Abandoned Ghost opened the door for me to explore

I discovered this abandoned farm house the other day and thought I'd upload it now even though I have heaps of other videos sitting in the wings for me to upload. If you believe in spirits and that sort of thing then you'd say that a ghost, spirit, presence, what ever it is had opened the door for me when I walked past it. I see it as an invite from a lonely spirit that may not have seen anyone for a long time and wanted some company. This house was well hidden from the road by over grown trees and plants and there were no tracks or signs of anyone having been there in a while. There was a calendar hanging in the kitchen that was dated 2013 and I'm thinking that that was the last time anyone was in the house. The termites have had a field day with this place and the land is for sale o the house will definitely be torn down. It's not very often that a door will open for you when you walk past it and even though the sound of it banging against the wall spooked me a little I saw it as a sign of it being ok for me to explore this place. Once inside I felt a calmness about the place and some things were strangely dust free considering the length of time the house has sat empty. The items I looked at on the video were mostly dust free. I'm thinking that the last inhabitant to live in the house was an old lady from what I saw inside. I could be totally wrong and it could have been a n old man that liked hobbytex and collecting dolls but I seriously doubt it. This house is in northern nsw of Australia. Leave a comment and let me know what you thought about this place. Do you think it was a ghost or spirit? Give me a thumbs up if you liked the video and if you like my videos, subscribe to my channel and don't forget to click on the notifications to keep up dated

That was a trip down memory lane. Iused to have a dolls pram like that . Absolutely loved it. Having a bride doll was the thing to have. Rarely played with as it was "too special". Mum had the same kind of vases. Flowers from the garden, usually dahlias or plastic. Similar television but ours had a record player. Dad used to play his Slim Dusty albums on a Saturday night. Got the feeling it was a very peaceful place, pity about the termites. Thanks for sharing. Good that the snake skin wasn't on it's owner when you found it ☺

When I go into anyone's house, especially for the first time, I always get a certain "feeling" as to the atmosphere of the place . Its either a good aura or different grades to coldness or sometimes bad vibes. My father had a house that had a terrible, unsettling vibe to it. During the day there was an emptyness to it, even if there were many people present at the time. The night was suffocating, almost unbearable. My father was a wealthy man, but very unhappy and angry. He was no saint before he accumulated his wealth but he appeared to be happier before becoming rich. His last remaining days were on this large property in a secluded rural area in Australia. He was there for about 3 years before he died in the house. He wrote in his will that his mistress could live there rent free for the rest of her life She was extremely sick and depressed over his death. She suicided on pain killers not long after he died. It was 2 or 3 days later that she was found in her bedroom. The house was mothballed for a long time before the estate put it up for rent. The rent was cheap, because no one else but a "thirty something"couple were interested. 7 months later, the firebrigade were called out by a passing car when they saw smoke at the property. It was found that the property had been used as a meth lab. The couple were connected with an outlaw motorcycle group. They were imprisoned. There was not too much damage done to the house. The estate could not sell the place so it lay unused. My brother was having problems with money so he told the estate he would stay there and look after the upkeep, if it was rent free. I told him at the time, to get out of there as soon as he gets back on his feet. I went there only the once to see him. I found it very uncomfortable, unnerving being in the house. In the few months he was there, he had a friend killed in a car accident, after leaving the house. Also my brother was chased on foot by a gun wielding man early one morning. He was lucky to have gotten away. He started drinking quite a bit as he was depressed about his friend who was incinerated in the car crash. He said he had just gotten to the house one particular evening after work and switched on the tv. He said he heard something scuffing along the floor. He looked over and saw a "thong" we call them in Australia, flip flop in America, skid about 12 inches along the tiles in his direction and come to a stop. He said it startled him because there was no one else there. Hes a very old school, no bs sort of a man, about 6' 3 and built like two side by side refridgerators He had a look around then put it out of his mind. The following week he was to start nightshift. He started the shift at 1 am so he thought he would have a few hours sleep beforehand. He woke up about 10 pm got showered, dressed and poured a coffee. He was listening to the radio when he heard a swoosh noise in the air. He said that one of our father's "stubby" holders( small rubber/insulated beer can or bottle holder ) flew just in front of his face. He told me he looked in the direction it came from and there was no one there. He grasped his car keys and sped off like he was being chased. He said there was no one else in the house when it happened. He has never believed in any supernatural or afterlife stuff, but now he's changed his mind. Our father despised my brother all through his life. He was mentally and physically cruel to him. My father would have hated my brother being at the house, especially without rental payment. I believe my brothers account. The fact that it was one of our fathers possessions thrown at him, just cements my belief in what happened. The house is still unoccupied after 3 years. I say all this as a warning, if you are looking at a house to rent or buy, go on your gut instinct.

