Steiner is a phenom. She's great at so many distances and always brings it in the relays. Throw in her charisma and you've got a huge superstar in the making.
@Dark Mark because Lewis is over 60 now..you can't be a phenom at that age. When he was younger, he was absolutely a phenom. I remember training for track in 1982 at 9-10 years old and our track coach referring to the very young phenom at the time, Carl Lewis. I remember him noting Lewis's hands because he was so relaxed when he ran that he didn't clinch his fists like most runners, but instead kept them open like "knife blades" to cut through the wind. Then Lewis's performance in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles secured his status as one of the best of all-time. He then continued to have incredible longetivity which is pretty amazing considering the pounding his body took in all the long jump competitions, of which he is the GOAT, without question.
I'm hoping Abby runs half as many races this year as she did in 2022, with some rest before the World Championships. Looking forward to see her in the Millrose Games.
Being out of the hectic schedule of college races where she had to run multiple races for team points, I'm sure she will give her body more rest now to focus on beating the best at the right times.
Abby will win until she run into the Jamaicans she is better of running the 400 Ms caz in the sprints she will be dog out she will not be at the Olympic bronze medal is Gabby Thomas
Someone is being pretty smart with Abby’s competitions/workouts. These races look like pure training to me. The first 200 is about relaxation at speed and the rest is working on her endurance. Her splits are too uneven for races, but ideal preparation for races she cares about. She’s run some very fast times, considering that’s not her objective.
@@battshytkrazy156 Actually if you look, her upperbody arm positioning has changed and I would bet that these are merely training runs to get use to the change while having competition around. Remember when Sidney was doing 60 hurdles and people talked trash about that then her season started and she wrecked that shiz with leg swapping included. It looks like she is not punching herself in the chest anymore.
💯 commented the same on the day she raced.Shes racing the first 200m then building stamina for the last 200m. She's gonna be killing 200metres this year.Shea already got a world class 100m time ,but this training will mean she can hold top speed all the way to the finish line. I honestly see her getting 21•50 time this year
Based on how she slowed after the first 200 meters in the indoor 400, and was right around 36 flat, and the American record is 35.71, and she has already run a 35.8, I think she can easily break the American record. Now the world record is 35.45, so I think she has a ways to go to break that, but I believe she has the potential to do it. It's fun watching her that's for sure. She is an amazing talent.
Abby Steiner is an example of a determined young athlete who has a focus on accomplishments and excellence. Her training regimen is commendable and the sacrifices she makes are remarkable too. Her example is noteworthy.
I think we’re witnessing the rise of an amazing athlete that only comes around once in twenty years. I’m looking forward to seeing her doing some awesome running.
Abby is 23. At what age do female sprinting athletes usually hit their peak? If it is around 26, and she has three more years to keep getting better, she could possibly break some world records, but we have to remember that the level of competition today is higher than ever. Abby is not the only phenom out there, which just makes this an exciting time in track and field history.
Given her accomplishments, there is no reason why Abby Steiner cannot break world records in the near future and years to come. Congratulations Abby for your dedication and focus. You are an outstanding runner.
That is perhaps the most insightful comment on this thread. The two of them have unlimited potential. And as Syd demonstrated, having the right coach can make all the difference in the world. Best wishes to both Sydney and Abby for continued success!
I think the 400 could be her best event. The 100 is tough because of her starts but she doesn’t need that for the 400 and can use her strength and speed. She just needs more races/experience.
Would definitely like to see her attempt a sub 50 indoors to really boost that exclusive club she's in. Ab has excellent cadence and capable of speed endurance, so all she needs in the very tight races is to maintain as much relaxation as possible in her shoulders and arm fluidity. That little tension tightening that happens is where even more lowering of times can come. Superb versatility.
Thank you for posting that comment. I'm far from any expert and always wondered if her form seems a bit stiff. Does her arm swing go a bit lateral, and is it a bit short? Does that affect her stride length? She is one of my favorite athletes and would think if there was something significant she could improve upon, it might actually be a good thing as she could get even faster.
@@6Cougarfans 100% not an expert but lover of the sport big time, so just things noticed really. In regards to her arms I like her unique style as that's her, but surely over time it's a motion that just can get even more tailored to maximise her capabilities to work in her favour.
The fact that she's one of the two fastest combining 100 200 300 400 now that's a statistic. Right when you said the 300 for the Melbourne the first thing that entered my mind was her first world 🌍 record. Then you said it. I wouldn't doubt that at all and that's a fast track.
Im a huge abby steiner fan god willing she's gonna break all the records cause she's a pro now and she's been training with some real monsters so I don't think many runners are gonna keep up to her I think she's already slowing down in order to not show everything she can do in order to murda alot of runners...she a huge Favorite like OTB...a real thoroughbred...
