Thank you guys for your sensitivity and for your ability to pick out the most interesting aspects of a time-capsule. I have seen this house before but you gave it a whole new dimension and made it very touching and moving. It is so sad that our lives are a collection of things, and if there's no-one there who cares after we leave, it all just lies scattered until it rots.
Great exploration. Such a shame though, all the photos, slides of families travels and memories just laying about and rotting away, unwanted or cared about. Makes one wonder about their lives remembrances; as to what will happen when gone. Thanks for the respect again for the properties, so few exhibit. Stay well, Cheers 👍
Looks like a regimental tie on the floor beside the bookcase, with books by the late Richard Holmes, Peter De la Billie, and a novel about the Mau Mau uprising in Kenya.....you are looking at ex military who served in Kenya, further evidenced by the trunk/suitcase.
Looks like they were into their animals. You mentioned tack room so maybe the rosettes were for horse related. Lots of memories left behind. Thanks for sharing xxxx
I never knew there were so many houses. with everything left in them. You would think looters would Take about everything and vandalize the place.I love your videos ,take care.👍❤️🇺🇸
Amazing explore.. so much just left.. how long abandoned, is it known? Cool old bath tub.. food can item purchased a couple of years before 2010 perhaps so at least abandoned 11 years.., wonderful slides.. enjoy average home abandonments just as much as expensive homes…. Great wooden floors….home emitted love when occupied. Thanks for being respectful to the people by honoring their items. Good explore.
I love your channel. I wish you could give us some information on what happened. It so hard to wrap my mind around how the place is left as if they were abducted by aliens. Not this place but many. How does this actually happen. It’s sad and exciting at the same time. Thank you mate from the states.
Amazing discovery.......pretty much undisturbed example of natural decay.....appreciate your not disturbing anything as you document a person's life before it vanishes .......thanks a mil!
Nice. Lovely old house. Too bad it's been left to rot. Saw a few nasty cracks in that one room. A real shame. Bet it was nice in its day. Beatrix Potter books, they would be worth a fortune. Let us hope the.g. stay there. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Fascinating, but very sad. So many memories of a life lived that most likely will be forgotten. Go talk to your older friends and relations, their stories of the past should be saved.
What a nice video.Time Capsule Houses are my favorites.Im a collector of 1970s to 90d tabloids and magazines and memorabilia, and will be ordering some items for my collection later tomorrow evening
The little slides were viewed in a machine that was lighted,I have 1 my hubby had in the 1950's & took many slides of ITALY WHILE HE WAS STATIONED THERE.
Stunning & beautiful but, sad also. Kinda reminds me of those shows "life after people" on the sci-fy or history , channel i think. It also amazes me people just let things go & rot. Tons of homeless, people can barely afford rent, etc yet theres people who have property, houses, barns, etc. & just let it rot / decay, smh.
They don't 'let' it rot. Matters get out of control as you age. When you die with no relatives and/or intestate, the aftermath is that you have a collection of belongings in a house with no obvious owner.
18.27, Queen Mary Box, watch The Shawshank Redemption and it's the same box Andy buried the money in for Red to find under the oak tree. I need to get out a lot more.....
Love your videos me personally I don’t like the lead up to going in to the house I feel it spoils the excitement of what you’re going to find in the house Also don’t forget to look for makers-marks on some of the pottery or glassware you see Nice to know what antiques they may have Thanks Keep up the good work
seems like the occupier idnt stay there long at a time ,brand new white goods that look 2008 era and the soup tins like like 2008 too but tins from 70s 80s too, its weird
Great video as always loved it that little house would be great restored/done up along with the garden sorted out would be a great place very peaceful and relaxing good decent fresh air nice views nice open fireplaces you can't beat very rural living I'm from a farming background was an outdoorsy child from an extremely early age was always the first one up out of me and my much older far less independent lazy siblings nothings ever change with them I know exactly how nice nice peaceful and relaxing very rural living is i even find farming peaceful and relaxing despite farming being a seven days a week work life no set meal times etc but always loved keeping busy spending as much time in the great outdoors Anyway again loved the video that place could be made beautiful again Stay safe and well Godbless to you, myself and all the other good decent people continue enjoying your exploring making and sharing your videos
Shame it’s been left to rot..The shed with the small cages ..Rabbits not dogs ..People who show dogs treat them like children ,they have them indoors..and the one with the small box shapes in more than likely pigeons. They were clearly animal lovers.. Nice quiet spot 🥰
@@teamavk That's cool, I am from South Africa, so it fascinating to see pictures from Northern African Tribes that resemble our Southern African local tribes. 😀
Beautiful but very sad. Someone’s whole life story within those 4 walls. Begs the question what on earth happened to them & why it’s left to ravages of time. Thank you for being respectful to it. ATB Andy
@13:37 The Trains are of Indian Railways. @13:56 steam engine train from Darjeeling , a small city from Indian state of West Bengal. @15:58 those are incense sticks, also called Agarbatti again from India. @16:47 Indian Bamboo Flute .
