Abandoned house on the corner of River Hill Rd. and Gilmore Rd. in Tuscarawas County Ohio. This house was built sometime in the early 1800s. I talked to a man that owns property next to it and he told me at one time it almost became the Tuscarawas County Seat. I really like the charm of the spiral staircase as you enter the front door. When I went into the blue room upstairs I felt a strong vibe of a man dying from a heart attack! When I went looking for a basement, the entrance was on the outside of the house and was very small and narrow made of stones with a short door! It could have been a root cellar at one time. I also had a vibe of someone being murdered when the first family live here! Photo and video by Vanessa Bechter. 4-8-2016 Thank you for watching and please subscribe to my channel!

For some reason out of a lot of old house videos, this house seems lonely & sad. It looks like it was a beautiful place that someone really loved. A house with a broken heart.

+M Ricci...It was a very old house. Just think how many generations of families lived there. From all the info I gathered I am guessing it was built in the late 1700's!

Hi! I love that so many are doing vids like this! Beautiful old home, I'm sure, back in its day. Two things (meant well, not nasty): 1. Please slow it down a bit so we can see what you see; a lot of zinging round corners results in missing a lot of details (not for you, because you're there). 2. A lot of this was shot viewing only the top half of the room. A wider shot (if possible) would be a lot more interesting. Admittedly, I've so far just seen this one of your vids, but of all the people doing this, only Dan Bell seems to do it slowly enough to take it all in (that I've seen). Some doing this on YT (not you) are ONLY zinging around, so you see almost nothing but blur, and it gets frustrating when its such cool old places and things inside! Again, not meant as anything but constructively. I love what your doing, and it's really cool, and don't want to sound like an ass. I just really want to see this stuff!! So thanks so much for all you do! Peace.

The overcast sky went so well with the deserted house. The house is fairly modest in size (no back staircase) but must have been quite luxurious. Maybe built for a well-to-do couple with few children? I can hardly believe that staircase is intact and hasn't been vandalized. I think I saw a space where one spindle (?) is missing but that may have happened long ago.--I agree: looks like a homeless person had been there. If my memory is right, I read somewhere that before closets became common in houses, early closets were shallow because clothing was hung up so you saw them from the front rather than from the side. There must have been chests-of-drawers and armoires.--With all those big windows a lot of natural light would---and still does---come in.

I really like your video, the paneling in the kitchen.... I can tell it's from the 1970s. I love the wicked staircase, but was disappointed to find that it went straight into a wall I thought it would go into another room or something. and yes that basement entrance was very disturbing. you should never go on outings like that in abandoned houses without someone with you, you could fall throught the floors and get hurt and nobody would ever know you were there.
@cjsk45
@cjsk45 6 лет назад
Instead of panning fast over all the peeling walls, it would've been nice if you'd done some close ups of the woodwork, and I caught a glimpse of patterned glass in one of the doors to the outside, but of course, you just flashed by it. I have to agree with Dennis Morrison. You could learn from criticism instead of being insulted.

Thank You for talking your way through this old home. Was worried that you had attempted those stairs alone. Never had seen those lovely old doors with two vertical windows and really liked those long windows that almost reached the floor. The porch on this home that you showed that was enclosed was used as a laundry room.. as I notice on your filming on the ay out looking for a entrance to the basement... I noticed a dryer vent on the exterior.. Love that house.. still could be restored.... beautiful staircase...and in decent shape .. just needs refinishing.. and lots of love... Looks like people have slept there recently to get out from the cold... Any history on this home why it was abandoned and how long it's been left in this condition ?
