That house was occupied until a few years ago by John and Joan Cawte ❤ Joan died a few years ago and John fell downhill after the love of his life died 💔 me and my wife were at garden parties there 30yrs ago. John was in a Nursing home when you entered that property (you were unknowingly it was still occupied) John died 2yrs ago and the property was sold on but the investment company has went bust a year ago. I remember showing Joan how to decorate cakes in that kitchen ❤ they were an eccentric couple but very lovable God bless them and hope they are happy again in the afterlife 💕🏴
They have family who live in England who after the first break in came up and iron bared all the doors and windows I heard the police were involved as mysteriously all the family silver and valuables went missing and because the guns went missing pretty sad because when the first time this video went out the guy was still alive in hospital so there’s a fine line between exploring and breaking and entering
I actually feel sad watching this vid of you all raking through Joyn and Joan's belongings while he wax in a Nursing home 💔 I know you never knew that at the time but seeing the house again after all those years brings back happy memories ❤

Loved this place, very medieval ! He certainly liked his guns eh. Lots of interesting stuff, I was so excited when I seen that wee yellow door and wondered what would be behind it, what a cool wee place that looked down into the kitchen. I got a feeling this was a well known person or celebrity, someone with money who liked having all his celebrity mates round. So I really expected to see a cracking car in the garage and couldn't believe he drove a Citroen ZX 😄👏 Great explore Alec, love these unusual places, it was a right wee tardis aswell wasn't it 😊👍 PS: You remind me of Midge Ure !
Interesting, particularly liked the old 19th century percussion guns, wouldn't fancy attempting to fire one now mind you! I do collect some of those antique weapons myself, so I found this fascinating to watch. Great video.

I wonder if that upstairs section was used as a Bed and Breakfast type arrangement ? It’s a truly amazing place with all swords guns and armour.I really hope someone reclaims it and stops the decay soon. Thanks guys for a great explore.

What an amazing house .some of the treasures found in the house must be of great sentimental seems so sad for it all to be left sitting there collecting dust .some of the furniture and ornaments are just amazing .surely there is some that have families for it to be passed down or sold on .even just to keep their legacy going. Knowing that somebody else is living a happy life their such beautiful findings
What a Grand home that once was. Judging from where y'all first entered the house, I never imagined that it would be as enormous of a house as it is. So many rooms, it just keeps going on and on. And then it must be a very old house, seeing how thick the exterior walls are the look like they're around 18-24 inches thick (45-60 cm). That's incredibly thick for exterior walls. It's extremely rare to find a modern house built like that today. I can imagine how that large dining hall would have looked with those tables on the left centered in the room with the chairs all around the tables. It must have been grand to look out over the room from that balcony. When everything was done up beautifully with table cloths and centerpieces on the tables.
Clearly most of these houses are not abandoned. You are either trespassing while the owners are away, or you have permission from the owners? Which is it?
There was so many nooks n crannies in that house we visited John n Joan many a time they were a lovely couple and so sad to see it in this state 😢 hope the people who bought it restore it to its former glory ❤🏴
Did John and Joan have Clan gatherings there? It looks like they may have had feasts, dancing and festive times in the hall. Such a shame it’s so mouldy. Hopefully someone will purchase and bring it back to its former glory. Love your explores Alec and friends. Thanks so much. 🇦🇺🏴

Wow - a lot of guns and ammo. What was that empty room w/flowers above the kitchen? Weird… Many nice antiques after they are clean and polished. Meeting Room if some sort with the coat of arms above the fireplace? A shame we don’t know more. Interesting place.
Nice, very strange and fascinating house. Obviously the house is very old though renowated a bit over the years. I think that they must have had a bar because of the bar keys in the cabinet, and that amount of booze... 😅

It may well be that a re-enactment society used to meet there & dance Highland Reels & have feasts after re-enacting battles & historic events, & attending pageants.

Amazing property, definitely has ‘function room’ vibes about it. I personally would love to see a Black Lace tribute group there followed by a classy stripping act, and with that little bedroom attached in the loft you could crash there after you’ve had a few too many.
