Safeway of Pueblo Colorado was opened 20 years ago they started out strong, and the funny thing is it closed 10 years ago, they had only been open 10 years, I have heard different versions why it had closed Shoplifting, lack of business, the could not keep up with other stores, maybe all of the above is true, Safeway is a pricey store, very overpriced, now maybe Walmart and other stores knocked them out, now it has been for sale for 10 years, and still sits abandoned, now Albertsons did buy out Safeway some years ago this store has been vandalized, hope you enjoy the video.

29th street Safeway opened in 1973 and closed in 2016 for low performance. In January of this year, Galloway n company llc will convert that location into indoor self storage place and my information from city planning n zoning appeal website.

Store still looks ok on the inside and on the outside .it could open up again if it gets the right owner for it.just give it some touch ups,some paint maybe even some work on the parking lot itself.now if one of the things that made it close is cause of high prices it's like I said people who don't have that kind of money and is trying to save some will go somewhere else for what they need and the store will lose business but if it's theft also that is really sad .but who really knows anything could had happened.

Not to judge but this part of Pueblo even 10 years had a homeless problem, I would believe that Shoplifting had key part but being expensive Safeway has always been expensive example 8 piece at Walmart $8.00 Safeway charges $15.99 for theirs I know stupid example but

@@Abandoned1673 yes it could be that to.could be several reasons that it closed but the power being on for 10 years after it close is something I'm just amazed no one haven't bought it whatsoever.perhaps it cost a little too much or it's not big enough.

@@Abandoned1673 yes I guess so perhaps that is the reason why.people vandalizing and perhaps theft had chased away anyone wanting the place.ill say someone has a lot of money to pay that electric bill for all of those years after it was abandoned.
