Looks like she became disabled and could no longer manage the stairs. Explains the lack of clothes upstairs and why it was tidier up there. Hence why the sofa in the makeshift kitchen is so dirty, I expect she slept on it. I think she lived in those first few rooms for probably quite a few years. Probably died there too. I've seen this before, no family to look after her, husband probably died a few decades earlier. The garage showed a very organised mind. The two sides of possible OCD, organised but unable to throw anything away.

I felt very emotional looking through this lovely little home. All those keepsakes and memories, a lifetime of them, now just left to gather dust, so sad isn't it. Horses were their lives, they adored them, they didnt have children but possibly had a family members children over to stay occasionally. They had dog kennels and an aviary but loved all animals and possibly preferred spending time with them to socialising with people. Colin built all those outhouses himself and was a great little handyman who could do anything. They loved their garden but got too old to maintain it eventually. Barbara passed away first, Colin then carried on without her but like many elderly men after a long marriage, he missed her very much and passed away from a broken heart a couple of years later. I hope they are both together again wherever they are, bless them 🙏 ❤ Thanks for the video, loved it 😊

@@lesleybissmire8297 Lesley, it's pretty obvious this was a happy home at one time. Unfortunately, someone has been in there going through all their stuff. This family loved animals and if you take away all the things thrown all over, it would have been an interesting place to live. Everything has an energy... The energy here is that the people who lived here lead a full life, collected things they loved and enjoyed everything in their home. It must have been a fantastic place in it's day.

@deborahtruthseeker112
@deborahtruthseeker112 Год назад
@@gabrieleurban90 Well, perhaps you could be correct. Hoarders collect things in excess too, I guess. But I knew an actual hoarder that collected disposable items, such as empty food packaging, empty cans ( not recyclables) empty food containers ( not Tupperware, or anything of substance) empty cardboard boxes, dirty cat litter, etc. That woman was not right upstairs anyway, but that really took the cake, if you know what I mean. So when I think of hoarders, I compare them with her, and figure that at least most hoarders collect things of substance, and value, unlike her. She kept re-using dirty cat litter, just by rinsing it, and that surely did not work. I told her it cannot be cleaned, and re-used. Poor cats!!! That lady made me sick, and so did her physical appearance. Yuck!!!

A couple of things I can tell you: The big poster behind you at 28:41+ of a white horse with a blue background was very popular in the states in the late 70's, early 80's. I know because I had one. :) Also, the sugar is probably in that fridge to keep out bugs which can't get past the door seal. Old, defunct fridges make great water proof/bug proof storage. My dad had one in his shop for welding rod and the like. Also, I didn't think it looked as dusty/cob webby as most of your abandoned homes. I enjoy your channel.

What an absolute time capsule, loved every minute of it. The picture of the lady on the stairs was very common in the 70s. That workshop with the car in it was so organised, whoever lived there had pride in there home. Such a shame to see it left to fall apart. That car was from about 2000. ❤

Definitely a really cool place. You could see in the attic some burnt timbers, (maybe that's why they left). A strange but awesome explore. Another great adventure, thanks. Take care..stay safe..love you all.

Loved following you along on this explore!! My kind of place, empty it out, rehab it and I'll fill it with my stuff. I'd be drooling over all the old tools. Doesn't seem these folks were far off from being hoarders but then they did have a lot of room to fill and not much for leaving any open space on the walls.

Loving this house, feeling such an affinity with it...very eclectic; would love to have experienced it before the decay started taking over.

Enjoyed this video. I think the couple lived their entire lives here. In the home I recognized the brass that you mentioned hanging close to ceiling were buckles. They were made to hang on a saddle. They might have been a prize sort of like a trophy. You were too quick but looked like a lot had horses on them. Quite a collection and a keeper.

The National Trust should buy and take over these seemingly abandoned homes and preserve them as genuine ‘Time Capsules’ of how people of a certain generation lived - The print of the attractive young lady you admired was in almost every house in the 1960’s in the UK, USA, AUSTRALIA and most of EUROPE. ❤️🐨🇦🇺

sometimes folk dont have family to sort things out, they just get old and cant cope so i reckon this poor person was taken into care its such a shame a lifetime in that house for strangers to rifle through personal effects so sad.

As much as i like your vids i always get this sense of sadness about the past lives lived in these houses? What did they do, what were they like, did they have a tough life? Just kinda sad they're not around anymore.
