In this video tutorial you will learn how to model, Analysis, and simulate brick masonry walls in ABAQUS FE software. Reference: www.sciencedir... link of model drive.google.c...
Hi sir, I downloaded the file you uploaded for further understanding but the analysis gets aborted with errors "Numerical Singularity" , "Negative Eigenvalues" and "convergence issues". Any suggestion sir?
Thank you for this detailed video. I've a doubt sir, if I need to simulate wall under in plane and out of plane loading condition, is compression and tensile test of concrete is enough (for material input) or we need to do some extra test at material characterization level for Simulation? Thank you in advance, sir.
Hi dear , the material is a very sensitive parameter if you do a test that will be better and you can get a better result which will be very close to the experimental work and you can do further parametric analysis.
Hi sir, I have another doubt. I am not able to assign element type in meshing module. I tried making the parts independent and applying-it did not work. I also tried making them dependent again to assign element type to parts instead of assembly. That didn't work either. Can you please help sir
@@KSSE_Engineer Sir i tried following the video. In the meshing module seed instance is discussed however assign element type was not discussed so should i skip "element type"
@@KSSE_Engineer Thank you for taking the time to respond, sir. In the Mesh Control section, I initially attempted to apply Hex meshing, but it wasn't successful. Subsequently, I applied Tet (Free) meshing, which worked. For the seed instance, I used a global seed size of 50mm. However, when I attempted to assign the 3D stress element type (C3D10), it didn't work. I tried adjusting the seed size by both increasing and decreasing it, and then reapplying the element type, but the issue persisted. I also tried applying the linear geometric order (C3D4) for a 4-node tetrahedron element, but that too wasn't applied. To provide context, this is a dry stone model with homogeneous walls and simple geometry, so I'm unsure why the meshing process is encountering these difficulties :(
Thankyou very much for sharing inp file... i request if you can model the same using interlocking brick with dry stacking for push over study.... actually i have a dessertation next monday so if possible please upload a video for same in this week only..... thankyou once again... big help....
Thanks a lot for this tutorial. But why the values of dilation angle, friction abd flow stress ratio do not match with reference paper that you followed
@@KSSE_Engineer Respected sir, I have to follow the values of given paper, but I can't match the values with the video. Therefore I am feeling trouble. And sorry to disturb you...I need help
Hi Ajaz .. people do not use abaqus for design as it is not that user friendly like ETABS, SAP, or STAAD Pro ... On the other hand Abaqus doesn't have many of the pre-defined design tools that CSI and Bentley software have ... Abaqus is mostly used for analysis
@@KSSE_Engineer I mean some people are eager to learn Abaqus from scratch and cannot create parts (like brick) on their own. So it can be a good idea to explain things from A to Z because people usually like to get the whole thing in one package these days.
