Loved that! You were having so much fun! But please, be careful with your eyes. Get some old style Bugatti driver’s goggles or something, but don’t risk your eyes.
Emily's a boss!!!!! Tearing it up that dirt didn't have a chance!!!Aaron's awesome enjoying his wifey having a blast. Loving the videos guys keep em coming
As a car guy, I enjoy any channel that has to do with cars ... a past VW guy, any VW powered car touches my heart ... that said .... Emily keeps me coming back ... those eyes and that smile .... knock my socks off!
Em, you're a great spokesperson for any product you endorse. Very professional. But oh my goodness were you having a blast drifting that car! Smile-o-meter was pegged.
A little tip for working with those lug bolts. Get one started and snugged up, then spin the tire to get that bolt at the 12 o’clock position. This should allow the other 4 to line up close enough and you don’t have to fight to hold the wheel up and get the bolts started. My Dad used to have a VW based buggy and I helped quite a bit over the years. He showed me that trick the first time I tried to mount the fronts.
I never saw an American havin so much fun in a car before (don't be rude now gents)! Awesome Emily. I remembered how we had such fun when we were kids. All the cars around here were less than 180 hp and it was a mad hoot to cane about the beach or paddocks in an old Hunter or Corolla. VW's were a bit too flash to do that with unless we were rich people. Humber 80's and old Rover 75,or 90's were heavy gutless and pretty humorous too. Great wee hoon around the layby Miss, wish I could have had a go! 🏆👍❤️😂
These replicas are/ have been quite common here in Germany. Mostly due to the chassis - of course: VW Käfer You should choose a tire with a high side profile, especially on an "Pendelachse" rear end: that changes camber very extreme. Like more than a 60, like 65/70%. e.g. 185/70-15" works great in the front. 155 is original equipment.
So much fun through vicarious watching of you folks having so much fun! That is an awesome little beasty, so much potential to become even more, keep the vids coming I quite enjoyed this one. I have only one initial suggestion and that is that you figure out some way to do a couple of 'neck-saver' roll-bars behind some safe seats and seal off the engine from the cockpit, oh wait, dats more than one, okay a couple, oh, some decent shocks and a wee lift, 1800 or so turbo charged motor, run the exhaust forwrd into the side pipes..... ok ok ok I go now... So much fun! Big cheers from PNW Canada, sitting by the ocean :)
As kids we used to build fun buggies out of VW beetle floorpans, Boogerwelds, steampipe and fencing wire and really? This isnt far off that lol Incredibly simple, durable and SO MUCH FUN!
Lotta fun. That little Bug is a winner. You gotta keep her around and make little upgrades as you feel like it. Love the vid, and Emily even manages to make mud look good.
Am sat there thinking "sure they use those motors in dune buggys or something similar" then the wee beastie got a right ripping and the puddle spared no mercy.. pure fun.. interesting vehicle.. brilliant. good work you guys. will enjoy to see the wee car progress.
Trucking in Mississippi, I noticed the new big acre manufacturing plant off of I-20 in Jackson! Huge. Wishing you all the best success. Keep good content coming? Say, did ya think the bug-gati was the Nova? Sliding around!
That Bugatti is cool! BUT! I am new to this channel and had no idea you had a 05/06 GTO... That’s awesome! I love those things! Definitely in the running for favorite RU-vid channel. Tell Finnegan to watch out!
Emily i love how your not afraid to send it and get all dirty having fun👍🏻 Can’t wait till u paint it and make it look like a really nice gem.. but it looks great just how it is now👍🏻👍🏻🙏
LOL thanks for the laugh !! its like off roading my dune buggy... you're gonna get DIRTY ! ... maybe get it to turn sharper and a windshield and maybe fiber glass bucket seats and seat belts and you're set !!
I had a vw buggy with a Corvair transplant for double + HP. Highway speeds no problem. Handled as good as any VW would.. And ran decent... A fun project for you two would be to DIY turbo it. Would make for some fun shows. Love you guys. Keep having fun together.
So I believe I heard Aaron say in a previous video that You were not going to spend any money on this rig. Now new tires and rims, going to fix this and that? Guess we'll throw that one out the window! Great to see you having some fun. Thanks for sharing!
If you get a long bolt with that same metric pattern, 14mm 1.5 maybe? Cut the head off the bolt then use it as a guide pin to hold the wheel while you start the other bolts. Learned that 40 years ago with Benz... :)!
