As a lovely human who's been only been listening to Ab-Soul for 3 days and only had my toe in the hip-hop water for a few days..... "It be like that" had me on repeat for a few days.... Give it listen... Again.. as a mental health professional it resonated with me in many ways. Loved it 😘

I took that mockingbird line “turn a 1 into a 2 that’s a mockingbird” as a reference to hunger games and how the last movie was separated into two parts

Ab-Soul has a song called "Rush" off LTM2 and the video where lot of it was shot as him in the back seat of a car. Rolling through his city in a Rush was a call to that record and they were driving through Del Amo. University is a street in Carson. Also, the beginning of the song is a reference to a Kendrick Lamer record with Punch and Ab-Soul called "West Coast Wu-Tang" from the C4 mxitape back in the day.

This was really good. First rule of good writing, write what you know. Ab Soul shared his truth with excellent lyrics. Absolutely glad he made it through his dark time and came out the other side. Another song for the playlist!

I love the beat on this- jazzy, smooth and reflective of what he was saying. I absolutely agree with George! I want to hear real life, close to the heart lyrics. I want to experience what his life is about and how he feels. Ab Soul did a great job with this - so did Lost in Vegas!

Just to clarify, he didn't think about committing suicide. He actually tried. Jumped off a bridge, shattered his leg and lost most of his teeth. He said it in the song and also in a recent interview. Dude has been in some dark recent years and I hope that he stays healthy.

Ab soul is way too underrated. He’s easily one of my top 5 rappers. His lyrics are so clever and he raps from a real place and isn’t afraid to show what he’s feeling. Super dope dude hope he gets through whatever he’s going through

Yeah that university line(and so many others lol) was tuff ! Ab is from Carson and there’s a college in Carson cal state Dominguez so university drive runs through the campus, that’s why he said I’m on university so much I should at least have an AA 💯
