The 9 Beaches Resort opened in April 2005 as an 18 acre eco resort in Somerset Bermuda. The resort was closed in 2010 for "renovations" and has since fallen into disrepair. It felt like I was walking through a ghost town in paradise. These abandoned cabanas are all that is left of a once heralded resort.
The canvas cabanas suffered from several problems ranging from security, no air-conditioning in a hot climate, and the amount of sound that could be heard from inside. It was sad seeing such a beautiful concept and location in such poor condition.

Had a memorable time staying there. Shame it's gone. Remember the shuttle driver "Dad" that was there that would come get you at your cabana and take you to the parking lot. He was a retire cop and took us one night to the F.O.P. Lodge for a fish fry. Was Phenomenal

I stayed here on my honeymoon in 2007, either in the cabana at 2:45 or the one beside it. Had a great time snorkeling and kayaking around. Sad to see it like this

It's so eerie to watch this. I stayed in the one at the end of the pier over the water (that you walked into) back in 2006. We had a wonderful time!! It was so beautiful and so relaxing. We especially enjoyed the on property cell phones that you could use to order drinks/food from anywhere around the resort. We survived a hurricane there where we all camped out in the clubhouse. Memories for a lifetime. I can't believe they've let it get to this point, especially since this is an environmental hazard wasteland :(

We stayed there before it was even called 9 Beaches - I believe they called it something Daniels Head - we had an amazing time and it was so beautiful. Since they were new and not everything was open, they drove us to dinner every night, paid for it, had fresh drinks made for us in our frig daily and a basket of breakfast goodies in the morning......so sad.

Property was formerly Canadian Forces Station Bermuda, I was posted there from 1981 to 1984 and again 1991 to station closing in 1993. Best postings I've ever had! Planning a cruise to the island in May 2024, hoping to check it out in person.
