Band: 2 sets of drums. Horn section. 2 bass players, 2 keyboards and 4 guitar players. 4 backup singers and 2 percussionists. Basically ABBA brought the best musicians that Sweden had at the time. Abba members themselves had far more than 500 gigs behind them per head even before the band started. Even the dude filming is now a famous Hollywood director.

That was electric! It's remarkable though that these 2 songs were ending the concert after almost over 90 minutes of performing. And still outshine for their explosive perfomance without looking tired or sounding vocally over-streched.And they even continued after this for an encore.I'm so glad you enjoyed this, thank you and the requesters for their choice.

I'd like to add that to my ears, they are a totally unique mix. There's pop mixed with a bit of rock, a bit of disco, symphonic art rock perhaps and Swedish folk music. The latter only apparent for those that grew up in Sweden. Great ballads and vocal pyrotechnics to die for .. I get a tingling down my leg from some of the stuff the girls do. Gorgeous melodies .. ear-candy. This coming from a metal-head secretly in love with Frida. Cheers 🍺

The musicians they brought with them on their tours are essentially a who-is-who of famous Swedish musicians. Many of them with their own solo careers and all of whom have spoken with fondness of the experience of touring with a mega band such as ABBA. The costumes are totally over the top .. but hey this was the late seventies and many bands (check out the costumes of Led Zeppelin) just looked like this. ABBA were a great live band! Cheers 🍺

I am so blessed to say i was there. Nov 9th 1979. One of the greatest nights of my life. ABBA were known for their catchy pop or agonising ballads. But with other songs on albums they had so many different levels. Hole in your Soul is pure rock. Another that will open your eyes is The Visitors. Its very dark and has a very deep beat.

What a lovely surprise Chad! thank you very much for this special live reaction from ABBA I like to see You enjoy with the energy and músic of ABBA on stage it's true Chad, this is the same group as the one in the previous video is that ABBA is absolutely versatile, although its essence is pop music, it makes ballads, rock, disco music, regae, folk, musicals, dramatic, eyc I add a context data that elevates what you say The recital is the closing of the North America/Europe Tour September/November 1979 At the beginning of that year the blonde singer Agnetha and the guitarist and singer Björn had already separated; However, their professionalism allowed them to share the love for their music and that energy put on stage Something about the two songs: "Does your mother know" with Björn added to Agnetha and Frida at the leads vocales, was the second single from their six album "Voulez Vous" (1979) pick #3 in UK "Hole in your soul" wasn't a single, it's a hidden gem in their five album "ABBA The Album" (1977) ABBA gave the best of itself in that mythical setting; It had been almost two hours and 20 songs And they arrive at this epic moment with the four in front of their audience (after a memorable melodic and heavenly bridge of the singers Agnetha and Frida and their highest notes in all ABBA history) Then there will be the special numbers. They will return to close with the emotional "The way all friends do" followed by their greatest worldwide hit "Dancing Queen" And the final bonus will be the iconic "Waterloo", the song that gave them the triumph there in England in the remembered 1974 Eurovision Contest that put ABBA in the consideration of the music world Here is the link to this final trio of songs ("Waterloo" with image of the first minute, but the complete audio) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MeRESZjq8J0.html Thank you again so much for giving us this gift for all ABBA fans My best wishes for you from Buenos Aires, Argentina, South América And see in other videos and react

Benny is responsible for the famous "backwards B" in their official logo. When they were doing a photo shoot for a German magazine (Bravo), each of the members held up their respective letters, and Benny held his backwards (by mistake/unkowingly)......... and then after that, they used it as their official logo, which was "trademarked".

Enjoyed this Chad ! ... fond memories. I was 17 in 1979 when the album ABBA Voulez Vous came out and inside the cover I excitedly found an announcement flyer that read "ABBA is coming to America !" What fantastic news, the Swedish Fab Four embarking on a concert tour of North America for the first time. Then my heart sank for most of the concert dates were for the east and west coast with a few scattered in some northern states....none for my state, Arkansas nor surrounding states. Since that age I have seen many artists in concert, including some Abba Tribute shows, however to this day one of my biggest regrets was missing the '79 ABBA concert. I am beyond thrilled for their great music comeback with new album VOYAGE !

Not sure which particular night at Wembley that this was filmed. They played six consecutive evenings there and I went on the Thursday, the fourth concert. Their 'Live At Wembley' album came from the last one but I think other nights got recorded too. Anyone who claims ABBA were a 'studio band' ought to be shown this or listen to that album. Yes, they didn't tour as much as some other huge bands but it certainly wasn't because they couldn't perform live. As you can see, they had two drummers, three guitarists (including Bjorn), bass and additional keyboardist to recreate that big sound on their records. And those girls sure could sing..

I was there on 10th November, 1979. I believe this was filmed on that night. If I could upload an image of my tickets here, I would. I had to beg my parents for the £7.50, the cost of the ticket; I treasure it to this day.🧡🧡🧡🧡

Thanks for the ABBA. Yeah this is one of my favorite performances by them. But that whole concert is fire. And what a great band made up of their session players. As far as I know that concert footage is the only time we got to see the reserved Agnetha really cur loose. And of course Frida was always great live. Have you seen "Why Did It Have To Be Me" live from the Australian tour? Frida really shows how it's done in that one.

Their manager Stikkan (Stig) Anderson, was the one who had the idea of taking the first letters from each of their first names, and come up with the now-world-famous acronym....ABBA. They had a hard time at first, because in Sweden, there was a fish-canning company with the name "Abba", and they had to promise that the newly-named musical foursome would not "tarnish" the name of their company. 😆🐟

Bjorn the purple peacock. Watch them thar tights don't blow! It's a wonder they had snow in Sweden with the hot moves of Anni-Frid and Agnetha!!! The outfits sure were tacky in the 70's but everyone wore them! Two beautiful girls with amazing voices and two guys Benny and Bjorn who were amazing composers and musicians. Many of their songs sounded simple but were quite intricate. I think I mentioned before that they were inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame by Robin Gibb who said good music lasts forever. ABBA made good music. They were one of the biggest touring acts of the 70's. Hope you can do more of their songs. A beautiful one is "Slipping through my fingers". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZRCp1mPdAAI.html It was "uncool" to like ABBA but there were a lot of secret and not so secret fans.
