This was one of my favorite places that you visited. It definitely made me love Finland even more! My daughter had her DNA analyzed and she has a bit of Finnish. I don't know if she got that from me, her father or grandparents of old. My DNA analysis just said Scandinavian. So maybe I know that it is actually Finnish! If you get a chance I hope you get to go back again! 🙂

For a house that’s been abandoned for at least 40 years which also has broken windows, it’s actually in pretty good shape. I was surprised to see some very interesting items that were left behind. That kitchen stove is amazing along with that really nice armoire, Both of which have beautiful detail. I know it’s disrespectful and in bad taste to take things from abandoned places but sometimes I feel bad when I see really nice interesting pieces that will be lost to time.

I think that since the window is already smashed badly, it is ok to break out the remaining shards so you can get in without slicing yourself!

This home is fantastic. What a wonderful house almost frozen in time. Love the kitchen with the stove with the hot water faucet. This place is a treasure. Handmade and handcrafted. Thought maybe this house had an old form of security when you could not find the door. I thought maybe you had to enter with a hidden ladder or there was a false wall with a hidden door. Wonderful find all around! Now on to Part 2. ~k

Almost a shock to see a home sit from 1984 until today & no idiot burned it down. Thanks for sharing the fun! I wondered why you walk past 2 times the entrance, but it was well covered. I agree, the Juice would be "extreme" in either direction sitting that long.

My mom had a trestle Singer sewing machine where you use your feet to pump up and down like the one here. If no power, you'd always be able to sew. Maybe it's me but between the strong breeze and the light, it gives me the feeling of an Indian Summer.

Heck, this Welsh-American in Maine (York county) agrees with you! Sadly, the farming character of my little village is vanishing as homeseekers get financially pushed out of Portland and so every other plot of beautiful farmland gets turned in a cookie cutter collection of homes. :-(

I really love that little place the stove is awesome. I'll live there. The tredell sewing machine is antique and worth over a thousand dollars in USA. Lots of these old abandon places have these beautiful machines all metal which they don't make any more. You now get plastic parts inside which wear out. Mine in my machine is all steel. But I don't have a tredell machine. '

Some people here put new radio parts in old cabinets, to use for decorator radio. The old shovel was a post hole digger for fence posts. Horse tack and looked like rigging for Sleigh bells. Maybe Mrs. Santa used to live there?

I don't think you realize how funny and entertaining you are! You had me cracking up! I found it interesting that the house appeared to be in fairly decent condition given its age and also that the currency was outdated or obsolete. Although everyone is aware of Euros... It's still kind of a strange concept to have entirely different currency. - Love from the U.S. -

I think on some farms when there is an old house that either the person passed away, or the family just needed more space, they didn't tear them down when they build new houses on the land. Instead they became another storage outbuilding. Three generations or more later, those suckers can get really full

Wow, never seen a bed like that. You are too paranoid. Some people here in the US lived in old outdated houses in the mountains in the 80's. The most interesting part of the first room "ancient" kitchen was that stove/oven and you basically ignored it. Please shut the cabinet doors and drawers, with so many broken windows, animals can get in there and destroy what's in them. Couch is from 50's 0r 60's, not 70's. Beautiful old wardrobe. Those old bikes are awesome. Thanx for the vid.

Awesome episode Janne. One thing I do want to say though and I think I speak on behalf of all your viewers is; please be careful when you're coming in a window with shards of glass hanging down like that! All it takes is for it to fall whilst you're climbing in and it you could have ended up with your throat slit or it cutting a major artery! Regarding the house itself, it's really cool but I can't help feeling a little sad wondering what happened to the people that used to live there. Especially when there was that ladies dress hanging up in the closet.

It seems there was people living there from about 1930 to 1983... Te old lady must moved with a relative or passed in the eighties. Her soul was there when you touched her Bible... you felt the wind outside ;) Sad that nobody could fix and live that cozy little place! Thanks for share!