Maybe there were nasty sprites before your dad moved in & maybe he refuses to go into the 'light' & stays there in sprite or the other sprite (s) won't let him leave & don't forget the dead girl friend. Strange stuff. I believe you're right about going with your gut on being in places. If something says "leave" with your feelings then LEAVE. Better to be safe than sorry.

Such a beautiful & magical place! I have lived in a few places that were similar out here in California & it was common for farmhouses to have kitchens & bathrooms on the outdoor areas of these homes. Large covered porches & overhangs were easily enclosed & it was easier having these close to the living quarters when the old out houses were replaced by indoor plumbing! I'm almost 65 & I'd happily live in that little beauty & replace each board as time allowed. What a fun project! The garden must have been amazing in it's day. Good video. That photo on the dining room table was most likely the previous generation of the last owner/occupants!
@sherrydee7880

Oh, that dining room table & matching chairs would easily fetch $2-3,000 in California. And that television console an easy $1,500. I'd value the dolls @ $100.00 each minimum & that metal bed would fetch an easy $200 in an estate sale!

You had made the comment about the location of the kitchen, back when those houses were built they kept the kitchens separated from the main house in case it were to catch fire.

So sad there are so many old homes like this in Nth NSW usually on properties where the kids didn't want to farm, Dad has died and Mum usually ends up in a nursing home. Kitchens weren't part of the main house because when these old houses were built they had wood combustion stoves and having it separate stopped the main part getting hot in Summer and smokey.

It is amazing to me that the place was not vandalized with graffiti all over the place. People in America ruin everything many kids in America have no respect for the history of abandoned places. Such a wonderful thing that remains intact - a history of those that lived there. The door seemed to open welcoming you to explore a place where flowers and animals and plants were a love of the previous owner/s. Great video.

Patrick Boone - most of American kids are spoiled brats and have more than they need - I can say what I want to - explain why they are all marching to ban guns - they just do what the crowd does - children these days are raised in the schools to be believe everything is owed to them - what do you know? I raised 5 boys and they never did anything like the kids do these days - I am proud of the men, fathers and husbands they have become. But kids in this day and age are mostly molly coddled and spoiled to death. You can voice your own opinion but stop criticizing mine - everyone of you has an opinion.

I think the house was a boarding house. It seemed like the rooms in the front were boarders rooms because each room had its own door outside. The keys on the table could very well be room keys. At least some of them. There were quite a few keys that were double keys on a ring. One for boarder and one for the landlord. One key for the kitchen door. I believe the landlord was a lady because the curtains, dolls and feminine things around. She probably died in the house in the bedroom off the kitchen because of the bed. That bed had the bedding rolled up like someone other than the user would do. I, also, believe it was her ghost that opened the door. She was probably a hard working pleasant soul who loved the house very much and would invite in a visitor. I love these type of videos and I really enjoyed this one.

I can relate to the ghostly door opening .. in Queensland part way along the Mundubbera / Durong Road a few clicks south of the town, there is an old abandoned Community Hall with a rainwater tank at the back. One day after stopping to get water when I opened the gate into the overgrown yard the door of the Hall which had been partly ajar slammed shut .. made me think the shade of some long forgotten deb was at hand. While we are on the subject .. when I was about 9 yo in Adelaide SA the door to an abandoned inner city building which had been locked tight every time I had been by was slightly open, it looked like it had been pulled closed but the catch had not taken properly, I gave it a shove and it swung open. Inside were bare floorboards and an empty receptionist's cubicle with no telephone, a broad set of stairs went upwards to a bare corridor with about three doors, as I got to the top of the stairs the door nearest the steps opened and a man dressed in old fashioned circa 1959 office clothing stepped out. He looked me up and down then went back in leaving the door open, I stuck my head in to find the room entirely bare and empty, I decamped .. there have been quite a few others :) Cheers.

