I end up picking up a 2-stoke cs200 motorcycle for $50 from craigslist. This bike was sitting for over 16 years. Can we get it to run and save this vintage motorcycle? #Yamaha, #2stoke, #Motorcycle,

Crank seal tip: Leaking crank seals can be a problem on these old 2-strokes, and rebuilding a twin-cylinder crank to replace them isn't easy. If the bike is smoking excessively, it probably means that the inner seals have hardened and are no longer sealing. Drain out some of the transmission oil and replace it with transmission stopleak, that may soften the seals enough to fix the problem. Or, if you have the cases split, pour some stopleak on and around the seals and let it soak for a day or two. You're welcome.

'71 CS200 was the first real motorcycle I ever had, looked just like this one. I got it when I turned 14 from my uncle who had it in a shed for about 6 years. My dad and I got it running, I made a few dirt bike modifications because I lived on a dirt road with miles and miles of farm land to ride on. All my other friends had bikes like DR 200, XT 200, XL 200's etc, mine was the only "street" bike. But was by far the fastest and most powerful of them all. I loved that bike and even after 2 years of the abuse I threw at it, it held together very well. I ended up passing it on to a younger cousin after I got a car, he rode it for years too.

1. Wash 2. Remove carbs (ultra sonic cleaning) 3. Add MM oil to cylinders 4. Use a compression guage to see the compression #'s. 5. Check/lightly sand points and/or gap points 6. When you have confirmed spark, add fuel/oil mix to cylinders to try briefly start. 7. Begin total renovation/parts availability

I had a 1973 200.Electric as they were known in the UK because they had an electric starter in addition to the kickstart, they became the RD200 when Yamaha fitted the disc front brake, the same as the RD250 was known as the YDS7 in the UK until the addition of a disc front brake plus the RD350 was called the YR5. I did almost 18000 miles on it, without any major problems, except it was prone to oiling up the plug on the left cylinder when ridden hard. I think it could have been a faulty coil, looking back.

I have the round headlight assembly and the lamp is with 12 LED right forward beam side plus 12 LED left forward beam with halogen in the center of the bucket for motorcycle's front bracket of the fork. The assembly is brand new that I bought in 3 months ago and it works bright in the detail box. I can have sale price for it. The bracket is right and left side for beryl chromed plated at the front of the handlebar Yamaha. My new black bracket with two clamps have 3 holes on each side. The 2 grips around the forks near the tree of the handlebar. These bracket set inside another detail box also 3 month old - The grip is the clamp - 6 holes total bracket includes 2 of the 6 holes are for mounting with stainless steel bolt x 2. It can hold the halogen socket made out of plastic color black bucket with ring (plastic color black trim) around the light 6 1/2 inch includes 9 wires. You have tachometer with the cable and spinning inside the flexible conduit. The rotation connected at the back of Tachometer. The cable is connected to the hub of the front wheel. When the wheel rolls that makes the tachometer roll with its finger instead of speedometer. I like it - I don't need speedometer because the motorcycle is very loud 8,000 RPM, 5th gear equals 50 MPH. When you see a cop then I must go down to 1,500 rpm, 5th gear on 250cc motorbike.

Nope, no starter motor for 400cc Yamaha Twin 2 Stroker. 200cc didn't have the option of add on starter motor. The starter is a relay for switch "ON" the twin capacitors and off switch timer with the distributor in 200cc case includes stator in the housing. The starter switch on your handle was you pull the another gasoline motor trimmer (line or string). The connection cranking system must be able to coupling up the trimmer/chainsaw motor on the side of lower engine Yamaha. The small motor got to crank up the bigger 200cc motor side by side. Already, you added the ATF little oil into the cylinder atop the pistons' rings that is the only way for the fire it up and running good. The used running pistons' rings is better than brand new rings and brand new pistons because wear out will increase the compression. After the engine 200cc runs loud at900 RPM that disengage the small motor so it goes back to the chainsaw bar. Use the clutch on the smaller motor because without the clutch - it won't start. The second bigger clutch for 6 speed tranny of Yamaha 200cc is good and already avail or test it, Said by the Inspector from the DMV in whether the clutch of the tranny with upfront 200cc is badly worn out... Thank you.

I had a Yamaha 200 twin cylinder. But didn't really look like that. Mine was mostly purple and the gas take was kind of pointy in front. I work as a groundskeeper at an apartment complex in Atanta adn some guy moved out and left it there. I think he went to Emory. Anyway, it ran, even though it smoked out of one cylinder. They gave it to me, but it was stolen soon afterwards.

I love old bikes. I had and rode a Yamaha Twinjet 100, a 1967 motorcycle with a pressed steel frame. Loved it.

The Engine as shown in video is Yamaha, and it goes fast like 2 stroke 400cc CAFE Racer's favorite that it out beat a lot of other 4 stroke Racing motorcycle named Hawk 400cc Low profile electric start Cruising bike.

That bike would easily sell for $1,500 here in California. I have been looking for months and I haven’t found one two stroke bike within 150 miles from my house in Southern California. That’s a population of 6 million people as well. So, everyone and their brother is looking for old two strokes. I might need to head your way with a trailer to find one or two.

To bad it wasn't a YZR250. Way back when a buddy of mine had one. He got it with money from an accident. He then lost use of his arm due to nerve damage crashing his bike. He then 4 years later died, guess how, in another accident. The bike was a really cool little race rocket and sounded skookum AF but 2 strokes were all over the place back then(off road). He also had a Kawasaki Ninja 250r and a Ninja(GPZ) 400r as his EDD

Got pieces of an RD 400 out back, planning on building it one of these days. Just takes a ton of free time, and we are busy as hell 5 1/2 days a week but it will be done, too cool not to. Great pick up bud!!

Quick fix for the slip on the kick start is cut a piece of aluminum can from a soda can and wrap it around the teeth of the kicker gear then slide the kick start on and tighten it

I like watching bike restoration videos. But I can’t understand why nobody ever takes a little bit of time to maybe hose all the Crud off of the manky looking barn find first. It’d make life so much easier throughout the rest of the process. It also beats scratching the chrome with paper dragging a ton of grit over everything.

@@robquattro5419 yep, take the oil pump and throw it right in the trash where it belongs lol. Premix is just way more reliable.

Never trust those pumps. They weren't trustworthy when new. Sold a lot of parts to people that did trust them. No need to kick it next time before you pull the heads. You can do damage with just a couple of kicks. It most likely has copper head gaskets that you can reuse by annealing them with a torch until orange and quenching them. New ones are probably available from the aftermarket later.

Why don't you take the time to clean the bike before you start to work on it?
