Abandoned Retro Video Rental Store (Everything Inside) 

This is crazy that it's still there..my kid would go nutts in that store. He appreciates retro stuff.

How come if the law finds a neighborhood thats ruined they'll find it disturbing but not a ruined store? Get a some boxes and come back to take home 100s of video games and DVDs. Animals don't want this here so they can eat metal from DVD's and plastic as it'd hurt them while these places while also violate their ability to live in this place for the open woods

Best bets to find physical media at a store is at a flea market, record store, or a dollar store. But even then, they’re just there to collect dust as I almost never see anyone buy physical media ever.

foodispizza It used to be a thriving place, but then in the late 2000's, closed. The place has been abandoned for a couple years now. You get pushed back into the 90's when you are in this place. So cool!

I'm wondering if the owner passed away and either didn't have children or the children simply didn't want the responsibility of owning the store... So they pretty much just abandoned it.. if it's a abandoned location the city can basically become the property owner ...after a certain amount of time.. most cities will claim intimate domain and usually file paperwork after about a year.. but it looks like that hasn't happened with this particular building maybe the city thought this person was still alive or family members had taken over the business.. and simply didn't check.. incredible find.. it's almost like a time capsule

Thank You FINALLY someone who agrees with me that taking abandoned merchandise from an abandoned building is NOT stealing. There was another exploration video on another abandoned video store with all it's merch left behind and the dude filming was like "yeah I'll film and touch stuff but not take anything because that's stealing" and it seriously irritated me because if someone leaves it behind it ain't theft in my mind. I was also thinking that the dude in this other video was already likely trespassing to begin with and all of a sudden his moral compass goes off at 'I can't steal'...give me a break. Anyways, I agree with your comment.

The vibe I got from the look of the place is that the owner is a hoarder. While the VHS's, DVD's, and video games still have value, the old computers and accessories as well as the posters and cardboard pieces are totally worthless. You might have some luck selling those, but honestly who wants a giant cardboard of Vin Diesel's "XXX" or "Down Periscope" taking up space in their house? A lot of that stuff has clearly been outdated for years, long before that place closed down. What video rental place still rented out N64, SNES and Genesis games six years ago when this place was allegedly closed? While that generation of games is now popular again, six years ago you might as well have still been renting out Laserdiscs and Betamax tapes. Don't get me wrong, I do think this place is cool, but the owner clearly has trouble throwing stuff away!

SNES games in 2010 were pretty valued but if he was trying to rent that stuff out good luck. However he might have been a little trade store as well which can get out of hand if you don't limit what you buy. Either that or he never could get rid of it 20 years prior and wanted to get his money back. At one point I would say to a collector "I'll take $20 for all those computer now get it out of here." Sell the VHS I would take $0.50 a video or $2 for 5. When all the good stuff was gone I would cut it in half. After a while I would say "How much you got? Ok take it all." The posters I would sell for $0.25 each or 5 for $1 as well then if they don't sell after a week $0.05 each or how much ya got. Depending on how much he cares I would look into the gaming stuff. The cardboard cut outs I would take offers but chances are I would trash it. Heck give me a week and that place would be cleaned out.

Fuck that shit, I'd ask the owner if I could have every damn thing that was inside of the store and make them one hell of a good profit for their years of serving the community, +Free4All.

It's up for grabs if it's just sitting there. When I explore abandon places like this or houses and I find things like books or DVD collections in good shape that I'll enjoy I take them because nobody cares for those items anymore and they'd rot otherwise.

Jiheem Vohor Yeah... like $80, lol. Check Craigslist, there's always at least a few people trying to offload busted-up arcade cabinets. It's difficult to get parts to replace and you need to know what you're doing with them to get them running again if they're not in good shape.

Matthew Sanges arcade parts aren’t hard to find at all online arcade stores or people like bob Roberts have millions of arcade parts available. But yes some cabinets are beaten up but THEY ARE fixable you don’t need that much experience to get those treasures running again.

The cases are most likely empty.
