Abandoned Pathmark in Fair Lawn, NJ

This Pathmark closed down in the fall of 2015. The entire area was fenced off. I didn’t take the chance to jump over the fence and go inside the building cause I was by myself and it would have looked suspicious considering it was on a main road with more traffic going by. There is still a plan to make a shopping center here with a ShopRite and 13 other stores but there is no set date on completion of the shopping center.

This place is not abandoned. It is a construction site. It was in this condition because site was in planning stages, but it has an owner.

Either way it's still abandoned, I don't know what you're talking about lol. I checked last time and most of the building is gone now, they are planning to put a ShopRite here. It will most likely be complete in 2023

It's clear what I'm talking about. You start telling people that it's abandoned and goof balls come breaking in, for Urbex or to destroy the property. You are welcomed to make your video, but don't give the police more trouble to deal with. It will be a Shoprite Distribution Center.

@@rnunez1339 You made up a good point and thanks for that. Most of the structure of the building is gone now, just metal bars left so that's good they started working on it

@@chattypattysplace Oh okay, I don't know why they are having 2 ShopRite locations in Fair Lawn. I haven't been to this one since June 2021 when I did a revisit of this place, I'm pretty sure there have been some significant changes and they might have demolished the old Pathmark building

Wow, I never knew Pathmark were open that late. Vandals love to destroy abandoned property, it is quite sad to see

Yes! I remembered my father getting off from work. He would go straight there from a payday night. Good memories.

HI great video that looked liked a super path-mark store it was a very high volume with customers . they are Receiving bay doors for trailers to be unloaded all departments shipments and all vendors the only shipping was empty pallets card board bales empty totes empty bread trays back to the path -mark grocery ware house .

It was actually a super center Pathmark, you’re right. If you see the black store sign, you can make out the lettering on there.

@@TimurD1905 path- mark used to have very good competing sale before they merged with A&P a long time ago . I know I work for shop -rite .

@@barrylonyai1530 I used to work for ShopRite too, 2005-2017 at Morris Plains/Livingston/Cedar Knolls. The old school ShopRites to me are better than the new ones, easier to find product and just the nostalgic feel of it. The Morris Plains one closed down in 2013 and that was an old one. I miss working there

When I was in hawthorne the town right next to it before I moved. I remember back in 2015 before the bankruptcy there use to be 3 stores on the left side of Pathmark (a cleaners, and a dollar store) before they closed those after pathmark was closed and demolished the 3 stores next to pathmark because I remember going with my mother there at the dollar store before they fenced off the area.

Wow I didn't know that there were two businesses next to Pathmark there, now the Pathmark is being converted into a new ShopRite. I might film the 2nd revisit of this place tomorrow just to check if there was any updates to the area

You got some beautiful images here! This place was pretty amazing, especially against that clear blue sky with broken clouds and the trees in fall colors. It was a real experience seeing this. I had never heard of Pathmark (or Shop-Rite ha) and I'll do some research now.

Yeah, I used go to Pathmark several times with my mom. They had relatively good prices like ShopRite for grocery shopping. Sad to see a store close down like this, especially when you had the memories in the past.

I worked for pathmark for 7 years as an eml.oyed we knew the company would be in trouble as soon as it went to the investors

Didn't A&P own Pathmark before? There is only one Pathmark store and they re opened in Brooklyn, NY

@@TimurD1905 Yep, A&P owned Pathmark for awhile. Pathmark started with employs that left ShopRite in the 1960's.x

I remember being a kid shopping at Pathmark. I heard stories of how dirty the stores were. I remember that feeling.

@@fatihazair4823 Well, Pathmark went bankrupt in 2015 and a lot of retailers went bankrupt this year mostly cause of the pandemic and financial performance. Sad but true, it’s not how it used to be back in the day
