AAWITAN KITA 🇵🇭 (Leopoldo Silos) by RAFFY LATA 

I am a music student at the University of Baguio with a major in classical guitar. Every semester, our maestro requires us to play three pieces-one etude, one classical piece, and one kundiman piece (I know it's not all kundiman, but nowadays, that's the catch-all term hehe). The Philippine Guitar is the book we use for selecting a Kundiman piece. Unfortunately, there seems to be only one copy of the book, and we pass it around, taking turns to learn our selected piece from it. Many of us resorted to getting a photocopy of the assigned piece for the semester. My fellow guitar majors love learning our assigned kundiman pieces, and we all wonder where we can get our hands on a copy of that book. We also share your video performances among each other to help with learning the pieces. I hope they continue the production of that book, because I see now, with more and more students enrolling in our university's music program, that there are still people like us who would love to learn about these beautiful compositions (and of course, MJV's arrangements of them for guitar).