Interesting place. It looked like maybe someone removed everything they wanted from the house and left the rest. But strangely some of the items left looked to be nice things. The dining room looked totally out of place with rest of the house which looked destroyed or just empty. The dishes in the dish drainer looked like someone had just washed them. Sort of a spooky place !

The house is probably haunted. Have to admit years ago I moved into to rent this lovely oldfarm house and it had Cherry wood and was thinking it was nice with double sized rooms like 18x24, and my mother was with me when I ws takign soem things to the home in mid Winter ( snowy months in North east) and when we drove up driveway and got out of the cr, the door opened. the big door inside opened up inside toward kitchen and the SCREEN also opened up but on outside of building all t one time! Mom and I laughed and I said " the house must be welcoming us" But we wer joking thinkg the land lord was inside. Well NO ONE was inside! We went up and down stairs while inside and it took time as it was many rooms and NO ONE was inside. SCARY sort of, but I STILL did not beleive. My mom felt the home had a bad "feeling" As time wehnt on other doors opened up while I wa at aork, and then had party at the home after my brother and wife wer married and after reception many came to the home, and my grandmother was going to spend the night. She was just sitting in kitchen , she said to me " Someone just went up stairs and they do not belong here" I STILL could not believe and grandma said " OK do not believe me, but someone went upstairs and they are not family" ( I really had not heard so much about ghost things so had problems believing. But could tell you many things after that that happened but it would be too long and finally I HAD to leave could not handle it. Awakened by door flying open and seeing shadow person running through house. ( I almost had panic attack that night!) I really liked the home so much, and yet it was really too big and cost to much to heat, but in all of it mostly the ghosts were too much for me as time went on. It had to be as of the things went on were crazy. I never researched the home, as people did not know that kind of thing then. But later someone else moved in and they rented it, and found out that that person did end up killing himself in the home and what was worse yet, they BOTH ( husband and wife) went to school with me. Only he did it, but that was terrible and I would have told them before they moved in, had I known they were doing so. But they may not have listened, who knows? Too long a story but think you have the idea? So when door opened above I had to think of this. ONLY if you had another person inside to do it, and did not see anyone with you, so guess that was out. Also, you truly seemed surprised about it.

Great video! Had the same thing happen to me when we were visiting the old historic and very haunted Myrtles Plantation here in Louisiana. As I was walking by one of the LOCKED doors, I literally heard the lock turn and the door creak open. I had to alert staff there because apparently it was an area of the home that was off limits. They came, locked it back up, said thank you for letting them know, and said they were quite used to that type of thing happening.

In hot climates often times the kitchen would be kept away from the rest of the house because the kitchen would get hot while cooking and they didn't want that extra heat to get into the rest of the house. This would be before the days of air conditioning. Some houses had two kitchens. One in the house to use during winter so the rest of the house could benefit from the heat of the kitchen and an outside summer kitchen. The great grandmother of a friend of mine had a kitchen in the basement of the house to cook in during the summer so the rest of the little house would not heat up. Also she could use the stove up stairs and in the basement at the same time to cook lots of things at once for a party. Serious Jewish people sometimes have two kitchens as well to keep certain foods kosher esp during certain holidays and their Sabbath. Judging by your accent I'm assuming you're Australian. Granted I don't know much about Australia, I do know much of it is pretty darn hot, so that might be the reason for the separated kitchen. Yes, I heard the door unlatch and open. The wind seemed pretty still outside so I doubt the door was pushed or sucked open by the wind. And if it was indeed latched shut, the wind would not be able to open the door anyway. Some one was kind enough to let you in. Leave them an offering of thanks before you leave.

