I'm a swedish guy growing up with Abba. I have always liked them, but now, at the age of 58, I have rediscovered them and love them more than ever. Thank you for your dedicated listening/viewing to Abba songs. I lived quite near Agnethas parents as a kid and I met her a few times. Once I ringed the doorbell, she opened, let me in to the kitchen, gave me her autograph and spoke kindly to me for a while :-) . Another time we saw her from the class room window walking with her little daughter. Suddenly the class room was empty and Agnetha surrounded by the whole class of eleven year old kids! But the biggest thing was when I was in an elevator with the whole band! My friend lived at level 3, Agnethas parents lived on level 7. Before the elevator door just slammed, it opens and Abba was tumbling in! I was shocked, shy and blushed, staring at the floor... They giggled... Later the whole band stood on the balcony, waving at all the kids on the lawn below! Must have been 1974, after their success in the Eurovision contest!
Agnetha's sexyness is pretty naive here while Frida is really spicy.Who could so easily escape these 2 babes in the '70s?I knew you would like this and I had such fun watching this reaction.Nice for us Abba fans to share and enjoy.
So nice to see you again reaction to more ABBA songs in your ABBA Journey "Take a chance on me" (1978) is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world, the most selling song of ABBA in U.S. (more than Dancing Queen), #3 in Billboard U.S. one of their four Top10 in US : #6 Waterloo (1974) #1 Dancing Queen (1977) #3 Take a chance on me (1978) #8 The winner takes it all (1981) This is one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music (They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end) the blonde singer Agnetha is the lead vocal, her voice is so powerful, in perfect armonies and chorus with the brunette Anni Frid in co-leads vocal (and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance') Agnetha & Anni Frid have fantastic voices and harmonies together Agnetha is soprano Anni Frid is mezzo soprano and together made a 'third voice' the guitarist Björn got the idea while jogging, by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt and adapted it to "take a chance, chance, take a chance", so the song was born Although it is a disco europop, it's like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying, addictive if I could give You a suggestion for next reaction, take a review of all "ABBA The Álbum" (release at the same time with "ABBA The Movie" in 1977), is a Masterpiece of versatility in each song, but specialy the two most fantastic underrated: "Move on" & "Hole in your soul" and the hymn "Thank you for the music" I wish you a greatest week My best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South América
My favorite ABBA song! I love reacting with you, Luke, and always love your analyses! You're a LETHAL pansexual package of brains & brawn! Keep it coming!
Always enjoy your reactions - I remember when this was a "new song" - I'm that old hahaha - I think Björn got the rhythm from the song from jogging - my fav Abba song is "The Day Before You Came" - it's melodic and haunting - they asked Agnetha to sing the song in a simple way - it was the last song they recorded before the Voyage sessions - there is a film clip too as it was a single -
Although it didn't quite match 'Dancing Queen's' #1 spot in the USA, 'Take A Chance On Me' is actually ABBA's biggest selling single there. It also comes from an awesome side 1 of any original vinyl album. 'Eagle', 'Take A Chance On Me' , 'One Man One Woman' and 'The Name Of The Game'. ABBA at the top of their game.
I have always loved ABBA! I love watching your journey on the ABBA road!! Great reaction! 💕 A few of my favs are Thank You For the Music, Dancing Queen and Mamma Mia. The video for “When I Kissed the Teacher” is so enjoyable and makes that one a favorite also. So many other great songs by them also! 🌻 8:21
Great reaction as always, I would love for you to react to their new song from 2021 Don’t Shut Me Down. It’s just proves that even 40 years on they still have it
hey I wanted to say i really enjoy your reactions, you seem like a genuine, fun dude! Im gonna add to the recommendation mountain with a few songs I just discovered recently from them: the purest agnetha vocals, that will make you fall in love even more you'll find in "My love my Life" - the Performance and expressions in the Video are just divine. More upbeat songs I like are "As good as new", "Kisses of Fire", Summer night City" and "when i kissed the teacher" And for songs that sound rather different I would recommend "the Visitors", "Soldiers", "Eagle" and "Move on" there are many more good ones, but that should be enough for now ;) Have fun on your ABBA journey, I just had mine last month and it was magical.
Hey sexy boi! You're so cute mimicking their dance moves. Ha! Great video. I don't think you've done, No Doubt About It, yet. One of the new tunes. And so great. Cheers!
Admittedly, I’m a disco fanatic. This is a bad ass song, my favorite ABBA song, hands-down. I have to edit this by saying I just watched this video again and oh my god this song is so freaking awesome! It’s so simple yet it’s so powerful
Those first 20 seconds acapella are simply amazing, that part of the boys sounds like the music itself, another masterpiece from this group, also the energy of the girls, and yes, they both are very beautiful and also sexy, and this comes from a woman, but I can certainly appreciate those attributes in other women. Great reaction Luke, I notice you enjoy it!!!
Thx ! Please, Luke, For all parents, "slipping through my fingers" Live Dick cavett show. Or "Eagle" full version, and also the Brodway style with "Thank you for the music" where Bjorn and benny define in the lyrics the nature, the essence of Agnetha.
I love your very upbeat reactions to Abba. I'm loving that you're loving them too ❤️. I've been a fan since 1977 and that hasn't diminished in all those years.
Loving your excellent ABBA reactions, Luke ! .. Your enjoyment of these wonderful songs, plus your interesting observations of their musical elements and the accompanying videos, makes for very entertaining and enjoyable viewing .. Please continue with lots more ABBA ! .. How about "When I Kissed The Teacher" or "Bang A Boomerang" .. Thanks, Wayne
Eagle...album version ( long version)...the video is the Edit single version for airplay . Gimme Gimme Gimme, album version, video short and cut out the best part The Visitors
I see this as maybe a non-classical beauty, maybe older, maybe shy, saying give me a chance. It’s an underdog anthem. “If you change your mind… I’m still free… I’ll be around… if you’ve got nothing else going on.” Not desperate, because the message is laid back. “We can go dancin, walkin, listen to music, just talkin.” But determined, because she’s been rejected. “You say that I waste my time.” As usual, a less than simplistic sentiment wrapped in a sweet pop tune. Top 5 ABBA, I think. I know you’re exploring their classics, but you’re in a prime position to react to Don’t Let Me Down or I Still Have Faith In You, because the hits are fresh for you. Hearing them at 70 after 40 years apart- I’d love to see how you respond. Both songs are fantastic and show that ABBA is special.
That subtle sadness is a very Swedish thing. Can be found in _alot_ of Swedish songs. If you ever hear it in an american or UK artist song, look up if its written and/or produced by a Swede. The odds are pretty high.
Have you reacted to "The Visitors"? Thats a song that I used to hear played at an after hours club I'd go to in the early 90s and always thought was cool, never heard anywhere else, and didn't learn til years later that it was ABBA.
A song to pick from another side of ABBA....would you like to try the song My Mamma Said..it's early ABBA and it's a great song! Also, why do I get happy little tears when I watch ABBA reactions by the new generation...it just makes me very happy to see ABBA is still surprising people years after they stopped making music ( untill Voyage ofcourse) I'm now 44 years old and when I discovered ABBA through my mother, ABBA was already split. I think was about 8 years old..and I still love them so so much!
Hi from Southeast Asia. I like your Abba reactions. Some ask you make reactions to Abba 2021. My advice to you - first react to all Abba hits where they were young. And only after to songs when they no more young.
