Hi Prospector Dean here..thx for posting! The mines in this wash/gulch were mined primarily for Tungsten, including the actual Boriana Mine.

Russ, I enjoy your daily trips into the desert and around the west. You’re the best. At my age I don’t think I will ever get to that part of the country. I live in the mountains of WV. All the parks are locked down and out of state visitors are discouraged at the borders. You would love it here in the Spring, Summer and Fall. I enjoy your videos and photography. This may be the last time people will travel around like this. Your footages will probably be saved to the library of Congress for future generations. Way to go. Stay safe and happy. We will do the same here. Bless you, our country and our fellow men, women and children here and around the world.

We have car to car radios in our sxs’s so we spread out pretty good so no dust , we ran from kingman to wikieup and went thru/past the borriana mine ,went thru a ranch with some nice vintage cars n trucks , I love riding out in the az des. Az peace trail 700+ miles we did in 5 days

You missed it , that was A mine , but it was NOT the Boriana Mine . You should have gone another 5 1/2 miles farther up the road .

At 5:05 those bright pink flowers are Prickly Pear. Wait till the fruit turns dark red, the are good for jams-candy - etc.

Good morning good afternoon thank you Russ I am quarantine like everybody else but I'm quarantine in the city of San Bernardino I don't dare step outside I haven't been out of my house and about 18 months because of my health disabled now even worse don't even go outside but I love watching you out on the road all these flowers and the Beautiful ride today on Dusty nugget there's a treat thank you so much it's nice to see the outdoors van belt was nice but this ride is awesome but country hasn't changed and just a people and a viruses and it thank you so much this makes me feel so much at ease with the world you stay safe and keep those videos coming if you can these are unbelievable alright be safe stay cool next time

The mine in the distance beyond the abandoned mine shaft is active again. If you would have gone a few mile further you would have found a really cool and big abandoned mine.

Ahhhhhh...this sure takes me back! Grew up in Phoenix (before it was ruined)--lived at the "edge of the neighborhoods", of course town goes a LOT further out there now. High School in Wickenburg, early 60's. I really miss the desert -- looked a lot like this! Thanks for taking us along with ya!

p.s. It was not a hawk, it was a buzzard. When it looks like a "V" it's a buzzard--hawk's are more flat winged.

This was a terrific video, but it really made me home sick. I used to live in Prescott near Thumb Butte and I spent lots of time with friends discovering old mines and claims from bygone days. Thank you, thank you!

Nice Desert cruise. It reminds me of my younger days. This gives me the off-road itch something fierce. We used to run the trails and washes and hit those service roads pretty hard. The dunes were the best. It makes me a little sad, but it's better for me to do what I'm doing now. It wouldn't hurt to rent a side by side occasionally though. Thanks for posting. Safe travels.

the boriana mine is another 10 miles up the road, you should go there, well worth it. been there many times, the road gets rougher unless they've fixed it, thanks for the trip, didn't make it to AZ. this year. P.S. IT WAS A BUZZARD. The road goes over the mountain to Kingman,,, maybe you know. again thanks.

I live down by the land of swamp buggies. nice and slow and way out in the middle on no place. I used to trail ride dirt bike out that way. Be shaking the dust out for days, no way no more.

Love to see the plant life in the desert. The cactus withe pink/red flowers is the beavertail cactus, or opuntia basilaris. The beautiful masses of yellow flowers are I think, brittlebush. The enormous saguaro that look as if it is hugging itself is probably a centenarian; according to the Saguaro National )ark Service, they can live 150 - 175 years. Thanks for the great video

Thanks for all the Senic tours. I have spent the last 13 years in AZ for the winters. This years only 3 weeks. We had to sell our fifth wheel due to health problems. You go all the places I always went and where I wanted to go. I never had a 4wheeler so I’m really enjoying all you do. Thanks so much. Love the van, great job. I’m very impressed. I don't know if this mine was a mill site for the Boriana Mine Complex, but the main mine is about another 5 miles up that road. They primarily mined tungsten with some gold, silver, and copper coming out as well.

I live in the area and have been up to, and past the Boriana Mine many times, over the years. On the way up there, the Antler mine is just off to the left, on the lower part. Farther up, and off to the right is the Copper World mine. These two are interesting, too.

What a great road trip. Thanks for sharing. We will be in Northern Arizona later this year and hope to enjoy some of this incredible scenery. An excellent way for a relaxing day out within natures best. I just hope the poster here keeps a good supply of water, gas, tools and a couple tires with him. We will be prepared when we head out to the desert.