What I would not give to have the baby carraige! I've wanted one my entire life since I was about 4 yrs. old...I am now 75 & still want one. Like the English carriages. The one in this house, sadly left to ruin, is worth BIG BUCK$ because of its age. Me? I would love to have it restored and keep it for what is left of my twilight years. Just to put my most precious doll in it & love looking at it in my bedroom every day. Viewing abandoned places for several years on you tube, at places all over the world, it is always such a shame to see the HUGE WASTE, of property and furnishings. No one appreciates anything anymore. Very heartbreaking and sad. Thing is, people today have never seen hard times...REALLY HARD times. Never learned a thing from their parents, grandparents great grandparents. How they lived and made it through the Great Depression, then WW2. Always grateful for every- thing they managed to accomplish afterwards. Descendants just walk away from it, let it rot....except for any CA$H if any left in the bank. No money? Not interested in *things* like grandpa & grandpas favorite chairs or dishes....lovely keepsakes. No, cannot $pend those for a new car or tv or garbage that lasts for about a year or less. Well, that's my take on these lovely old places left to ruin and the bulldozers, eventually when the taxes haven't been paid.

When my Grandmother died, me and my mom were like 2 of the only ones in our family that were excited about things like old tea cups / saucers & I loved going through her vinyl records. A bunch of my family were acting like gold digging jerks, made me sick. Went into the home and took things that were supposed to go to other family members via will and they just took shit worth lots of money. My cousin also found every jar or quarters which Tutu (Grandma in Hawaiian) & Papa (Grandpa in Hawaiian, Respectfully) had stashed all over the house. I actually really didn't want much that was passed down I was the only family member though who wanted the grave plot that was left in Seattle. Tutu and Papa lived in the desert in So Cal. But Tutu's mom lived up in Washington state, which is where I live. I thought free grave next to my great grandparents, sure! At least i'll be prepared!

Just came across this one and pretty cool. The kitchen and bedrooms were for the summer. We rented an old farm house over 140 years and there was a summer kitchen away from the main house. It had a small staircase that went up to 4 bedrooms. It also helped control the heat in the summer and helped heat in the winter. It wasn’t uncommon back in the day to build summer rooms. Or some would just sleep on a screened porch if they were lucky. Lol.

This has been the most enjoyable house tour I've ever watched. I love the concept of ghosts and spirits. Thank you so much for showing this video.

I'd be tempted to buy the land. Dolls were creepy. I have never seen a house with wooden slatted ceiling. And, those pointless ceiling roses next to the overhead light just coming out of the ceiling. That mounded bit on the wall looked like mold to me. Would hate to be the one to have to clear out the place.

@mkuebler5
@mkuebler5 6 лет назад
Dawn Lindgron I'm not sure? So much of the house was dustless which I found interesting when I was exploring. There was hardly any dust on the table cloth on the dinning table and hardly any on other things in the house. I agree someone had moved stuff previously ie: on the television but it could have been a long time ago because right beside the television which you cant see is an old stereo covered by another cloth which had absolutely no dust on it at all.

we had one of those prams. It was handed down through the generations. We use to use it by sitting in it at the top of the hill and going down the hill. Had so many crashes in it but the pram never got damaged. Some of that furniture is worth a fair bit as it is making a massive comeback. The kids highchair stunning. Those dolls creepy but worth a fair bit. I want the laundry basin though. Cant get them these days.

Having to go out on the veranda to get from kitchen to main part of house or vice-versa isn't as weird as you think. It was a common way to build houses in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Indeed the house I grew up in at Stockton was originally like that until my father built the back veranda into a room and widened the door into the kitchen. Access to bathroom and laundry was off the kitchen and the toilet was outside. Yep, typical early-20th century design.
@kristinburton4953

Nobody repects those things, leaving them to rot. Even though the owners of the property own those bit and pieces, they don't seem to think they have any value, not ensuring their safety, whether from mould or weather damage. It doesn't seem nice to say, but I'd understand someone taking them.
@sueturnermrsuniverseaustra4220
I collect old dolls 1800 1900 the old pram I have one similar. Very special indeed. Such a shame to leave them there to deteriorate. 😩

Awesome cool video. The house layout was different but im sure it has to do with how it was built and the reasons the kitchen was in a separate area. The dolls were cool but too clean compared to the rest of the home so those look pretty recent.
