Exploring Abandoned locations is serious and extremely dangerous. I cannot recommend entering any of these properties. Trespassing is a crime that can result in fines and/or jail time depending on the location. If you choose to do this... Don't name it after me.

With proper management a few years back, this never would have happened.

My husband and I had our wedding reception here on Aug 18, 2012. It was once a stunning place and I have pictures to prove the beauty.

I've seen pictures of how beautiful it used to be. It's crazy how nature can take over so quickly.

This is so sad this was left to happen. This is part of Philipsburg’s history and should’ve been protected. I hope someone saves it. Too many buildings with history being tore down 😢

Thank you. I know, I really wish I knew about it. I did recently do the junior high school that they are tearing down and a factory last week. They will be out in the next couple of weeks.

That’s awesome my wife went to that school but they shut it down the year I was supposed to go and I’ve always herd story’s from her and my brother that’s it’s very creepy! I cannot wait for those video’s to drop I’ll be subbing and hitting the bell to let me know when they are posted!

Thank you! Definitely be May after they begin demolition. If I drop it now they will have trouble with kids going in from seeing my video. They already have that problem as it is. It's definitely dangerous in there.

Hey. Great story and shots but could have been cut in half time wise. Lots of repeat shots. Enjoyable however, for those who experienced its revival before its final abandonment. Looks like a job for Omni. They took on Bedford Springs and revived it back to life. Who knows what awaits this 101 year old. Hope it’s something grand once more.

This is what happens when you leave a building unoccupied and just walk away from it and the waterlines freeze and break and cause all the damage you see . 😞

I can't wait to watch the junior high video! I was the last generation in that junior high. It was my favorite school. So much history and also very close to the "mud church" and cemetery.

This is my neighborhood, I pass here every day. I’m angry and sad that the Philips has come to this. Growing up, it was the nursing home with Family Planning offices on the top floors. Then later, it became the Philips Hotel. I was finally excited to have an area in my own backyard I could walk to and grab a decent meal and a glass of wine. That was short lived. The owners, Faith and Tony announced that they were closing the restaurant/bar and it was over. From what I remember the building had went through a ton of water damage when the owners neglected to weatherize the building. All of this damage you see in this video occurred during the last ten years due to that water damage and neglect. I really hope the current owner finally starts making way with this building. We are the townies who were raised here and remember these amazing, historical buildings before they started dilapidating. It’s sad that it’s gotten this far and one of our most historical buildings will probably require demolition because it’s been neglected far too long. Living in a historical house I can say that owning one requires constant and frequent upkeep. One issue can snowball and turn into many. I’m angry because some of the owners of these run down buildings probably bit off more than they can chew and can not complete any work in a timely manner. These neglected buildings make the town (and our neighborhoods) look bad. It also brings down the value of our homes and no one seems to care enough.

What an amazing video. Observing you going up the stairway to the hotel rooms and again going down the hallway to the rooms I observed several orbs making me think this may have at one time been a retirement home for the elderly. Then more orbs appeared as you were going down the stairs into the offices. So many beautiful fixtures just left behind to rust and ruin. The beautiful hanging lights, the gorgeous sconces, pieces of furniture some already decayed, some just waiting for their own time to happen. It so saddens me that our history is slowly deteriorating not only physically through decay, vandalism, fires, rot, but emotionally in the minds of so many of the younger generations. They are not interested in old family photos, antique pieces of furniture, etc. This is so obvious from all of the abandoned places we see with so many old, rare, personal items left to go back to Mother Earth, be destroyed, etc. Whereas, for the much older generations would mean everything to go in, pack up and preserve. But, then you ask yourselves, "Preserve for who"?? Noone seems to be interested. Noone seems to care. Such a travesty the way society has changed from 40-80 yrs ago. Thank you for sharing this iconic piece of history. I like you, enjoy viewing (if I was able Id go out and explore) these beautiful pieces of our past. It's so unfortunate that most will be gone in the next 10 to 20 years. If not earlier. Because noone really cares abkut not only persevering, but to save their history, that can never be replaced.

My barber set up her new shop right across the street. She's not old enough to remember the mystique it had even in the early-mid 2000's. She just sees a shell of a building, not the glamour it had years ago. Kind of sad...both seeing it this way, and knowing it is never going to return to it's former glory.

@@JOEYUNDERGROUND in the same town, a few blocks away, the abandoned junior high is going to be torn down. The only addition they are hoping to save is the gymnasium as it's a newer built piece. But the school...vandalized, destroyed. Was thought to be turned into a museum...only those plans disappeared, much like a lot of the building.

@@dwp139 I filmed the junior high 2 weeks ago. I filmed the old navasky clothing building last week as well. I'm going to release those videos when they begin demolition. It'll save the town from all of the kids seeing my video and going there. It's pretty rough inside and the floors are solid sheets of ice.

Wow. I grew up in Philipsburg and going to the Philips Hotel. My great grandmother lived here when it was a nursing home and we’d go visit and then it turned back into a hotel and we’d go for dinner, parties, etc. My Aunt and Uncle got married in 2012 and all the guests stayed here and 2 guest got a little too drunk and got stuck in that dumb waiter and the fire department had to come get them out lol So crazy how much it’s changed that quickly and kinda sad 😔
