Exploring abandoned places is my hobby and finance it all out of my own pocket and the donations I get from the people who love watching the documentaries we make... A small donation would be greatly appreciated! ► / brosofdecay
Aime lived a very secluded life, a very contemplated life, and a very meditative one. This was his ideal life. In the year 1958 Mister Aime Gerblo divorced his former wife and wanted a new life. He decided that he wanted to live far away from civilization. He set out on a quest and build a tiny house on top of a mountain on the outskirts of a small picturesque French town. Mister Aime Gerblo lived here alone for over 5 decades, but he didn’t mind, he was happy with the way his life was and he enjoyed the time by himself a lot. He filled his days with creative work, he loved to paint, read and write. His life consisted of simplicity and self-sufficiency. After his passing in the year 2012, the house got abandoned for some time, it was too secluded for most people, but by surprise, after more than a year of abandonment, an Arabian Family bought it in the year 2014 and transformed it into their vacation home. There influence is to be seen all over the inside and outside of the house, But it didn’t last for long because only a year later they abandoned it already and never came back to this place. Perhaps the house will find a new lover, but most likely it will rest forever and commit to it’s marriage with Mother Nature.
Let’s explore this wonderful place today and relive the lives of the former occupants.

Am I the only one who just wants to go clean and repair EVERYTHING? Maybe I'm crazy, but every time I watch one of these videos, I seriously just want to repair the damage and clean the trash and polish the furniture. 😆

Hi. Thanks for this amazing video. I just wanted to mention this is not an Arabian house. The home owners were Persian (Iranian) and the interesting part is that family picture on the wall is not his family those are Queen (Farah Pahlavi) and prince (Reza Pahlavi) of Iran before revolution in 1979. Just the little girl was one owners family. Judging by little girl standing beside king of Iran's family, the home owner must have been someone very close to royal family, close friend, high level military man, or someone working in the government

Let me tell you why, they have to many money and to little respect for it, to lieve so many beautiful valuerable things behind just to decay or to the vandals, simply tells me that sometimes the wrong people has the money and the titles. Of course it must be a big adventure to travel the world seeking these abanded places, and not to forget for us who enjoy their explorings and knowledge while moving around. Often the heirs are figthing when the parents die and because of disagreements we all know how it ends, and that is bad behavior.

In this case I really think is because they are filthy rich and that precious furniture is worthless to them because they can buy new one . If that house belonged to my ancestors I would have emptied it taken all the furniture not because I like it but because it’s worth a lot of money .

The old man died and the home was abandoned. Perhaps he had no family. Then others moved in a few years later but only stayed one year, he said. I’m wondering if they were squatters. I bet the wildlife including snakes and insects might be a bit much since it’s so overgrown. Not many people want to actually do the work it would take to refresh the property. I guess I wonder why it hasn’t been sold by now and have a new story to tell.

Thank you so much for your beautiful commentary on this “tiny home”. It’s unfortunate that some people are disrespectful of others private dwellings. I always appreciate the up close explanations of the fascinating architecture, furniture, hidden rooms, clothing left behind and of course the ornately beautiful plates and many other matching or intriguing items that individuals choose to complete their household dish-ware. Your personal information is always quite respectful to each and every family; whether they where wealthy or everyday citizens who couldn’t afford to keep up with the payments anymore and had to leave their beloved family’s articles (which is totally inclusive of everything within each home that resembles any and all memories). I also appreciate the fact that you allow each person to share their own experience(s) and relate their own memories. Many blessings to you and your continued endeavors my friend. God bless you as you continue to travel around the countryside. May your safety always be of the highest priority and if you’re ever in a concerning situation, may there be someone who will ALWAYS be willing to reach out their hand to you as God has elected you and your team as “Guardians ” of these precious treasures.

What a lovely location you brought us to today, Leslie.. It's so peaceful : ) But as always, it's hard to see such beautiful pieces like these furnishings being left open to the elements - and vandals. Such waste is always sad for me. But thank you for showing us - BE healthy and stay safe! XX

How could the family just walk away and leave everything? It makes me wonder what happened? Was there a spiritual happening in the past? Very mysterious and wondering. Did you check out who might be the heirs that really own this home/land? I’m extremely curious about this story. It’s fantastic but the antiquities need to to be recovered and taken care of properly 😁😇

We have no idea what happened. Car crash? Some other terrible things g like a fire or plane crash or perhaps one of the people living there died and the rest of the family could t bear to go back. Lots of reasons. If I had a place like that and died it would probably go like that. I have no family apart from my children. They would t go back for a long time after. I’m all the have except each other.

Wondering too. What could have happened? The bed well spread, the chocolates, the washing/cleaning detergents. Plastic chairs just left outside. There must be a reason they left.

When you are young you do not understand life until you hit 50 years old and older , if you live that long no guarantees. How precious life really is beautiful but sad at the same time knowing when you are old your chances of dying are really good and we all will die someday. I guess this man at least had some peace living in this home for 50 years but we all will have to leave behind everything we own because this life and everything we have is temporary. Someday someone else will look at your home and mine just like these videos.

Can't help but wonder how they got all that big furniture in such small rooms? How did they get it up those tiny stairs? Just a thought.
@sharong8511

Probably brought the upstairs furniture pieces through the French windows on upper floor. Some furniture like large wardrobes can be taken apart and reassembled. Where there’s a will there’s a way.

With the massive size of the furniture in this tiny house with tiny rooms, i wonder if he and his former wife had a much larger home together and after the divorce he kept these extremely large pieces to furnish his new little home with?? As in all of your videos of places that have fabulous antique furniture in them, i think it is a shame they are left to the elements and vandals! It seems that these pieces could somehow be legally sold to the benefit of the homeless or other charitable organizations! At least some good would come from preserving these priceless pieces! Many years ago traveling in Luxembourg, i found two thick square oak carved door panels of lions heads in an antique shop there. I bought them and I commented on them being beautiful antiques and the owner said they weren't antiques, only a couple of hundred years old!!! Seems in Europe, to be an antique, objects need to be at least 500 years old! He told me where the chateau was they came from and I got to drive by and see what was left of it. Like so many places in your videos, it had been abandoned and slowly melted into the ground. Outside the elegant wrought iron fence Lying on the ground in the grass, i found a beautiful bronze carved handle with gears on the end which i found out later was the handle for a special type of window that opened from the top as well as swinging like a door! I still have the two carved lions head panels and window handle 50 years later!!

Very kind of you, Bros Of Decay, to blurr out the letters. You guys are the greatest. I like your show over other 'abandoned places' videos because of your respectful approach when you enter a property. This gentleman will thank you, when you are up in Heaven for the respect you showed his place. A reward awaits those who show respect to others [even] if they have passed on to the next life. This place is like a magical, fairytale cottage by the way. Nice! Thank you guys again for the wonderful video here!
