I cried seeing the castle left to be destroyed by nature. The workmanship, blood, sweat and tears left to be forgotten. Fantastic job with the video, very emotional.

Wow what a stunning building. Imagine how it would of been with children running through the building and adults being busy. So much history in this building.

What a wonder and what a gift! This castle was really beautiful. One thing that intrigues me: Why don't they sell the properties since they can't take care of it and prefer to abandon it🤷‍♀️👍🤩

Wish we could go back in time for a few hours, to experience this magnificent castle in it's glory days! 😲 I can't help but wonder if some family members from years ago still reside...in spirit? Thanks for letting us see this beautiful place!❤

The way you narrate the video and this soundtrack make us even sadder to think that this castle has had happy days, children ran and played in the corridors, guests ate, drank and sang happily on feast days. And faithful prayed in the chapel every Sunday morning before that delicious lunch made in this beautiful kitchen. How can they abandon a gem like that? That's my question.
@francoamerican4632
@francoamerican4632 Год назад
@Paulo Nunez The most likely reason that this place has been abandoned is money. The repair/upkeep costs for this place would be astronomical plus the property taxes and the heating and cooling costs. However, I do remember seeing a documentary about a couple that restored a dilapidated castle to its former glory, so it's not unheard of. I can't remember the name or details of the documentary other than it was on youtube and I watched it several years ago.

Thanks so much, BB. I like the old architecture even if the house is empty. Thank you for showing the fireplace tiles & close ups of the stair railing. It's truly sad to me that people build their great monuments to themselves and then when they leave this world it all returns to the earth eventually. Dust to dust. Glad you were able to get out safely! How far did you have to walk to get back to your car?

WHEEEEEE-UUUUUUUUWWWWWWWW!!! Glad you got out! That was really something! Can you imagine what this was like so many years ago?!? Thanks for taking us! Well, it was truly worth it for me! LOL! What a rush! I understand this from an owner's position - the liability, the destruction from those not so kind. But now there are SO MANY OF US who get to see something so amazing without that entering the mix. It is such a shame such places have to go to waste and not be appreciated : REVERENTLY. I wish there was a way to do this in an organized, protected, authentic way without violating any rights or trust. SAD. Love ya Mr. Big! Thanks for the trip! Good one!

23:14 This level is where the servant's probably were quartered, it's also one of the most interesting because you can see the construction of the house much clearer, the old construction. Not just the re finished salons and dining rooms, but the actual age of the house.

The castle is beautiful! The outside is in good shape, I am not surprised about the inside as it always decay's first especially when abandoned for yrs. Still beautiful in it's decayed shape. I'm surprised the window's are still intact and no graffiti is nice as well. I really love the big rooms, the built-in's, the marble fireplaces, the ceiling with the wooden beams, and the spiral staircase was pretty cool. I could imagine how breathtaking it must have been in it's heyday.

The man being so rich, I am sure had a good life insurance policy for his family. The wife with the policy plus furnishings in the place auctioned off should have put on a roof with some of the money to protect the castle from deterioration. Then pay taxes and live off the rest. I imagine that the taxes might could have been more than her life insurance and furnishings. So if that's the case I can see she would quickly be behind and in debt maybe in less than 2 years. Really sad. Just really sad. Makes you sort of sick to your stomach to think of so much cost and hard work went into the place and seems like now, all for not. You could tell some of the rooms were probably once very lovely. But then reminded of desperate attempts to keep water at bay with plastic on the floor, which of course does nothing. The water flows to the edge and damages that. Just such a sickening waste. Thank you for the tour and please don't get into quick sand again. You could die. Seriously!

Hi Terry! I had the same question. What happend with the chateau? I have seen it from other you tubers and i did not recornized the rooms at all. Even when it is emptied out like this you will recornise details like stairs, wallpaper, hallways. To me it feels like a total difrent chateau.
@dandereninja4750
@dandereninja4750 Год назад
@@rootontheroad My guess is with the holes in the ceilings and open windows the inside was exposed to the outside elements and decayed rather quickly. Though you can see trash and the like from others who had either been exploring the inside or squatting there temporarily.

Hundreds of years of history right there. I do wish you had pointed the camera UP more.. Especially in the turrets and the Chapel. BTW, those rooms with the numbers were once maid's bedrooms. The further up you go, the less ornate they each become. Family members with lower status were housed further up, and then the maid's rooms were located above them. The lower the station of the madis, the further up she had to climb to reach her accommodations.

I may be one of the few, and although I admire and am in awe of how they built such amazing structures, ESP. in the past, without use of todays tools! However, I would FAR rather live in a TINY HOME than one of these fortresses/castles. There's 3 of us living in a 3 bdrm bungalow/full bsmt and I want to downsize, altho my guy & our son (both 6'2 big guys)just don't have TINY HOME in mind like I want! But this place is for sale now & I AM determined we ARE downsizing as it's just too much for me to take proper care of a full house (w/little help!). So while it may not be a TINY home, it will def be smaller for sure. Sadly, with the way the GREED of the World is, and co$t$ ri$ing SO high w/food, power, etc, I think MANY others will find themselves in similar situation.
