That's not bad compared to the show Hoarders. That's barely anything, probably just started to be a hoarder. I have cringed and been sickened to see what this mental health issue causes people to live like. There are many you feel bad for because they don't see it as an issue and it's completely normal in their mind.
The army jacket with the honor Guard tab is for someone who served in the 2nd Logistics Command, this unit served mostly in Okinawa. Depending on the time period the rank is either for a Specialist 3 or Specialist 4, going by the uniform most likely Spec 4.
Don't assume they're suffering. My mom's house is like this. She claims it's from growing up during the great depression and WWII and learning not to throw anything away.
Keep plenty of gloves, masks and Benadryl on hand as you help clean out this hoard. I hope you find some good treasure. Can't wait to see more of this house. I love watching the youtubers who clean out hoarder houses. One of my favorites is Alex's channel Curiosity Inc.
Alex on the Curiosity Inc. RU-vid channel just finished a hoarder house that I'm assuming belonged to the former owners of an Antique Shop. Awesome treasures were found. Good luck hunting the goodies in this house, Renee.
I can't wait! This house is a mix of awesome and discussing. I hope you did not find ANY critters, alive or dead! Some houses are so bad you can not see the floor at all! Please do use gloves at all times, at the very least you could get an infection from a cut or scratch! Please be careful and stay safe! ❤❤
WOW! This is an amazing pick! Good for you and Tony. I’m looking forward to more from this job. The Angel print at the beginning I believe is what’s termed a “rubbing”. Many were done in churchyards and the like. The WWII POSTERS are to die for. Keep up great work! 🕷💥🥳
As far as being a hoarder's house, it really wasn't that bad. As an urbex video, that was one fascinating house. Especially the old icebox, built into the wall. Would love to hear some backstory on it. Great video Cheers
I am so excited for the next video😘This was so fun. Tony is a great friend and he is funny to listen to.☺The two of you getting excited about something, it's great to watch. Is Taco coming too🤣? You have me hooked on his videos also.👏💋 Thank you so much
WOWSERS Renee. This is going to be the most unbelievable pick of the century. I can not believe you found the poster. The Red Cross one is awesome. God Bless you Renee and your friend. On to the next video. See you soon. Mari'a. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Happy days are here again...this channel never disappoints, thanks to Renée and Tony ! Sad to see that this was a very neat home a couple of years ago. Now it´s a typical hoarders location. Time to wear constantly a mask during this job, Renée, I can smell the mold in the air ! 😱 Very nice first finds on these WW I /II posters, if they are originals and not reprints. Can´t wait to see episode No. 2 of this expedition ! Greets from GER, U.
Original posters! The Uncle Sam one is my favorite, haven't been able to find another one like it (from the quick research that I did). I'm bringing my better mask the next time we go for more picking!
@@PaperandMoose This means big buck ! Interesting to take a look at the "red series". The Japanese guy is not emperor Hirohito or General Tojo, but admiral Yamamoto who commanded the attack on Pearl Harbour. This could be an indicator for an early print from 1941/42.
I just found your channel and you have a new subscriber. I love those urban explorers' channels but every time I watch them I'm like, "Someone needs to save those things", like certain knick knacks, china, old kitchen utensils and/or appliances, etc. You've just scratched that itch. I'm so glad you are doing this. The other videos you have look very interesting also and I will be bingeing.
Thanks for stopping by! I also watch urban explorers and feel the same way but understand their motto/intentions of taking nothing & leaving nothing. Though it does hurt my heart to see what things have been left behind! I have a playlist of some of my other clean outs, so enjoy!
I see a few dumpster loads coming. Still, looks like fun! I always wanted to be an archaeologist, but I think this kinda thing is as close as I could get! :-)
I laughed when you said you were in the "junk room" because to me every room in that house could be called that. For your and Tony's sake, I am glad that this is just a pick and not a cleanout because it looks like there is a lot of nasty stuff in that house that could make you sick. But there also appears to be a lot of great finds in amongst the junk so I can't wait to see what treasures you two discover!
