Just got mine, the dongle works good. I have an AnyTone D578, the PTT does not work with it even when I tried to pair it as a PTT button. With Zello, I could not get the PTT to work, I could only use the speaker mic. I even went into the settings and tried to add a button, does not work , I have an Iphone 15. Range is shorter the the AnyTone BT01, the receive audio quickly fades off in about 20 feet of open space. I really hope I can make the Zello part work. The dongle is useful for use with my HT that has a K connector.
I just got my and came with my baofeng but the Bluetooth speaker microphone i paired it with my phone and I can answer phone calls with it and listen to music with it
Do you have a Tidradio H8? It has a unbelievably deep Kenwood connector slot and I'm looking at getting one of these. Just not sure whether it'll work! I'd be pulling the rubber cover off however to use it.
the built in bluetooth on the ft5dr is absolutely horrible and may as well not be built into the radio... however.. im wondering if this mic AND an adapter cable to convert the yaesu TRRS plus to the usual K Style would be the trick to solve the wireless Microphone issue for this radio.. 73 de vo1kjm ve9
A little disapointed, Pleased I didnt spend alot....works great on radio uv-k5 but only as long as squelch is on and the radio is fully quiet, It will not ptt when recieving sound. Acts as ptt in zello (latest android system) when set to toggle but the sound comes from the phone mic unfortunatly NOT from the mic its self.
@HamtechRadioScannerDrones ...can we pair a Smarthphone DIRECTLY to a HandheldRadio with this dongle plugged in ? (WITHOUT ever using the additional mic (switched off) ...like this we could connect the handheld radio directly to a smartphone and use or relay : Zello , APRS , Rattlegram ... and a lot more to the handheld and transmit whatever audio that runs on the phone (and vice versa (vox on the handheld must be on in order to automatically transmit the audio)
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones , Are you shure ? ... directly from a Smarthphone to a Radio (with the dongle) ? (without the mic , ie: mic switched off) , Can you mention 1 or 2 radios that do that ? cause i did not see that in your tests which allways use the mic.
mic works lovely with the included dongle with radio fine like dm 1701 opengd77 ect all work well... however.. the mic alone to use with a phone to use applications like zello appears to be an issue to get your voice through the bluetooth mic and through the application.. did not seem to work with earlier version droid star either... maby it can or could if one can get a setting to select microphone to use.. but does not seem to be selectable in anything i have here.. it will only work as a playback speaker and a ppt switch or a button to start playing music ect...
also in my instance.. as expected.. no it does not work with the yaesu FT5DR alone... but might work if you have the adapter cable from yaesu to use the dongle and then that could or should we would expect make the mic work..
