ABBOTSBURY near Weymouth is a picture-postcard village nestled amidst the hills behind the Chesil Beach in Dorset, England. Steeped in history dating back some 6,000 years, the village boasts thatched cottages built from local stone, some dating back to the 16th century.

The Swannery: Abbotsbury Swannery is the only place in the world where you can walk amongst a colony of nesting mute swans. Over 1,000 swans call this place home, creating a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
Subtropical Gardens: The village is also home to the renowned Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, a 16-acre paradise boasting a vibrant collection of plants that flourish due to the unique microclimate created by the surrounding hills.
St Catherine's Chapel: Perched on a hilltop overlooking the village is the 14th-century St Catherine's Chapel. Originally built as a place of pilgrimage by monks of the former Abbotsbury Abbey, the chapel offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and Chesil Beach below.
Chesil Beach, a 18-mile (29-kilometer) barrier beach, is located just south of the village. This shingle beach is a remarkable natural wonder and a great spot for a stroll or exploring the diverse marine life found in the rock pools.
