Junkyard Kevin's gambler car reminds me of a question. For highway touring, would he save gas with large tread diameter? or low profile tires with smaller tread diameter? smaller diameter would lower the car for less air resistance, but larger diameter, as he is running, covers more distance with less RPM's. I don't know which is more important for fuel use.

@willfarrar3263 2 года назад
@@alan6832 I come from the 4x4 world where bigger tire's generally mean decreased fuel economy. The engine has to work harder to turn the larger tire. So even though it's turning slightly less rpm it's working harder at that lower rpm than it otherwise would. Hope that answered your question.
@alan6832

@@willfarrar3263 we do have car clubs and the like but in my opinion they just don’t have that special something that you have in the US. Our proper organised events can be quite good but in terms of a group of people organising an “non official” gathering in an in used car park at a weekend or evening is generally frowned upon and would likely mean the police getting involved. We are generally a nation of car enthusiasts though, especially German / Japanese.
