All these people talking about how beautiful it is and that it’s such a shame. I wouldn’t take this house if they actually paid me to take it. If you knew the real story behind this evil and vile family you might feel differently.

The horrors that place must have seen

What a stunning place! There's no way it is abandoned. It may not be inhabited but someone is paying for it to be looked after and maintained. Think you guys were very lucky to get as far as you did. Thanks for sharing you adventure!

It's hard to believe that there isn't a groundskeeper on the property. It's even harder to believe that nobody knew these guys were on the property lol.

It’s nice to see that abandoned castles still have landscaping services.

Those two metal signs you discovered along the driveway as you approached the mansion are grave markers for two thoroughbred horses: Ocean Swell and Blue Peter, both Epsom Derby winners from the Mentmore stud farm in the estate from when it was owned by Archibald Philip Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery, who later became the Prime Minister of England for two years from 1894 to 1896.

Nice gardens, security cameras, etc. There's no way this place is abandoned.

Cool video. What an amazing building. I wouldn't underestimate the security though, or think the gate wasn't left open for you to leave and shut behind you. I reckon they watched your every step.

Man, the skill, attention to detail and design that went into building this mansion is unreal. It just baffles me what level of craftsmanship humans were capable of in those days.

I think that round structure you found at around 9:30 might be an ice house. Before refrigeration people used to buy and store large blocks of ice shipped in from Norway and other places for use during the summer. The opening scenes of Frozen show how it was done. The ice would then be packed in a structure like that and insulated with sawdust and the ice used during the summer.

What an absolute fabulous property, but someone somewhere still pays for the grounds to be maintained example grass cutting, security cameras still working which tells you someone is still trying to protect their millions.

When the world knows what these monsters have been doing to children all your filming will lead us to the crime scenes and that terrifies them ! , thank you for being brave enough to do it .

This is clearly not abandoned. The gravel road was very well maintained and freshly raked. Obviously nobody lives there but somebody is still taking care of this place. Believe you were breaking and entering.!

Does anyone marvel at how this is still standing after so many years, and we can hardly build anything that lasts 10 anymore without needing major work? Give it some thought. They’ve been dumbing us down for decades.

Dude, you guys have serious balls and went up and beyond the call of duty in trying to explore more of this mansion almost castle like structure. Climbing the blue wrought iron fence like that then hiding before you were seen takes the cake. I was on pins and needles from the suspense. Awesome video nonetheless and thanks for the upload. I went there in 1976 or 7 when Sotheby’s sold off the great collection. Hannah Rothschild married the Earl of Roseberry whose family later sold it off. The Labour Government of the time refused to accept the house and contents in lieu of death duties. Despite the current neglect the building looks sound. What a tragic waste though. Thanks for the tour.

Always amazed at how much wealth is left to rot in many of these historic mansions.. but the paintings and furnishings here appear to be in beautiful condition. Nice video!

A historic place like this will have under ground tunnels for staff and secret exits. I lived at a massive place like when I was 13 in Salisbury. My mum was a full time chef for the owner.

Seeing Mentmore Towers again brought back many happy memories as I used to stay at The Stable Yard B & B backing on to the grounds for 2 years back in the mid 80s. It was here that some of the Royal Mews carriages were stored back in WW2. Used to spend many a summer's evening walking around the grounds & enjoying the views. At the time the sunken Italian garden was still maintained & could still go in the house (mostly empty of artefacts) but still looked smart particularly when spruced up for the summer ball. They were always filming there, adverts like Timotei Shampoo, an American version of Florence Nightingale (played by Jaclyn Smith). The Earl of Rosebery's Derby winners Ocean Swell & Blue Peter are buried on the grass verge as indicated by the plaques. Several of the trees along the main drive had plaques indicating they were planted by Victorian & Edwardian royalty. At one time Mentmore, Waddesdon Manor & Halton Hall could all see each other across the Vale of Aylesbury.

The armoire and other furniture is gorgeous. I love antiques.

Cheers! I sure did enjoy this. My heart was pounding as much as yours probably was 😳 I have seen Mentmore Towers before, but seeing its crumbling state is very sad, and a crime IMHO. It must be looked after properly.

I see it was bought by property developer Simon Halabi in 1999, with the intention of converting it into a hotel. Apparently, the National Trust was approached at some point, to take it over, however, a settlement could not be reached. If the roof is not maintained, Mentmore Towers might become too big a job to save.

