team my entire life, has friends and family who are also fans for their entire lives, not a single one of us gave a shit lol you're probably just soft
@owningall I'm soft? Let's see how "soft" I am. I was a fan of a baseball team that had a whopping 5 winning seasons over the last 34 years they played at Municipal Stadium. (1965, 1968, 1976, 1981 (By all of 1 game.), and 1986). I was a fan of a team that, during that 34-year period, finished last 8 times and finished higher than 4th just once. (3rd in 1968) The Indians didn't see post-season play for 40 years, so cheer up Mariners fans. It could've been much worse. If you, your family, and friends like "Guardians" then that's your right, but I don't, and neither do countless others. I hate political "correctness" and always will. If anyone's "soft", it's the hypersensitive p. c. fanatics who have tried to siphon the fun and enjoyment out of life for countless people who meant no harm and have left comparable numbers on edge for fear that even a compliment will be considered "insensitive". The 2022 baseball season produced several wonderful memories. Perhaps chief among them was Aaron Judge smacking an AL record-setting 62 homeruns. I'm very happy for Judge, and I'm no Yankees fan. This post is much longer than planned, so I must sign off.
That mom is a straight up G. Sat there cool as ice waiting for it to go out first..shes been before. She consucted herself as professional as the actual professionals. Props to mom for being an absolute G on how she handle this
Aaron deserves the MVP. With pitchers using technology to recreate 99 MPH two seamers and sinkers, and In a year where offense is down league wide (to the point that MLB is changing the rules to input more offense), Aaron puts a 60+ HR season and is that much ahead of the league in almost every offensive category, including the new-ish nerdy ones. He has put the team on his back for the last two months.
Agree but there are people out there who literally think Ohtani should get it every year because of the two way game. Vladdy got hosed last year and it wouldn't shock me to see judge lose it, even if he wins the triple crown. H should be going for his scond MVP but there is anti Yankees bias as well. Ohtani stole ROY in 2018 even though he missed hallf of the season, beting out Andujar and Gleybor. Mattingly was hosed in 1986 because they gave it to Clemons, a pitcher. yt in 1978 wouldn't give it to Guidrey because he's a pitcher and they had the Cy Young. Rice won it in 1978. Yankees aren't loved by the national media.
@@veritasinvicta8128 Tbf to Ohtani he is a statistical anomaly when it comes to the sport being that only 1 player has played how he does so scaling his value to a team is much harder than just scaling how valuable a pitcher or position player is. His value is usually equated as two different players rather than just one so until it is normalized and we have an idea of how valuable he really is(by putting him on a good team or by developing stats for it) he will prob have an mvp case every year.
The guy who jumped got ejected and as of that night no trespass was issued for future games. Also as of that night Corey, the guy who caught the ball, still has it and the highest offer of the night was $2 million from an authenticated house or something. The guy who jump was not injured.
You can easily tell how kind-hearted Judge's parents are, especially his mother. They raised him well and what it means to be humble despite the world looking at you. Might be one of the greatest adoption in sports history.
Very disappointed in Red Soxs fans. Soxs fans chanting Yankees suck during one of the past series’s in Boston. You have a nice comment. Yankee fan here. I won’t say anything negative. That was a great moment for everyone.
You're truly remarkable. I've seen the home run and celebration at least 10 times now, and I didn't even notice German chasing down Nestor hahah Great job as always
This baseball season has been my first ever time watching the majority of it and something incredible like Aaron Judge becoming the home run king happens. What a time to start 😮⚾️
What a humble dude, the decorum is serious tho.. the only player who even on his 62nd dinger of the season w/o a single bat flip all year. "Judge" is an understatement more like "King" or "Sire"
It’s crazy that those are his adopted parents. He is such a class act. That means that they raised him right despite him starting life like that. They gave him all the love and support needed and showed that being a parent is more than just blood. Just a great story all around imo. Very heartwarming. Most stories you hear are the horror stories. So it’s nice to see the other side of it. The success stories
Pretty sure I saw that he was forcefully taken out of the stadium by security... RIP. He'll probably get a long time ban from the stadium or maybe even an arrest.
