Injured wildlife will always be extremely thirsty. Carry with you water, cheap leather gloves, and packets of sugar(you would get with ur coffee, you make sugar water). But as sad as it might look, Try just a little if you can.

I am close to tears to see such decaying beauty. The craftmanship and skills when these buildings were erected, the love when kitting out the rooms. A true glimpse into a world long gone. And we can see that happiness can't be bought. Money goes from one place to another. Due to misfortune, betrayals, crime, stupidity and so on. The best vlog I have ever seen about abandoned mansions, so gentle and wise, well spoken and intelligent. And no blaring background music, thanks for that. You deserve an award for this true masterpiece. The first villa with the hanging greenery is my favour. Quite funny that I've found out that my great grandmother was obviously Italian with the surname "Di Parma". I always dream about to own somewhere a mansion or palazzo in Italy, Parma region LOL. However, regarding your animal rescues - many thanks for looking after our little furry or feathery friends. I would recommend to have of course a first aid kit, tissues, perhaps those face/soap towels (like mini hand towels), a few pouches of cat food/beef) which are easy to transport and good nutrition also for meat eating birds (swallows, blackbirds, birds of prey),, cats or dogs, hedgehogs etc., a little fork (to mash the food) and a few small plastic dishes (use it as a bed for little hurt animals or feeding), sure you will have mineral water with you. And then of course a vet on speed dial.

Aww bless you for helping the animals. My tip is research vets, rescue centres etc especially specific to species such as birds, stray dogs, cats etc. in the area before you start your journey . Keep a note of phone numbers. Also Facebook groups usually have pages specific to areas. 🐦

It makes me sad to watch these videos of abandoned homes. You are so right, everything is transient. When my mom said she didn’t care about her prized possessions any more, I knew she was not going to be with us much longer. She passed 2 months later. RIP mom.

This BEAUTIFUL MANSION STILL HAS SOME BEAUTIFUL AND EXPENSIVE ITEMS. That huge wall mirror and the furniture all appear to be antiques that can be restored if they are not rotted inside. It is such a beautiful home.

Your compassion towards animals warms my heart. Maybe you could reach out to a wildlife rehabilitator and see if they have any suggestions on something you could do when you find animals in need. It seems like you did everything you could for that bird, and it already seemed to be in better shape than when you found it. Cat/dog shelter worker here, I'd say if you have the space to keep an extra bowl or two around or even the ability to cut up a water bottle, that could help a cat or dog in need. Not sure what sort of food you guys keep on hand, but stuff like lunch meat (plain stuff like chicken, turkey, etc.) is typically a pretty good bet. Dogs can eat a lot more things than the carnivorous feline friends. Cats need meat. A quick test for dehydration on cats/dogs (not sure about other animals) pinch a bit of their skin and if it bounces back quick they are likely well hydrated. If it stays up for longer, they need some water. If you're really committed you could keep some syringes on hand (no needle necessary, as I'm sure that would raise some eyebrows travelling), but that can help you get some water down a critter in need. Man that second villa must’ve been amazing in its day. But living in such financial pressures must’ve been crushing. All that splendor wouldn’t be worth it, not for me. Good job on reviving the bird, but leave the poor bat alone! Poor lonely guy. Great job. Tobi’s photos are gorgeous as always. We’ll miss the frequent posts this summer. But I’ll be looking forward to curling up next winter to all kinds of cool new content.

We, too, noticed many debt notes scattered around the house and associated this with the financial collapse of the well-known entrepreneur's family. However, there is a further and earlier reason, an underlying reason that could explain the financial collapse. It is dark on 26 January 1977 when seven hooded men break into the villa, steal valuables and kidnap the owner, a well-known local businessman. They were the notorious Graziano Mesina gang, known as the 'anonymous Sardinian kidnappers', who carried out numerous extortionist kidnappings between the 1960s and the 1990s, mainly in Sardinia, including the famous one of Farouk Kassam. The businessman was released the following April following the payment of a ransom of 750 million lire. The huge sum, contained in two sacks, was entrusted to the kidnapped man's family's lawyers, who were in charge of mediating with the kidnappers.

Thanks for the back story. It explains it clearly. This info reinforces my opinion. That Italy is not somewhere where you should get rich, build a mansion and live there. No way. Far too dangerous. Is this why there’s so many abandoned mansions in Italy? Probably.

@@melindawakley7859 Italy is a safe country generally speaking, but there have been criminal realities dedicated to this kind of thing. One of these was the Messina gang that kidnapped rich people for ransom. Fortunately, we have a very efficient intelligence and police force that often found the victims and then dismantled that and other gangs. This is the specific reason for this abandonment, but the reality is as described by my friends Marco and Till. It is reverses of fortune or a sudden death that generate the abandonment

Beautiful as always. I know exactly where this is and can also say the roof collapsed in January of last year. It has the oldest and probably best example of a Neapolitan-style polycentric entrance hall, that was multistory to compensate for the difference in grade between the different access-points of the palazzo.

Next to blog old posts, I could never find anything. I had relatives in that city, and just happen to know of it because the thoroughfare would bring us by it going in, then out of the city. I do know that only a portion of the original seven heirs the property was split between, actually took up the diligence and accepted the terms of their inheritance of the property, and that the architecture featured (such as the polycentric arched “androne”) was heavily Neapolitan because the family that had it built came there from Naples I think in the 1730s-1740s.