Brick pillars like that are often ventilation shafts for canals or tunnels beneath, especially where you can see there is a construction under the ground.

That pillar in the middle of the grass means there is tunnels running underneath.

I suspect terrible rituals were commited there by the Ashkenazi family in question. Even they cannot redide there any longer, hence abandonment.

Similar to Blenheim Palace with the front of the house centered by a large porch. Adjoining wings both ends with the 3/4 enclosed front parade ground, looking out over the extensive estate Park.

Dude! You were at the church walking through all those headstones at the cemetery!! Those could’ve had some cool history written on them and gave an idea of what years people were living and dying there

Its astounding that the Rothchild family would leave this to ruin. This is when too much money is a sad story. All the ways this property could have been useful and the belongings in a museum. Such a shame.

Looks like there are fairly fresh tire tracks in the main driveway. Ya’ll a brave to enter. I could see myself riding my horse all over the property having a blast. Could you imagine listening to horse and carriages coming up the drive. Super enchanting

My wife and were recently in the Netherlands and spent a day walk the Kings Palace grounds. It was under renovation so no way we could go inside but was amazing to see all the things on the trails and the beautiful Palace it was my first time seeing as living in Australia and Asia we don't have these places.

I understand it’s private property but what a shame these amazing places are completely decaying and they won’t let youtubers that appreciate architecture or even film them.

Blue Peter was a child show from 1958. Weird sign at a Rothschild mansion. They do love kids tho.

A property like this- there’s no way in hell they don’t have trail cameras attached to some of those trees you were walking past. There were certainly more cameras present than you spotted.

I won’t name this location because I grew up in a small village not far from here. I use to play golf next door to this amazing place. The mansion always fascinated me as a boy. In recent years, it’s belonged to a secret society, although I’m not sure if they still own it. Excellent audit guy’s.

Letting that beautiful bit of architecture crumble is just criminal… the grounds are gorgeous. Would make a fabulous B&B, wedding venue, etc.

Abandoned mansions don't have current security and well kept grounds...This is actually TRESPASSING! Im actually surprised you got as far as you did. Usually, caretakers or house mngrs, live on the grounds, when the owners are away at thier primary house.I would NOT want to be on those grounds at night!!!

Sad to see places like this decaying. Good or bad its still history and should be preserved. Theres been a few places purchased and a you tube channel started to show the renovation/preservation process and a large portion of the money used was from money the channel provided. It would be awesome to see more places rescued.

It would be great to see this old mansion restored and opened up as a museum so that everyone could see its grandeur.

That small room with the diminutive fireplace beside the grand room with the big one, and whose window overlooked the entrance gate was probably there for the servants. Thank you for angling up to show us details and ornate decorations along the way... I really enjoy your videos. I think it will help to be speaking no louder than is needed to be heard, and you are well heard on camera, even when speaking softly. I think you will be surprised to see how far and loudly voices can carry, especially among those walls and channeling entryways. I just don't want you to be grabbed up and cause the explore to end, as exciting as it may seem to be caught. I am glad you were able to go there and hoping for many more in future

It is impressive how well the grounds are taken care of.

cool find, would like to see more of it. It seemed as if they were slowly letting the place rot, until it fell down on it's own. But there was definitely a presence there keeping an eye on the place or grounds. It makes sense in this day and age that the up keep must be enormous. We can see that the palace had been modernized probably over and over again. That is a grand old building. It's too bad it is not being used and cherished.

What a place! It's obvious they still do a bit of upkeep, the landscaping and security (probably the gardener wearing more than one hat!) One wonders why they let such a beautiful place slowly succumb to rot and ruin? It took a lot of savvy to see those rooms inside, they were very cool. Especially the art work and mirrors. Mad amounts of money have been dumped into this place, the furnishings fit for royalty! I have to say well done getting through those small areas underneath, I'm claustrophobic and have seen far too many vampire movies, where they sleep in the cellar during the daylight hours, so crawling underneath there would have been a hard no for me! Then all I could think of was those pipes and cables running throughout and how much it would stink to have to plumb and upgrade the wiring! I mean someone had to do that already! Imagine have the fortitude to complete a job like that, mad respect to whoever got the jobs done! What an awesome home, thanks for taking us along :)!
