I found it amazing that the toilet ( a late 1940s-early 1950s Kohler Wellworth), still intact & in good condition, was the only plumbing fixture remaining in the house. Judging by the condition of the house & the heavy duty contractor extension / power cord left behind, it was a renovation project that was started & never finished due to lack of sufficient funds for the project.
Why are there so many people in the comments saying they give homeless people cigarettes, that's stupid you are making their health worse. The three worst things you can give to a homeless person are drugs money and cigarettes. And I know people are going to tell me I'm a heartless bitch but if you give a homeless person money for all you know they could just go and use that for drugs or alcohol. Go get them food or clothes or a sleeping bag at least then you know you're actually helping them

I bet that house has some great memories. A big family with multiple kids who would come back with the grand kids and visit the proud grandparents for the holidays. Then, Grandma died suddenly and Grandpa went shortly after with what was believed to be a broken heart. The children who inherited the house fought bitterly amongst themselves for it and other possessions and two of the children severed all contact with the rest of the family as a result. The grand kids eventually stopped asking to go to a place that their parents didn't really like any more and all the happy memories left with the last one to turn the lights out, all except that extension cord...
@Native Nfree I've never been in one either, but I would imagine there's paraphernalia lying around, human waste on the floors, I actually seen a video before I can't remember which one it was. I've went to an abandoned house where the copper was all taken to be sold for crack. I've actually tried it before with my brother in law; the 3 minute high is no where's near worth your anxiety.
Most houses with power shutoff , just have meter taken out. Very easy get power from utility side lugs that are still live. Not advisable because no breaker or fuse protection in case of short. The actual cable ,at its weakest point, would burn or melt if shorted out.
That extension cord probably been there a couple of years in my opinions... Did you see the final stage of the thing? What was it powering? That's just weird how he disapeared suddenly.
I am quite sure that the small fridge still works like a brand new one. Take it out, clean it with the ose and the hard pastic brush, add some insulation foam panel around it to make it more efficient, change the thermostat for a digital one ( furnace one that goes down to 5c) and you have the most reliable small fridge ever. I have one like that here that someone gave me free, only the thermostat was bad, they are indestructible and have a oversized compressor and cooling capacity compared to the today models of the same kind.
I and a friend ran into one of these ppl, we gave him some cash but it was a bad idea. He saw it as a "weakness". Guy turns out to be totally insane, unpredictable and has a blade out all of a sudden.

I work in New York City so i give people unopened food/drinks and such but cash is never a good idea. Ive had people turn down my offers and asked for cash instead.
Many homeless people are mentally ill. In a way, I'm thankful the man saw the money as a weakness. Many mentally ill people use drugs to self medicate.
Shameless is one of those shows that you either laugh or cry at. It sure gives the rich an idea of all the crap poor people have to go through just to have some kind of life.
I work in construction, and adore spaces like this. I can see this house must have been really lovely at one point. But it all comes and goes. Its the people that make houses a home. Neighborhoods change... up and down, then back again. Some great things can happen, but its up to people to see the possibility. Keep up the good work, Filmer peeps!

I'm going to be a junior in hs and about a month ago we decided to explore this abandoned farmhouse where supposedly some big old murder suicide happened. We'd already been there before at like midnight (the first time we just found probably 10000 cigarette butts and an empty schizophrenia pill bottle)but the pills were like 5 years old so we weren't too worried. So this night we came in there at like 2:00 AM and we noticed a bike sitting by the house. We just figured we missed it last time so I pressed on until I hit the doorway and smelled a stench of cigarette smoke. I backed up and my friend told me not to be a pussy so he called into the house "anyone in there?" And the guy, probably assuming we were cops, was clearly sitting right next to the doorway when his gruff voice called out "yes". I was frightened but I just told the guy, "shit man sorry about that we'll leave" at the same time the two girls we were with screamed and burst into laughter and my other friend sprinted away.
I felt bad but decided to sprint also because I heard some shuffling in the house, we sprinted back to the car which was parked some ways down the road and one of the girls tripped before she passed the corner to get out of the property. She swears to death she saw a guy Jof out after her and she says it was some fat guy who looked about 6'4. At first I was scared as hell thinking why the fuck would this guy chase us but my friend said he probably just thought we were cops(because obviously it's private property) so he chased us because we frightened him and he was mad about some teenagers dicking around near his house.
I cant really say this was a very smart think for you two to be doing. Hell I'm a normal person of sane mind and even I would have probably flipped my shit if two random men showed up where I was squatting that were being insistent on finding me or looking around. I wouldn't know what your true intentions were as you can't trust random strangers. This guy however could be completely out of his mind and your lucky he didn't try to stab you or worse. You will probably do what you want but my MO with urban exploring is to always avoid people and if I do encounter someone sketchy I get the hell out of there and quick.
You're lucky he didn't confront you or anything. After being days awake on anything , you really can't stand to be around anyone. Not to mention I doubt he believed a word you said about just filming. That's some bad shit you never want to put in your body.
That's too sad, hopefully he's okay. I wouldn't want to invade someone's space. I do Urbex and if I run into homeless people I'll usually give them 5 bucks or a cigarette or something. I've never met a hostile homeless person before. They're usually nice and really grateful for the little things they have.

I can't believe any type of power is still on in that place, the basement looks like a fire truck waiting to happen, maybe a possible renovation started but maybe due to the economy they had to stop??? I'm surprised you're still copper left in that place

they said he was tweaking. meaning he was fucked on some type of drugs. if it was meth, one of his first thoughts would be to rob them and take their camera equipment and stash their bodies in the basement. as long as he could turn em and make a profit for more meth, he'd do it. especially if he was capable. you never know what someone is capable of until they show you, and in this particular situation the smart move would be to tread carefully.

Rene Loyola You peaked my interest... so I went back and watched it frame by frame zoomed in. It really did look like him, size and shape seems accurate for a person. I could make out the legs, the arms were where they should be, head about the right size. I thought maybe you had figured it out, even though it seemed weird I was looking right at him but somehow missed. BUT... damn it I wish you were right but if you skip ahead to about 8:18 you can see the same spot the next day. The whiteness of the wood beam, and the shapes of the other wood when out of focus totally could have made the figure you see earlier in the video. I believe he was in the basement so there's a good chance we won't ever see him in the footage, but I applaud your good eye on investigating.
