Abbot Seraphim Interviews Andrew Gould on the New Church 

I was raised protestant in New England. The church was build with the same holiness as a Dunkin Donuts, and on the inside they played awful "Christian rock" style music. Inevitably I became an atheist. I really liked the music video game called Halo which I researched and later learned it was based on Gregorian chants, and this facilitated me becoming interested in liturgy. The video game to me is still more authentic than my old church, because there was a shred of that authentic beauty that captivated me whereas my old church was so vulgar that it was almost self-refuting. This was a fantastic video, thank you, and God bless.

It's amazing to hear the depth of Andrew's understanding of Orthodox theology of architecture being unveiled in the construction of the new church. I have appreciated the opportunity to see the building raise up. Thank God for this monastery, this holy place and the addition of this beautiful church. Glory to God.

This was filmed in the living room ofnthe guest house! I'd recognize that icon corner anywhere. I had the great privilege of going on my first pilgrimage to Holy Cross just after Pascha in April with the men of my parish. What a blessing it was. The monks here are so warm and full of God's love.

Wonderful interview. I wish we would stop referring to temples as churches. We, the community of Orthodox believers, are the Church. We worship in temples.

I enjoyed this interview.....but what is a holler in West Virginia??

@8:20 Mr. Gould says, "We are participating in the Kingdom of Heaven, which is here and now." This strikes me as heretical. My comment will not be well-received. I'll see myself to the door... (Otherwise, this is a fascinating interview.)
