Not a lift mechanic but I spent many yrs useing just about every make and model out there and I can say with confidence the 2 most reliable ones for me personally we're the Gradalls and JLGs. They were tough and very reliable. Dont get me wrong, they occasionally did break down but it was always an easy and quick fix. A few times even I was able to get it running lol. So i didnt have to call the mechanic. My favorite of the 2 was the Gradalls. Those things are super tough, and they had the smoothest hydralics out of all of them. If you've ever used lifts before you know how important good hydraulics are.

Thank you for helping the old lady. The contractor dumped his problem on her, which is bad enough at the best of times, but to do that to someone who is not able to deal with it is disgusting. BTW, since the contractor agreed to have you work on it, he has to pay you. More than likely though, he'll just give it to you for payment. Just make sure that you get a title or bill of sale to document it in case he changes his mind later.

Funny people hear "old lady" and think little old saint. She obviously had no problem taking her workman to court. For all you know, the guy did a great job for her, priced it just above cost of materials, and she still hasn't paid him because he left the machine there. I've seen that a lot. If he doesn't get paid what he's owed, how is he supposed to pay to have it towed? And even then she still might complain and refuse to pay. I deal with people like that more than you'd think, and a lot of them are little old ladies. They will give our there bank account numbers to scammers on the phone who say their son is arrested and needs bail money, but they will bitch and bitch about an honest job you do for them and refuse to pay unless you take them to court. And even then they don't pay -- you can put a lien but what good is that? For many "old people", it's free credit until they die or get removed to the nursing home. Don't be dense. If this woman was a "nice old granny", you'd see her out there bringing him something to drink, etc.

@@Mike-01234 You don't need a lawyer for abandoned property , it's literally as simple and waiting the amount of time the law says you have to then filling out the documents with the court to take ownership of it . Both you and the owner will be summoned to court , the judge will go over both your stories and talk to witnesses if you have them . If that thing has been there a full year as claimed there is no way the judge wouldn't say it's abandoned and the owner wouldn't have any justification for it since she clearly never agreed to allow it to sit there . Johnny Drinkard But technically the owner did not come after this for a year or better and if it’s abandon in somebody else’s yard and they don’t want it there it’s only fair that they have a right to get rid of it. He could have easily kept this thing if he wanted it but he doesn’t want it any plans on getting it back to the owner who abandoned it
@Ellenslife851
@Ellenslife851 5 лет назад
Johnny Drinkard One thing if somebody I know came to me and said hey can I store this on my property for a certain amount of time or store it here and I probably would let them store it there until they could find a space for it. But the guy clearly had no permission to store it there set it for a year and let it set an old woman’s yard and I don’t think that’s right I think that if he cared that much about his equipment he would’ve made the effort to come and get it fixed to drive it out of there and he did not
@Ellenslife851
@Ellenslife851 5 лет назад
Johnny Drinkard But technically the guy who owned it Abandoned it and it became property of the old woman and she chose to get rid of it on her own accord because if that guy who originally owned it wanted that piece of equipment bad enough you would’ve been there before a years Time in the head then after it trying to get it back to the shop so he could get it fixed to use obviously he didn’t care that much about it or he would not have a bandit there and she wanted it out of her yard which is only fair because it was after all her yard that it was sitting in and again if you listen closely to the video and the story behind it I had been sitting there for a year and she had even called the cops trying to get it out of there and to no avail
@Ellenslife851
@Ellenslife851 5 лет назад
Johnny Drinkard I don’t see where he would be stealing it if the old lady wanted him to take it just because he needs a salvage title one the guy who originally owned it abandoned it himself if he had thought anything about it he would have come to get. The guy who made this video was nice enough to bring it home after trying and attempting to get it running and storing it for this guy to come and get it and he did not have to do that and he was nice enough to help out the old woman in doing so And getting it off her lawn
@Ellenslife851
@Ellenslife851 5 лет назад
Johnny Drinkard Yes I understand that it may have not necessarily seemed like it was his place but the old woman wanted it gone and technically if the old woman wanted to give it to him for free that is her business because again like I said it was on her property for a year and after year I believe that is a fair enough time to say that that guy no longer owns it so the guy that originally a bandit if you no longer owns it and this guy is willing to get it back to and fix it for Him before hand tells me that the guy is just doing a honest deed for an old woman when the other guy who owned it would have never come and claim did anyways and furthermore if the guy that originally owned it never came and cleaned it and this guy never came along to do anything to please probably would’ve eventually came and took it for scrap metal and isn’t that pretty much Considered stealing as well I understand the old woman’s frustration because she never told the guy that he could keep that there.

