To be fair the secret service's only incompetency was letting the local cops do things they shouldn't be trusted with. Otherwise they followed the book to the letter. On the other hand the secret service was not in high enough number to provide full cover since Trump wasn't the nominee yet and only had the protection an ex-president should have. I'd say this was the local police's gaff as well as an obvious systemic error.
@@christineheckerman7630 I am real sure that I heard that roof had been cleared prior too the rally. It was a staging building for the local Law Enforcement. Everybody probably believed it was some kind of local Police up on the building but then I don't know. What I do know is that there should of been some kind of coms between Agencies. Like a Military unit that has multiple elements deployed and the soldiers in a unit are all talking and listening too each other but there is a coms overwatch that is listening too all traffick not just their specific team. I bet the Secret Service team never heard from the local Law Enforcement teams because they were on different types of radios or at least different channels.

Despite everything going on its nice seeing a moment of humanity between Biden and Trump with the phone call, and both sides saying how nice the call was. I miss the days when front runners for each party had a level of dignity and respect for one another.