Even considering that Abby saves some energy from not having to pass people later in the race, I have trouble believing a 4 second positive split is the right way to go.
Abby is a star, without a doubt. And you, sir are right up there with her in providing an extraordinarily detailed accounting, dispassionately and fully. Your work here is exceptional.
Am fart wey kind of dispassionately where such word comes from must be an American to coin 👛 such stupendous silliness as a word in words ; is is it that ur coining Ali lie
I think Abby can also break the 7 seconds in the 60m and she has 7;10 pb. Her training partner is Christian Colman who is a great starter. She has a great chance to master this and under 7 in the 60m, under 11 in the 100m, under 22 in the 200, under 36 in the 300m,and under 56 in the 400. A new class that she can accomplish.
Hey, she didn't go out in 23.2, but honorable mention to Shamier Little who closed strong to finish 0.05 off of Stiner in 50.64. All solid stuff for January.
I prefer a strong finish to a fast start. You can start like a rocket but collapse in the second half of the race. Shamier Little had a good race and a faster second lap than Steiner.
if she is injury free and has a decent start i can quite easily see the american record going and i would definitely like her to get the world record, abby just seems to get better and better and unlike a lot of athletes that peak at the start or middle of their season then taper off abby seems to keep pumping out top quality performances in multiple events all while running more races than almost everyone else, i look forward to seeing her run regardless of the outcome, thx again TRP for yet another great video its much appreciated even moreso by me on this side of the pond where i would not get to see any of the collegiate and state meets u showcase
Add my name to the list that thinks Abby S. is awesome. I love watching her run. She definitely has the right stuff. Godspeed Superfoot, Puma has a winner! Big fan! (And she is very lovely)
I been knew she was special. I've been talking her up for some time now on this channel. We are looking at one of the future stars of USA women's track and field! The balance is being restored.
@@knutthompson7879 Yes, her arm pump is unconventional. I knew there was something that stood out apart from her leg turnover. Her arms swing in a synchronized windshield wiper motion. I don’t recall ever seeing that form. And it seems counterintuitive to propelling the body forward.
@@warwickpadmore4644 I would guess it's a movement that carried over from soccer. A lot of soccer players who I know and moved on to track had similar oddities in armswing.
Abby's 35.80 vs Shaunae's 34.41 in the 300m and 50.59 vs 48.36 in the 400m has almost 1.5 sec and 2 secs difference between the 2 times. For such a short distance, those times are miles apart!
You are comparing Abby's INDOOR times to Shaunae's OUTDOOR times. Shaunae's personal best in the INDOOR 400m is 50.21 so Abby is only 0.38 away and she is only getting started.
The indoor 400 is also such a weird event because it is a race in the first 200 to try and get a good spot in lane 1 once everyone breaks. Because of this, the first 200 is bound to be much faster than the 2nd 200 since positioning is so important. Even then though, these are crazy splits and I wonder if she is doing this on purpose to work on her speed and then using the 2nd 200 to build strength and endurance. I could see her running much faster if she slowed down the first 200 a little bit.
This is the year for Abby. 1st yr as a pro. No school and all track. She needs to show consistency and if she gets better in big races. Those Jamaicans are tough and Shericka is a phenom.
Paramount fast - track , track star is the classy Abby Steiner ! Heart felt best wishes that Abby remains in good health to continue quest for competitive spirit .✌🏽.
I do think she'll break the World record in the 300 coming up. Like you said, she's still on the rise. She is, for the foreseeable future, unstoppable. Go ABBY!!!!!
Some of your videos are absolute hyperbole, but this was very intriguing. Nice break down of her 400m thru 300m. Seems she can get that 300m world record. Great analysis TRP!
She's unique in multiple ways. She's outgoing, gorgeous, bright white, awesome bright smile, different kind of small stride and form, lightning quick explosiveness. Sprinting range from 10-525, good at every number. Not sure about her personality yet but she's incredibly intelligent a driven. She's probably great
He’s obsessed with boling and Steiner. He makes videos less than 15 minutes after each of their races and will ignore other athletes in favor of doing an additional video for them. Like we already had a video on Steiner’s 400. Why do you need another within less than a week?
Love to see Abby and Sydney McLaughlin go head to head in an open 400--indoor or outdoor. No doubt that would be historic. Both would do a PR and at some point in an outdoor meet, the world record would fall as well. Looking forward to that matchup. Excitement building for upcoming track season. Thanks to both these great athletes.