With all them spiders, you’d be better off calling that sweet little ride correctly. Webster’s says (BUG - gotty) is the way to pronounce it as it is VW powered😀
Looks like lots of fun! Bigger powerplant would be good, but that vw motor is just right for fun. Goggles, better seat, gas cap that stays on.... Stay safe. Don't get hurt!
Yes she seems happy with I guess 15 years so she's very gorgeous but talented too is a gigantic plus for him and anyone watching their adventures so yeah Thumbs up👍👍
I haven't gone through all of the comments. VW wheels love to come off when the lug bolts are touching painted surfaces. I'm not a fan of reversing the wheels, but take the time to sand off the paint below the lugs. In the old days, we would buy stripped bugs for $50.00. No fenders, no hood, just a homemade water pipe roll Cafe. Tie a rope to the trunk lid, put on a helmet and hold on as your buddy tried to shake you off in the field. Think of it as dry land, tubing.😂
I just started watching you guys a week ago you are a total stud muffin!!! And your husband is a pilot I only have 14 hours of flight time but I want to finish getting my Private Pilot certificate really enjoy watching you Scott Downing cross-country truck driver out of the land of fruits and nuts Bakersfield California!!
It’s never a bad day when you’re at spin in the wheels in the mud, especially when it gets all over your face. You guys are adorable. Love the channel love you guys.
If you plan to keep on throwing it sideways under full throttle, you might want to see if there is anything underneath that you can bolt or weld a couple of headache tubes to and attach a couple of simple bucket seats and accompanying seat harnesses to. I would guess that it wouldn't be impossible to flip it if you tried hard enough. Looks like a WHOLE LOT of FUN.
Seeing as you now have the VW powered Bugatti, have you ever seen the old video of a guy changing the belt with the engine running? My first car was a 1964 VW convertible!
This thing would drive a LOT better with some additional weight under or even in front of the front axel. Maybe make a steel weight plate that can be bolted unser the front axel?
I think Arron was having his fun just watching Erin having so much fun driving the car. There's nothing more satisfying than watching your girl having a blast doing the same things you enjoy...
Get a couple cheap high back bucket seats from eBay, 4-point harnesses, roll bar and a rattle can paint job then you’ll have a halfway decent looking semi safe hotrod to play with. OH YEAH...GOGGLES!
You guys are hilarious, reminds me of my teenaged years when I was messing with Ford Angelia’s and ‘47 Ford pickups; ‘55 Chevy sedans and no money, scrounging parts and fixing things with bailing wire and large hammers 😎
I know Aaron knows what he's doing and all, but isn't spraying lube into the bolt holes on the rear drum going to get lube all inside the drum? They still seemed ot be locking up the rear wheels though so it can't be that bad.
I like that Volksbugatti... but there is one thing I need to mention. You put the wheels face off on the drums, men’s the tires are against the driving direction. This causes bad driving direction, more and faster tireware, bad steering, and a problems in wet condition. Maybe you can correct this. There are also spacers available to drive bigger tires and rims. What I love is the old and rusty look. Do not change that!
I wonder if the stud vs. lug nut thing on the VW is a German thing? I don't remember what my '79 beetle had but my Mercedes has studs. It also has an alignment pin to help in putting the tire back on.
A southern belle who wrenches, I’m addicted! Can you clone her for the rest of us? Just discovered your channel and have been enjoying watching how both of you work together so well on the projects you are undertaking.....now I want a boat!
I see the front wheels are turning plenty sharp enough. Looks like issue is lack of horsepower to kick back end around, or maybe front end too light. In tight turns the front wheels are sliding sideways.
I love the proportions of the car. The front axle is so far out front. Classic vintage sports car. I think I prefer it with the front mudguards. It sounded fast, even if it wasn't actually fast. Is Errin also lubricating the brakes when he lubes the wheel nuts? (Looks like the wheels attach to the brake drums).
There's a saying " you can't be too rich, too good looking or have too much fun". You guys bring out the little kid in all of us and it's a kick to watch. I love racing other dirt bikers to the mud to see who you can roost !! Love this vid.!!!
That's one fine race car there. Y'all just continue to amaze me with all the different types of things that y'all are involved with. Hammer down. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
You also should never lubricate threads, it allows more torque and can stretch threads, anti-seize if used should also be a small amount not smothered for the same reason