That Was a Nice Breakdown ... The way you did it all ... From the homer the The Guy catching it all in slow mo ... really appreciate that Bro ... worth more than a Sub and Like Thanks Again ... Pure Class that Aaron Judge #99
I was at work last night so i missed it. This is the 1st place i came to look to see if Judge got it. Not a Yankees fan but my roomate is so i come to appreciate them. Great mother & son breakdown.
THIS is the new record. There was Ruth. Then there was Maris. Now there is Judge. The others, who shall remain nameless, brought only shame to baseball.
@@JasonGabler No I mean people thought Maris breaking Ruth's record wasnt legit because he played more games. Had nothing to do with what you're saying.
This video was the first baseball hit I've seen all season; Just don't care anymore, they're not my people and don't share my values. But you, Jomboy make it fun and make me miss it. (NEW DECLARATION) I will now get my baseball fix through JOMBOY MEDIA
A lot of the comments have already said this, but I''ll add on. Baseball cards gained such popularity in the 50's and 60's because baseball was consumed by the masses primarily through radio. Fans, particularly kids, had no idea what these player's faces looked like, their batting stances, their pimp jobs, the staredowns, etc. Fast forward to today, when you have baseball junkies like Jomboy scouring every pixel of video available to him for something funny, interesting, or relevant, no matter how small. Not just of players, but of fans, families of players, anything that's in the frame. Jomboy is becoming a part of the history of how I regard and consume baseball, and I'm here for it.
Gotta give huge shout-out to jomboy, he single handedly got me back into baseball the past few years and shout-out to judge and his great season had me watching almost every game again like I used to.
It's unfortunate he didn't have someone competing with him. I think that's what made the McGwire and Sosa run so much fun. Everyday it was someone else taking the lead
Yep,but it puts things in context just how good he was this year. Not just a massive HR season. Not just one of the best hitting seasons of all time, one of the best *seasons* of all time, full stop. Led the majors in 9 offensive categories-including an OPS+ of 211-while playing more than half of his time in center field (and a good one at that), a notoriously taxing position to play everyday.
Fun fact for Jomboy: The gentlemen sitting to Mrs Judge's right was Kendall Coleman, who entered the NYY system with A Judge, T Wade, C Gittens, et al ... and after a trade to the NYM is now in the front office of the TXR Clubhouse.
All well and good ... that said - in 1961 the MLB fields were larger and not 'manicured' quite as well. The baseballs were also not as lively. All of these facts play into it having been a tougher feat for Roger back then than Aaron today. Either way, CONGRATULATIONS to Aaron !!
Somewhere out there in the world on this night there was a old man probably 6'6 in height sitting at a bar or something watching his biological son crank his 62nd homerun
Big deal! His Yankees will once again choke in the postseason like they always do. One man cant lead to team to postseason wins as it has to be a team effort to do so. And the Yankees will once again have a short postseason run again this season. 2009 is the last time the Yankees won a World Series. So that means many years of choking and choking hard when so called experts claimed they always a lock to win the World Series. Guess what nothing is guaranteed and no expert can predict what will happen. Its just their opinion just like its my opinion on how I feel about the Yankees choking and bowing out of the postseason early like always. I dont know if this will happen I just want it to. But there is a good chance the Yankees wont be in the World Series this year. My Astros have a better shot at doing so than they do. GO ASTROS GO!!!!!
Judge deserves it. A class act. I say this as a Boston fan, too. It was cool watching the hunt for this for the last while. Love seeing these kinds of records broken in the modern game.
I’m a Rangers fan that was at this game, had the tickets all season. Was hoping Judge would hit it before the game bc I didn’t want to deal with the madhouse. Sooo glad that didnt happen. Was awesome to see it in person. Got actual chills
Gotta give some credit to the Rangers for actually pitching to Judge after Baltimore made it a point to REFUSE to pitch to him. They intentionally walked him 5 times over 3 games leading up to this game.
My favorite part of this season is how the Yankees gave Judge a respectable contract offer, but he turned it down, bet on himself, and delivered in a way no other pending free agent has. Mad respect.
Thanks for the breakdown. I wondered if he had acknowledged his mom during his base trot, couldn't tell during the game last night. The man is a true champion.
You guys are great at lip reading - After Judge gets back to the dugout, during the broadcast you can see Nestor asking Boone if he can go in and play right field 😂😂😂
