Hey explorers! Another 3 random Adelaide explores of abandoned places around the suburbs.
First place is a Hostel, second place is an old house and the third is another old villa that was transformed in to a meat works.
Hope you enjoy the snoop around these places, cheers for watching :-)

That 2nd place had a really huge yard. Just imagine how many ticky-tacky boxes a developer could put in there. Great explores Paul, as always.

I got an unpleasant feeling from the hostel, like it wasn't a happy place. The house would be nice with a whole lot of cleaning, and new floors. The butcher's was interesting. Thanks, Paul

Thank you Paul for an interesting contrast of three explores, all from different eras and used for particular purposes. The second property was typical of a 1930s build with the rendered facade, internal air vents, generous size rooms, sash windows and pine flooring, instead of the hardwood within earlier period homes.

I'm thinking that the 1st place due to its age (1950's) may have been a small private hospital or RSL type home. The 2nd place looks early 40's. It would be great renovated and cleaned up, the sizeable backyard and sheds would be a bonus. The final site looks to have been the classic 1910-20's small store with attached residence that simply expanded and took over the adjoining properties over the years, back in the days when local shops - especially butchers made good money. Thanks for the explores and sharing the vids.👍

Thanks UI for another great explore. The heavy-duty locks on nearly every door of that first place gave me a bad feeling. I doubt that all was ever well under that roof. The outline of the Aboriginal flag appears in the graffiti in the cupboard. The second house had an early 1930s look about it with minimal updating. As for Schapel's, while the interior looks a bit sinister the street frontage has an interesting old-time appeal.

On the first home I thought 'traveler hostel' until I saw Katrina the Monday 'guardian' posted. A youth hostel, for sure. Very spartan accommodations at that! The second, CREEPY 21:14, maybe a boarding house or re-purposed for office space before it went abandoned? The third, a major meat supplier for the neighborhood and surrounding area? That place has prodigious square footage and A LOCKER ROOM. Meaning a crew of butchers and meat-cutters were employed. Good use of repurposed buildings, that doesn't happen any more. Thanks for the explore, Paul!

Hi, Paul!!! Great explores. What is an Aboriginal Hostel? It looked like a lock-down for troubled youth. So, the 2nd house would be amazing if someone totally renovated it, and kept the entire lot intact, with landscaping. of course, no video is complete without your comments about cobwebs, and now your upsetting the local birds, and now the poor innocent cats, lol. It os interesting to me to note that you all seem to have the same thing with the 30's era homes that we do here in the States, with that weird Aqua Green paint. It is on every single home of that era, somewhere. Do you know why? Like it was the cheapest paint they had, or something, or the only one the could get during the war? The 3rd place, I just hope they save the Victorian Grillwork, and doorknobs and things like that. I could smell the meat when you made that comment, my stomach dropped. I hope you're well, I understand you are back in lockdown? Stay safe- SDK

The Hostel had an RFID (not magnetic) door system. A mix of SALTO and something else (probably a cheaper but compatible alternative). Would have just allowed for easy management of door access for staff and those living there. Saves having doors keyed differently and keys cut / changed.

I always feel angry and sad at the same time when I see all the beautiful homes and properties you show us . Once loved family homes which would of cost a pretty penny to build in their day . All these homes whiteness many happy , sad events and where once all filled with love ( ok maybe the institution was not , however the homes where . Now the buildings with all their memories all either lay neglected with nature taking over or they are slated to meet the wreaking ball and bulldozers so modern day cookie cutter trash can replace them . Especially when homeless is at crisis levels .

@@urbexindigo5164 Yes so sad about homelessness and several of the homeless are children either with or without their families. Many wildfires destroying and displacing people as well . Here it is City , Provincial and Federal Government as the government structure and I really really feel all levels of government should not be allowing any dwelling to sit vacant or be knocked down . Here now in my province the provincial government has implemented a vacancy tax and the government local , provincial and federal do have the authority to seize properties. The local government here just seized the downtown property of a commercial rental agency after the historic building was destroyed partially by fire leaving the remaining structure on the site , which takes up approximately 1/2 a city block as a large gaping pit on the corner of the main street . City is now in the process of figuring out how best to utilize the property which has some challenges from the site once actually being a filled in part of a bay which once came from the Ocean downtown to the material used to fill in the lagoon being junk .
