Da schrieb Abu Musa zu Umar285 und berichtete ihm die Begebenheit. Umar schrieb ihm zurück: „Begrabe ihn (d.h. Daniel (a.s.)) und schicke Hirqus zu mir, denn der Prophet (s.a.s.) hat ihm das Paradies verkündet.“ 286

It is well known that when the Muslims conquered Tastar, they came across the grave of Prophet Daniel (peace be upon him), and Amir al-Muminin ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) instructed the Companions to rebury him and conceal from the people the location of his grave, lest that be a cause of fitnah and confusion.

in islam only chiia recognize him as a "prophet", but daniel is considered as great prophet to jewish people but i bet it was kinda of the christian "Paul" for jewish

i think the brother meant that he was an inspiration for him, but if it’s actually the case that he memorized the ayah for the sake of reciting for a human being then that’s wrong. it should be for the sake of Allaah ‘Azzawajal.