She’s just so easy to support. She lets her running, rather than flashy hubris, speak for her. Admirable work ethic and discipline. Steps in to help when she’s needed, and does a world class job. She could, as time goes along, own all the sprints including the 400. And if it takes some time, she won’t complain and she won’t quit. ❤❤❤
If she can pace herself with the amount of running she does, I could see her breaking a world record or in the coming 1-3 years. The exciting part is it can be any of the races she runs...
Abbey has put in some incredible work to have these achievements. But, there must be some excellent coaching, and support behind her to see these type of results.
@@jacobdoyle420 First, I wanted to express my well-wishes to her. I know that she won't see it, but I like the idea of expressing something positive? The world has reached a sad state when people don't question someone being randomly negative but do question someone being randomly positive. The world would be a better place if those who have a problem with random positive comments would just cease to exist. Secondly, comments are good for the algorithm. A random positive comment puts a little positivity into an online world that could use more positivity and tells RU-vid that people enjoy this channel.
Great breakdown as always. But....so Shaunae's 300m pb you posted is an outdoor 300m. 1 wide turn. Her indoor 300m PB is 35.45. Difference being 3 sharper indoor track turns.
I get goosebumps when I watch that 100m! Kratochvílová's record, as many records of that era, can be discounted. There are phenomenal records but rarely phenomenal record breakers - there's usually other factors involved. Abby looks like she could become a multi sprint record holder but I wonder if her body can withstand the pressures that frequent competition over 100-400m present. The specialist runners have less of that possibility. But I'm hoping that this season sees her become an international name - maybe winning a Diamond League title at 200m or 400m. 300m is just not a feature of any major International competition, but she is already a powerhouse runner with her best years ahead of her.
This is an amazing young lady with all 4 events she really makes it look easy Good chance at the W.R. Abby must really love the challenge no satisfaction liken being the best. Go Girl. Love you program very enjoyable. from Australia, Our Cathy Freeman was a little like her. Thanks
I've noticed to me , her legs are shorter than a lot of the other girls , but her legs look like they move back and forth faster than the other runners . My conclusion is that she has better cardio vascular abilities to be able to not tire easily .
1:47; Her first 400m race was on an oversized 300m 'flat track' compared to the traditional 200m 'banked track' for her 2nd 400m race. Be interesting to know what Shaunae (50.21), Privalova (50.23) & Femke (50.30) split in their record-setting races? Also curious what Shericka Jackson (7.04) could run in the indoor 200/300/400m given her outdoor 10.71/21.45/49.47 PBs?! 6:43; Irina Privalova also ran sub 11/22/36/50 (10.77, 21.87, 35.45 & 49.89). Can see Abby breaking Quanera Hayes's 35.71 300m US Record but narrowly missing out on Shaunae & Privalova's 35.45 WR. In terms of outdoors, can see her running 10.85/21.70/49.90.
Funny that 200banked is "traditional". When I ran in the sixties and seventies there was only one soobanaked that I knew of. The usual then was 160yard banked board track.
I just love watching her run. Steiner is one of the best. Other than some others, I want her to run, run, run in '23. She has shown that she can handle the stress. She is one. But I am looking forward to the '23 season in so many events.
Looking forward to great things from Abby this season. There would be three in that group if Sherricka Jackson chose to run the 300m since she's faster than both of them at all of the other distances involved plus 60m!
When I discovered who she was,,, I was awed immediately! Her stamina and ability to kik in a last gear change is truly amazing and incredible! Abbey is CERTAIN to break those records at Millrose. #nodoubtstiener
I mentioned Abby’s versatility last Summer during the World Championships on Twitter when I compared her to Allyson Felix, Valerie Brisco-Hooks & Chandra Cheeseborough. In terms of the 300m, Miller-Uibo’s 34.41 was outdoors. I think Abby can go sub 35 outdoors for the 300m if she ever runs it. **Miller-Uibo** I knew she was good but dang……..thanks for her stats as I had no idea that she is essentially the most versatile female sprinter of all-time. Even more versatile than the ****Eastern Block athletes of the 70s & 80s**** COUGH ***Sanya Richards-Ross*** had that type of potential. I saw her in-person for the 1st time at the 2002 Adidas High School Nationals in Raleigh, NC. She won the 100m & 200m National Title and neither was her best event. ***Abby Steiner*** will become a legend if she can stay healthy.
@@greghammett7894 I’m not worried about physical exhaustion, I’m worried about needless injury. Stick to training objectives and if record comes it comes
Yes I do. Idk what her time will be but I believe she will set a world record. Thus setting another world record. And on top of all that she’s gorgeously beautiful🥰.
Can we get proper titles? Pls I’m not even motivated to look at the videos anymore from the titles because I know it’s most likely exaggerated. If everything is breaking news, then nothing is
