I remember Scott Weiland and Aaron Lewis doing this song on Family Values. It was EPIC. I feel lucky to have seen him perform before he passed. Rest In Peace Scott.
Rest easy Weiland , and thank you for giving everything to music! You helped a lot of people through a lot of shit!! Even throughout VR days and after!!
David Lee Roth was mine but my husband is a lil younger and he swears Scott Weiland was the greatest front man of all time. I think for his generation he is right
It's not just the unplugged version. There is also a studio release variant with the second verse sung like that, it's the one they always play on waaf here in Boston. Unfortunately, I can't find that version on iTunes, or anywhere for that matter. Definitely the better version of the song.
Aaron doesnt need any certain "acknowledgement" from ANYBODY, his voice is legendary already, and as far as staind, they were the top of the food chain in their era, nothing to apologise for there, eventually all bands phase out over time, its just the way it is!! And no, he isnt thought of the same way fred durst is!!
Forward yesterday makes me wanna stay,. What they say is real, makes me wanna feel. Aaron lewis was blessed with a voice that sounds beautiful doing any genera.
I was at this show on a first date with my now wife. Almost this spot in the bar too. I was wearing a chive shirt and a dude bought me a beer. Best night ever🥃
There is a version that he did with Scott where If I remember correctly the whole thing was a two part harmony. I don't know if a video even exists, but It rocked hard
Jarrett Weeks Wish I could find a better version I believe this is from the family values tour 2001, seen the tour back in 2001 in MN and it by far is one of my favorite memories. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a5v2akRUhhM.html
Oh, man this is great. I remember being in 10th grade when "Core" came out, and that and AIC, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone/Pearl Jam, etc. were huge bands, then. Glad he did this for Scott, was such a talent just like all the others that fell to that horrible addiction. Fucking drugs...
Definitely did the tune some justice! Must agree with @regbale that a killer additional vocal for the other parts of the tune would have made this a slam dunk. The steel guitar player just playing those extra parts would have been awesome too.
All my life ive loved nothing more than music. And then our heroes take their life. I KNOW depression. When Kurt & Shannon & Layne & Scottie left us for hopefully better days, I thought my world would collapse. Honest to God, I don't even know how I'm still here. I was born in 1958. I know, I'm old as fuck. But I went to my 1st concert when i was 12. There's never been anything even slightly close to your 1st concert. Well, except for seeing Zepplin (what a party that was!!! Got in line like 2 day's previous. (I know he's gone, but I love Bill Graham ) I was trying to pin down my favorite music. But that is impossible. At least for me. HEY Y'ALL IN THE BAY, LET'S HAVE MORE DAY'S ON THE GREEN!!!!! All I can say is pass that shit to me.
Aaron Lewis has got to be one of the most important rock singers and song writers. I really hate how he's doing country music now 🤢. Lol but seriously, his rock side is just incredible.....
He does a lot of his rock songs @ his 'country shows'. Lots of his country is acoustic too.. I saw him live @ the Sands Bethlethem and he played Outside, It's been a while, tangled up in you, and so far away
His country is awesome too. I absolutely hated country never listened to any country songs until aaron was in town and my brother in law wanted to go to his concert so I went and now i have an entire playlist of his country songs. This is when he does a lot of these covers and tributes. I've since been to 2 more of his country concerts..he's a hell of a performer
Since he switched gears and moved into country he is actually more country then the "country" artist!...This dude is legit! I suggest checking out his country album.
I'm not the biggest fan of Aaron's songs that he wrote himself, they're okay I guess, BUT I love his covers ! A lot of the songs he covers are actually better than the original !
"things don't mean a thinnnng!" 2:49 lol aaron lewis is one of my favorite singers but the amount of fucks he does not give when it comes to how correct the lyric are, is truly out of this world. lol
crunk bunk hahahaha I've always joked that someone should get Aaron Lewis a hearing aid. His covers are amazing, but I'll be damned if every single one of them don't have an incorrect lyric or 3 in them. 😂
Keyc94 Licensing maybe? To cover them in front of a live audience is different than making a record with the purpose of profit. All the record companies that own the rights to those songs would likely want a cut. It would be a mess. Besides, there’s something special about his acoustic shows you would lose on a record. The last acoustic show of his I went to, at the very end of the show, for the final song, he plays “Outro” from 14 Shades of Grey off mic and at the edge of the stage. It was too cool. I bought the VIP tickets for that show so my brother and I got to hang out with Aaron for fifteen minutes before the show; when he took his final bow after playing Outro off mic, he gave my brother and I a little wink. He’s the man.
Yes, it is. Haven't you ever heard the song? I assume you mistook STP's "Creep" for Radiohead's "Creep." Both songs are great, but this is STP's song "Creep." There's also TLC's song, but I don't like them, so I choose not to comment on that song.