This was so lovely to see, for two reasons. 1) you and Taco are clearly peas in a pod with your zest for adventure and finding treasure. 2) I'm subscribed to Spaulding Decomp, and when they do hoard clearing they're instructed to throw everything/nearly everything. Sometimes they don't get a choice because of bio. So it's really nice to see you get a chance to go through looking at somebody else's treasures. Looking forward to part two, which in itself is an unexpected bonus.
Hurrah y’all got the house to pick. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Hoarding is such a disease it’s so sad. My mother-in-law is pretty close to this and I have learned that it actually happened once her mother passed away. I’m not really sure why that would cause holding on to things but I guess that loss was too traumatic. ?? Your house looks fairly good compared to the one I’m watching on Curiosity Inc. he’s in Canada it’s bad. ~ Texas
Wow, I wish I were there. Looks like a lot of great flea market material. Except for the WWII posters and uniforms, it reminds me a lot of my mom's house. She always insisted that it came from growing up during the great depression and WWII and learning not to throw anything away. I think when she does pass away, I'll have to spend months going through everything.
So sad to think someone lived like that. I know you said that no one had lived there for a number of years but I would guess the last person who did was in a bad way for it to get that hoarded. Hope you can find some real treasures but I suppose there will be several dumpster loads as well.
Hi, the best investment I made last winter was an Ororo heated vest. I work outside a lot, I wore it with a longer very lightweight jacket on top, and was toasty all winter. Go to their website, they have flash sales all the time. If you wear a med. size jacket, buy a small vest. The posters are amazing, tfs.
This will be a interesting pick. Loved the posters. Definitely mask up & be safe. Worry about the small creatures you may encounter. Take care & waiting for more insight in the mysteries of this house. Enjoy as always.
I love your videos. I watch every day. Seeing the stacks of old newspapers in this house reminded me of a recent purchase my son made at a picker's mall. He found old colored comic strips that came in the Sunday paper. He found half page ones of Dick Tracy for sale for $7.95. These were from the 1940's but thought you might check among those in that house to see the dates and if there were Sunday comics. I think they are becoming collectable since most printed newspapers don't exist anymore. Just a thought.
Wow! You are my hero!! I could not ever never ever go in that house!! Fortunately you found some great item right off as encouragement to keep moving forward
Those posters were great....You might have to wear those coveralls while digging in that hoard. Let's hope you can find an old radio in there somewhere! 😜
Totally amazing place. Must admit though as I'm watching i'm wrinkling my nose at the probable smell ! Greetings from Kent in the UK. Those posters !!!
I’d wear a hazmat suit going into that house just looking at it gave me the creeps. Those posters are worth some serious money I’d find a collector and get them appraised. On American Pickers I remember Mike stepping up his offer on War posters. Be safe in there Renee
That's a huge jackpot finding all the WW1 & WW2 War bond and Propaganda posters..😲😍 There's some beautiful prints and very desirable subject matter on all of these.. I love them all Rene.. Can't wait to see what the next big find will be..🤓 Take care always..👍💕🔥⚾🤙
Hi Rene, This looks like so much fun!! I know that’s not how a lot of people would see it, but clearly you do and so do I😁 Glad this opportunity came your way, and thanks for sharing. Can’t wait for part two!
Hey Renee I don't know if it was you that I mentioned this to in the past. But it is a Good Idea to go through the newspapers. There could possibly be money in them. My Dad knew a guy that hid his cash in his stacks of newspapers. His reason was so if anyone broke into his house they most likely wouldn't find it. So of course when he died, Dad told the family.
I strongly encourage you wear a mask and gloves. The mice droppings and mold are bound to be there in abundance - and one doesn’t want to risk the possible repercussions of those toxins. Hope you find more treasures you love.
Thank goodness we do not have to do this clean out! It would be costly and not really worth it for the homeowner, as cleaning it out wouldn't add any value to the home for reselling. It most likely has to be either a complete gut or torn down.