Backyard breeders, chihuahuas in cage's, I hate those people they disgust me and cause a lot of misery. I wish some one had reported them to the RSPCA . I rescued a chihuahua from a backyard breeder they know nothing about genetics and inbreed the chihuahuas passing on many problems. My little girl Peggy Sue, died of an enlarged heart, caused by inbreeding. I held in my arms as she slipped into a coma and died. I thought my heart would break that night. After she passed . I wrapped her in her blanket and slept next to her one last night. Before she was cremated 💖💖
@@philiptownsend4026 a lot of old people tend to not being able to maintain the household in the final years, dating the site with one old food can isn't the most accurate either, sometimes I have tin cans in my cabinet that long passed their date.
no no no go on then look around for hours trust me i dont mind lol i love seeing every inch of these places its so amazing to see just whats left, its sad really that people find it and destroy it, they should be made to clean it up and fix it up i think
The Beatrix Potter books would not have been worth much at all. You called them "originals", but they weren't. They were reproductions, all from the same publisher, as evidenced by their size, color, binding and the same font. Also, they lacked the dustjackets. Most people don't realize that the book's jacket is about half (or more) of a book's value. The name on the suitcases was MacKay. Given that they were into showing dogs, it would be a simple matter to run down who those people were.
Love to know how old this house is? Did we all as children get the Collection of Peter Rabbit Beatrix Potter. Brings back childhood memories. Definitely a great Greeting of welcome. "the door is beckoning" "WELCOME". It has a mocrowave. 2010. 11 years perhaps. Empty?. So it looks like the owner, died. "I'm surprised some of these houses are still standing. National Geographic. Definitely male. Interested in Trains. Could be a recluse. Plus quite clever. Definitely not South African." nope not Kenya. Pity the books are left to rot. The Bertrix Potter at a guess 1966.
@Mona Torkia do you think the Micro is over 51 years old lollllllllllllll? Would the micro work for over 51 years. Micros today last for about 3 years. I think the microwave is perhaps newer than the 70s Mona. I feel for the Furniture living in that house. I think the Bertrix Potter children's books are worth more than the building.
@@shaundolphin dont overthink it. Others have been there (vandalized car) or they just wound it up - he didnt say that it is *still* ticking nor that they didnt wind it up...
Not suggesting it in regards to this video, but rather than just saying how sad it is that someones life just passed them by, people should consider that there is a possibility that some empty houses are the result of someone being sent to prison and any relatives wanting nothing to do with them or their belongings. When you see the way some folk lived in these places, especially the hoarders, I think one should keep an open mind.
I really enjoy your videos but I feel I have to comment on how you focus on a tub containing pens and say "they've been there for years " then walk past a radio that looks like it's from the 60's and a kettle that's not that old,my point is you don't build a picture of the possible story of the house, plus a wind up clock still ticking!
If an outside door is open please leave it. There could be wildlife or birds hiding and they need access. I’ve seen many videos of corpses of trapped animals.
Thre have been other explorers here recently, this is at least the 2nd time I've seen this video. Previous explorer actually mentioned the clock and tried to wind it.
The car seems a lot more modern than the house contents? Also in the shed that had fallen down there seemed to be a lot of folded metal cages. Very weird mixture of things. Those beatrix potter books need saving. Better someone takes them than they get exposed to the elements and ruined
The car is a Hyundai Amica S from 2000-2003. The cans having "best before" dates from 2010 tells me the place was most likely abandoned in the late 2000s, although I don't suppose it's too odd to give up on a cheap city car that's pushing a decade old.
This place is obviously abandoned and has been for quite some time. The books, you said "lets hope they stay there" will either rot, or someone seeing this vid will go and remove them. If they mean something to your friend and he enjoys that kind of thing, I see no reason at all why you shouldn't take them. This goes for anything else in any other property as long as you know it is and has been left there to rot and no one cares at all for the items. If they meant something to a family member or even a close friend, they wouldn't be there. I do not condone theft, I view thieves as bottom feeders, however, in this case I don't view it as theft. The home is left abandoned and even if there is an owner, they have left the place unsecured and wide open with little care about contents or the property in general. I have noticed in the past some property's (not on this site) that were claimed to be abandoned, I viewed as doubtful. Some of the homes seen as abandoned on U Tube were not abandoned, and the items in the home and property were owned by someone. Just because a property has not been visited or used in some time does not always mean it is abandoned. There are situations where a family member passes and the property owners are far away and don't put visiting the home on the top of the list of priorities. There are also properties that may be 2nd 3rd or maybe 10th property of the owners and they just never get there. There is a song by Joe Walsh titled "life's been good" where the lyrics say "I own a mansion forget the price.... ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice" This is more common now a days then ever before soooo, not all are abandoned. However, in this case, and most of the places you visit, are left to rot and fade into the earth... so taking an item or 2 and giving them a new lease on life so to speak, I don't view as theft, they are abandoned, belong to no-one, and should be treasured if one so desires. The only thing I would be concerned about LOL ...is that some items from these old decrepit places, may have a curse or something unknown attached to it... you might be bringing more then just the item home. lol!
