Hey house lovers and explorers! This video I explore an old late 1800`s cottage that I have wondered about for years. This place was always well hidden by its surrounding bushes and fences but always looked unkept and it was hard to tell if anyone actually was living in there. It was absolutely packed with years of accumulated things including your normal furniture and household items which have recently been half moved out in to the verandas and back yard. Cool old retro items still inside and the shed was packed with all sorts of things also. Some crazy and creative attempts inside the home were made to prevent further water damage. The old cottage has much charm even with the 70` make over but is falling apart. The old girl has not been maintained well over the years suggesting an elderly person was only just managing to get by in here during its last occupancy. Come and try figure out this old mysterious cottage with me on this explore. Hope you enjoy, cheers for watching :-)

What a cool house!! Pity it was updated so much, but never mind, it was still interesting. With all those wine casks, I'm not surprised the house was in such bad shape. They probably sat in that big chair drinking wine while watching the salt damp rise 😆 Fabulous explore Mr Indigo!!

A lot of 1800's cottages in Fremantle had Italian makeovers. Stuccoed and pillars added. I certainly wasn't keen on the look but they were recreating a little of their homeland. They were such hard workers and got ahead in the new country. There are still a lot of the original cottages too. All passed into history now.

What a strange journey. We were greeted by a gnome at the front door and a buddha outside in the back . What started with signs of former elegance soon became a bizarre Frankenhouse. The wardrobe in the first room made me think of 1930s Hollywood Regency Style. Then that parody of Hopper's painting "Nighthawks" was startling. Yeah, I would say it is time to put that poor house to rest. Hopefully the rescued mantle in the work shed will find a warm and beautiful place to live. Thank you for the ride.

Wow what a cool place Paul looks good from the outside and wow that Victorian Archway was awesome. Ohh I had to laugh at the tarp setup to collect the rain water. So many cool things just left behind maybe someone’s memories and probably been scattered around by vandals. I liked all those assortment of those old tools and the tinned solder the guy who lived there was probably a technician of some sort, neat cool explore mate cheers.

When the house owner died or abandoned the house, recycling would have been nice. My dad even would recycle everything he could. Rubbed off on us too. My daughter also recycles used clothing. The rule of the thumb was if it was dirty or stained or unusable it went in a recycling bin, or off to a thrift store. I myself like the older Victorian homes. I could see how nice the house would have been at one time. There’s no saving this one.

Wow, kinda ingenious using the Hills hoist as a bolster!! Those books you stepped over arent bibles, theyre from a set of encyclopaedias, we had the same set, brought from England in 64, so fun seeing things in other peoples houses, that you used to have in yours!! I watch you alot, l adore the older places for their architecture and period details, l especially love fireplaces, stairs, leadlight, kitchen hobs, hall arches and ceiling roses, door and window surrounds, oh and intact return verandahs and filigree ironwork, theyre all a joy to see before theyre sadly gone forever.

The wallpaper in the front room is the same as what i had in my bedroom when i was a kid in the late 70s The toilet's a bit of a shocker. I dont think its even close to cleanable. So's most everything else in the house. I love the interior water feature. Most people have one in the garden. That kitchen is a mid 70 refit without a doubt. orange tiles and dark wood. Its a fixer upper for sure. If you have a friend with a rubbish truck it may be a good investment. It may take a few loads. There's not enough scrap to cover the dump fees to clear the back yard. So that will be an extra cost. It only needs a new wall and roof a full rewire and a little redecorating to bring it screaming into the 2020s.

I don't know about squatters, if there was, they were there for a long time, judging by the grime around switches and door knobs. Whoever they were and wherever they went, I hope they're doing better but I'm not sure. I wonder if they have a fresh new drawer to store their precious empty toilet paper cores in? 🤔 Thanks for the tour Paul, cheers! 🤠👍 🇺🇸

With the auto parts in the shed the owner could have been a mechanic. They would have had permanently black hands that would rub off on the switches and door handles when they went in to try to clean up. It’s very hard to keep clean. Now mechanics wear gloves and don’t get their hands so dirty.

Unfortunately, sometimes nature is the killer of these old cottages. Sometimes the soil type causes movement damage. Neglect of such things as gutters and Downpipes cause water damage to facial and cause movement and wall cracking. I'm an ex brick who adores these old homes, but realise some of them are doomed by time. They of course will be replaced with the modern, ugly, hideous, boring, short lifespan crap built today!