So in the basket controls that dial that you were messing with his the speed control and there should be a rabbit and a turtle switch that may go up down may go left right that's also going to be an indicator for your speed and motion Mobility Yes you were in Turtle mode and yes that's about the maximum speed that you can get and yes you use the joystick controls to drive it That fuel is definitely an issue by the way I ran into that kind of issue before and the start-stop emergency switch on the base controls is religiously an issue and there is a hand over switch that also ends up being an issue The siren is also not plugged in as it should be going off whenever the vehicle is in motion Or when the boom arm goes up and down there are a number of triggers that are going to get really annoying That engine system looks extremely like the JLG series lifts you may want to take a look at some of theirs for a reference Just for safety sake as well you need to examine the idea of having an emergency descent system in place and do not and I repeat do not go up in that thing without your damn cell phone being stuck up there with no way down and no one knowledgeable enough to work the ground station controls turns into a massive debacle If for some reason you were stuck in the air the person on the ground would have to switch the controls from basket to the ground station and then hold a button with one hand and press the individual controls with the others in combination for rotation and ascent and descent and boom Arm Control Do yourself a favor take a good photograph with your cell phone of the base station control system and do not Elevate yourself or operate the basket without that same cell phone in your hand and at least 100 ft of paracord So that you could lower down the Paracord and Pull Up full size rope to be able to get yourself out of there in case it gets stuck Ask me how I know I was never allowed to post my fat man flying video when I myself got stuck and had to jump into some bushes from that exact same type of lift that failed in air So it is a Upright model A b62 RT with gas engine It looks like 3 arm boom with an extension hydraulic that has already had some switching in the basket controls rewired Sketchy but fun If you really want a hoot take it to full vertical extension and just feel the sway

If it has a throttle body with the injectors in the throttle body (90s style GM v6 v8) check for the temp sensor the ecu pulls reading from. I had a very similar problem with a truck i had years ago in which the sensor went bad and was trying to tell the ECU it was -30degC on a 90degC day. That caused the ECU to fire both injectors at %100 duty cycle, essentially killing the engine off with fuel after several seconds. You may notice a difference if you try to start it at the coldest time of the morning when the air is coolest, that is a symptom at least. Also it is definitely a GM engine, if you can take the info from the engine a GM dealer may be able to pull some information for you. That machine maynot have support, but often enough it is just a generic engine which may have support.

Dealt with that same issue put a carb on it solved it . Bush fix funny they swapped it with a boat motor.yes it’s a 3.0 mercruiser engine. Parts are cheap and plentiful get rid of the fuel injector if it has it go with intake manifold and carb. It won’t let you down oh wait it’s Chevy design it will only let you down when u need it not too. Great channel Good seeing another Ontario brother.

Actually, if you put the video on .25 speed and start at 14:21, you can just see that the grass was dead at the spot that was at the bottom of the tire just as you reach 14:22. It's only there for a split second before he split-screens the video, but the dead spot is there. The thing that may be confusing you is that because of the very deep treads, the grass was able to grow well right up to the point where a single lug of the tread made contact with the ground.

That big blue block at @7:03 is an isolator, in case you have dual batteries. When power is killed to the trigger wire, it isolates the batteries so you won't drain your main engine starting battery while running electronics with the engine off