Wow...that looks just like my home....but no FR-GS....LOL! Wait for the fridge!!!! Speaking of things fridggy...love that vintage oak ice box...looks like one we had in a small cabin my folks purchased...we actually used it...of course...I remember it as a little guy. When the old cabin was torn down to make way for the new house...the ice box was sold off to a friend of dad's. Up those creaky stairs to see a "water closet" very similar to the one in my bathroom, even as to the color! It's truly amazing how all that stuff accumulates!! Those clothes might just disintegrate in washing or cleaning them...when I was involved in cleanouts, we just pitched all the old clothes, bedding and such. Those posters are probably from the American Nazi Party, and the Japanese supporters...don't forget the Italians! My paternal grand dad had to register as an American Citizen, being he was from Germany. He carried a special I.D. card. There were illegal German and Italian, as well as Japanese spies, infiltrating the country...mostly scare tactics by the government. That's why the Japanese Americans faced those so called detention centers, in reality prisons. Couple of the posters look like reproductions from the WW I era. Better than a dead homo sapiens! you'll have quite an adventure in that domicile!
Hoarding is such a tragedy...in this case I wonder about the cognitive stability of the homeowner. They may have just reached a point of such mental decline, whereas they may have been more mentally stable in earlier years, and could better keep things under control. The soiled tissues in the bathroom...so sad, it breaks my heart for the resident of that home...perhaps waterlines fell into disrepair years ago and then they just had the water shutoff. I do love the vintage posters, BTW, ....looking forward to your next video to see what treasures you have found. Got Bless 💕
Hoarding is awful. Family can want to help all they want, but sometimes the help is turned away and/or it can cause splits in relationships. In this case, I think it was decline due to older age and finally they were able to be removed from the home and put into a better living situation.
Always looking forward to your videos, Renee. Your sad animal was once somebody's happy time,🐶so thankfully they served their purpose. Speaking like a Mum now, PLEASE keep your mask and rubber gloves on 😷🧤and refrain from touching your face and hair. In fact a scarf around your hair might protect you from any *mites living in the recesses of the goods. There may be some unsavory germs still alive in there! Take care, your friend too, and stay away from the bathrooms! Ich! ❤🙏✝
😭😭😭 Sad that this house was so neglected. Is it possible that the owner couldn't keep up with the maintenance because she/he had not only mental issues but physical as well making it difficult?
Wow. Those posters were amazing! Do you and Tony split stuff like that or does he get them all? That house is just sad. It's a horrible disorder and so hard for them to adjust. Are you doing a complete clean out or just picking? Clean out will take a while with that much trash and stuff to go through. Looking forward to the next episode. Take care.
Wow what a pick! Hope you find many nice, saveable things. Mince, I'm always concerned when I open a cupboard that has clothes stacked on shelves, but I only go into occasionally. Good luck! 👍👍
I caught a peek of several things in that first closet... wowser 👍. Will certainly be looking for future videos of the closet clean-outs!!! There has to be content for 7 or 8 videos here 👍.
I'm trying to piece them together the best that I can. I prefer to have them each be around 15 minutes or so, as the longer videos lose interest. Don't want viewers to miss out on some of the fun things we have found!
Ugh, that nasty toilet paper! I almost threw up. Those posters made it worth it lol. You two are going to find some great things. I can't wait to see it all.
Reminds me of a house my dad cleaned out newspapers were piled to the celing and used toilet paper piled up in the bathrooms. Plus the guy was dead in there for a few months before they found him. There was lots of treasures though. I was only 10 at the time so luckily i didnt have to deal with it
Oh man... and I think the smells in this home are the worst that I've dealt with. I can't imagine what that must have been like! Also, poor guy to have been there for so long before being discovered.
@@PaperandMoose Yeah the mail man called it in when it was piled up to the slot. Kinda crazy. It was a mansion in a very rich neighborhood. Big job. And we were moving just months later so had alot of extra stuff to move. We went back years later and it was unrecognizeable they totally renovated it.
Renee, if the smell is bad...and it looks like it would be...put a little Vicks vapor rub under your nose or just inside your nostrils. Some folks with rough smelling jobs use it. Glad to see you wearing a mask. I would keep it up. It will keep the Vicks in and the potty smells out. Eager to see round two.
