Most teams keep 6 receivers. Could you imagine someone like OBJ being WR6. They could rotate these guys in like wildfire! Plus Cobb is good for 5-6 1st downs a game in the slot! Aaron has never had weapons like that before!

They could sign Cobb, but not Odell. It's also taking up roster spots. There's 22 other positions on just the offense and defense, let alone special teams. They can't just throw roster spots away to sign Rodgers friends so he has someone to talk to in the locker room.

Mercedes Lewis never puts up big numbers as a tight end. It's the other things that he does. That makes him special. I live in Jacksonville and got to watch him play here. And the guy just moves bodies. For running backs and wide receivers. Not to mention what he brings to the locker room. Guy is literally one of the best leaders a team could have

@Grant Thiessen no it's really not. They would have been better off making an offer on Lamar. Why sell out for a guy that will play 2 seasons for you at most. Aaron will get paid then leave them with nothing.

@sean haberman honestly no. Your missing the biggest problem with Lamar that's probably the same reason he's struggling so much to get a contract deal done outside of Baltimore. Lamar may be a mvp qb but he's only an mvp in an offensive system tailored to his very specific play style which the jets don't have a coach good enough to pull off. Rodgers is a typical big arm pocket qb that's won under any system and is an archetype that will continue to win under any systems into perpetuity. So even if Lamar is gonna be better for longer than Aaron, I don't think he would be for the Jets

@Grant Thiessen Lamar has more upside than Aaron. I understand a team would need to adjust drastically to fit Lamar but he at least has a future. And if they don't want to go through that either trade up in the draft or make do for a season, tank, and draft a QB next year. All are better long term options than Aaron. This move they're making is going to cripple them financially for 4+ years for a guy that will only play 2.

@Grant Thiessen also, Rodgers really just isn't that good. His last 2 MVP seasons were products of a weak schedule and his name not actual performance. As soon as he played good teams in the playoffs he choked. He's washed up and nobody seems to see it. Why on earth would you pay 50 mil a year for someone that won't statistically out perform geno Smith this year? He's been riding his one superbowl for a long time. Dude can't win when it counts.

They've accomplished more as a team in 4 seasons than the Jets franchise has in the last 20 years. You can have whatever you want when you play like that. Stats don't lie.

Should mean that they are easy to get. And won't be much of a salary cap hit or Money makers? Cobb has tremendous chemistry with Rodgers and is a great 3rd down target.

To the Packers you mean. The franchise chokes consistently. Regardless of the QB. From dropping onside kicks that would take them to the SB to throwing interceptions across their body in OT to the Giants. It’s a packers thing.