My grandparents immigrated from Italy In the 1930s and my dad was first generation born in America. I would love ❤️ so much to go see Italy one day. I’m new to the channel and it’s amazing to see the beautiful homes just abandoned. I can’t imagine just walking away from such stunning properties and letting them rot to time and squatters.

@@bwturbex the first mansion was my favourite, it looks like something out of a fairytale. It has a very mysterious vibe. The other mansion hidden in the massive overgrowth was also epic, I love the big pool/dam outside it. The room with the paint and art was also very cool 😎 I have been following your channel for a long time, and your style and vibe really inspires me to evolve my urbex channel. I'm touched by everything that is left behind ,I live in A1 bed flat with my son ,overcrowded he sleeps on the floor,it just bteaks my heart that I have NOTHINK not even carpets, and all the beautifull stuff left behind I WOUID love to live in 1 of the homes, so beautifull and LOVELEY furniture, o just dream that q day I get a nice home, god bless you all 🙏❤️

So drawn in this type of contents. How thrilling and interesting to see and explore an ancient places like this. To discover the remnants and the stories in the past, such an astoninshing experience. I live in Canada and have always loved exploring abandoned buildings. A few years ago out in the countryside where I live I explored a very old farmhouse in the woods. From the moment I gained entry it seemed creepy. It was obvious that a very large man was the last tenant. Huge boots on the floor, big coats and jackets hanging in the vestibule and the dining table and the coffee table were covered with Past Due bills and notices from collection agencies and the government. Upstairs there was a room with a door that once had been locked but with the damp and the winters that had passed, it had warped open. I squeezed into a small room that had a table and a sewing machine and... all the walls were covered with pictures of little girls in underwear or almost naked. Probably from department store catalogues of the 1970's or holiday vacation brochures. I felt sick and left. A year later my neighbour told me that there had been a family there, third generation of farmers. Apparently one day the wife and two little daughters abruptly left and left the province, the police made several visits and after a few months, the husband, a huge man, disappeared suddenly. And the house has sat empty since then.

No! Are you serious? That's a terrifying story, my friend! Wow I wonder if the mother and two daughters left because they found out about his room, or found out that he had been molesting the daughters, or if he had killed them. Whenever someone "moves away all of a sudden without any notice" I always wonder if they're buried in the cellar or something. Did you tell the police about what you found?

@@kmdn1 This is a small community of farmers and fishermen and I'm not from here. I mentioned what I had found to my neighbour who told me that he 'knew nothing about it' but another neighbour said that the man's wife had involved the police. The police here is the RCMP - the Canadian Mounties - and they are generally utterly incompetent and extremely lazy. So telling them about what I found would have been pointless. I suspect that the woman left him because he had done something to the daughters. Other neighbours said he moved away because he was bankrupt. Doesn't seem plausible. I remember when I lived in Mexico City a colleague from a town in Veracruz told me that back in the 70's the local priest was molesting boys and one day he... disappeared. When my friend's father was dying of cancer some years back he told him that the men in the town had gone to the church, taken the priest out into the Gulf on a fishing boat, tied an old outboard engine around his legs and had thrown him overboard.

I think that bird was a Nightjar, regard the feathers covering alot of the upper beak, a rare find even if just sighted. Thank you for caring about small creatures on your travels! Joan in Canada

You asked what kind of tips we could give to animals that are in dire situations. What you gave the Martin bird is what to should give to all animals (and humans) that are in dire situations which is, love and caring, positive words. You have absolutely no idea how that affects things. Even water, plants and anything that has energy. Afterall, EVERYTHING is made from energy and love is what feeds it.

Very good presentation and photography. Many urban exploration sites neglect to give a 'time of the last occupancy, and I was guessing the 1980s. To see that book copywritten in 2003 surprised me! How quickly nature takes over.

Every time I am amazed at how your skills just keep improving. This was a true gem of great quality, and a pleasure to watch. The first palazzo was architecturally sublime, made more so by the work of Nature’s hand…festooning it with trailing vines. All this juxtaposed with the paraphernalia of drug taking and modern problems. The little bird was beautiful, and I love that you cared for it and gave it comfort. If you carry a tube of glucose gel with you, it can help an animal fight shock by giving them a little bit. The Villa was once magnificent. One can almost hear the echoes of parties and laughter of former times. All that is left now are scattered remnants of the lives it sheltered. In the end…Mother Nature reaches out and takes it all back to Herself. Beautiful, thank you again.🖤🇨🇦

If you find injured animals..there are organisations that take care of their recovery..usually in larger towns and cities..humane intervention can mean the survival of the birds or animals...🦙

Very beautiful home , it’s sad to see the beautiful place got abandon, the second property look like the owner left everything behind, seem like they left in a rush, possibly something to do with tax and depth. Thank you for sharing , it’s a beautiful mansion and interesting design indeed.

And the photography is amazing. If I was younger I would love to do that stuff. I've turned friends on to your sites and everyone agrees that they're well thought out sites. I started with "Exploring with Josh" years ago. Back when he was pretty through but since his Nara Dreamland mission he's just gotten silly. Anyway thanks again and I can't wait for the new posts ... Amazing homes just left to rot, and the architect back then was beautiful,they knew how to build homes, now a days they just throw them together, and fall apart in no time, love the doors and frames so stunning.
